We needed loam to re do our yard in Salt Air Village. So we figured we would order on a Saturday for loam to be here Monday or Tuesday of the following week. But when we called to order, guess what... they told us.??? They said they would be down in less than 2 hrs. What a great surprise. My wife made me start spreading the loam that day. We own and operate a boutique Bed and Breakfast on the Cape. There are several great things I wish to highlight about Robert Childs, Inc. As a smallish business, they have been so kind and helpful to us to get our landscaping needs to us - whether it is a small or a large amount. We have not found that with any other business on the Cape. Their delivery drivers are prompt, courteous and highly skilled in putting the materials delivered EXACTLY where you need them to be. Their customer service team is also truly the best. It feels like you're talking to a family member. And, most importantly, their prices are very competitive. We’ve been using Robert Childs, Inc for years for mulch! Their proprietary blend is one of the, if not THE cheapest on the Cape and their delivery is top notch. Thy always call and show up earlier than expected, which is a plus and allows us to get right to work spreading out mulch so our home looks spectacular! I purchased an used machine through Robert Childs Inc and it was a great experience from start to finish. Gary was great to deal with and helped with all the paperwork to export it to Canada, loaded it onto the semi truck and protected it for transport, overall I could not be more satisfied and would definitely do business with them in the future.

I see that there is a huge amount of bad reviews here some disgruntled employees and some un happy customers. This type of business gets all kinds of people certainly it's not really something I would consider leaving a review but once I noticed a large amount of bad reviews I figured I should step in and say that I have yet to have a bad experience dealing with people here. Pricing seems relatively fair about avarage for the area. I have only purchased mulch here so I don't really experience any of the other services that they offer. But I just wouldn't trust everything you read. Give them a try for ur self.

I recently rented a track skidsteer and purchased 45 ton of Tbase asphalt from these folks. The experience overall was great and their prices are VERY reasonable. Highly recommend!

Pricing on equipment is beyond reasonable. Outstanding response time and service. Just purchased my second brand new machine from them last week. First day of use the machine unfortunately it popped a engine light. I called Robert childs and with in 24 hours they sent a tech over an hour and half to the job site to repair the machine and get us going again. Highly recommend.

As a local business owner, everyone throughout multiple departments have always been right there to keep me going and my business running smoothly. From parts and rentals, the "people behind the glass", and even some of the equipment operators have been nothing but kind and there for me at all times. I refer them to everyone!

The landscape material place is OK but the CASE dealership will rip you off. I was trying to trade my backhoe for a DINGO they offered me $2,500, week later I sold my backhoe for $8,100. They charged me $500 to fix the flat tire and start the backhoe right after I pulled the backhoe out of there the same tire was going flat the next day and I was missing a wrench from the compartment. I’ll never do any business with these guys again!

Phoned ahead to reserve TCH hydraulic fluid for the transmission in my older case crawler loader as it is still specified to protect the clutch and wet brake systems. In fact I made two phone calls to Robert Child’s to ensure the part number was correct as I would be making the 1.5 hr one way trip out to the Cape. Upon entering the office I immediately noticed leaking oil soaked bottles of the fluid I had requested to be put aside. It was clear that the product was very old inventory also demonstrated by the seal on each bottle being no longer adhered to the bottles. The staff was adamant that the oil was not very old and that only one bottle had leaked onto the others. I may have believed them if they had taken the time to whip the layers of dust and dirt from the outside of the containers. When I asked for a bag to put the leaking bottles in I was told they had none. The staffs attempts to whip the bottles clean were fruitless as the oil had clearly made dark stains in an otherwise white container due to years of seepage. The labels on the bottles themselves were also peeling and when compared with the newer bottles of Hytran fluid on the shelf I made the decision to cut my losses. The fear being water as a result of poor storage had contaminated the fluid. The fact that I had called this dealership to have the product put aside in the condition they were in without first notifying me is completely UNACCEPTABLE! I will never do business with this company again. - Dan

Quality of work is great, but it took nearly 1 month to recieve grinder back, when i was told at most it would be a couple weeks, had to call multiple times to get a run around. And when it was finally near the time to pick it up after calling multiple times i got a straight answer.

Hard to believe a receptionist would give a stranger and potential customer attitude within 5 seconds of answering the phone. First impressions are everyrhing, and it cost them my business, no one is entitled to my business, they need to earn it.

Great people. We rely on them for equipment and landscape supplies to keep our business up and running! It really says something when the owner comes in at 430 am to load salt. Appreciate the effort making us a more reliable company for our customers!

Working 7 days a week trying to build a company from nothing You rely on places like this to help you grow and move forward in your endeavours. When customers feel ripped off and are told they received something they NEVER GOT or ask for but was charged for. Well This was my experience here with these guys. I know tend to go a bit over board but i have schools and other parking lots that im Counted on for clearing and charging a resonable cost. So for my review I have to give them 1 star. I hope you guys can learn we all make mistakes and own them as I do when I make them. Sincerely The little guy that apparently don't matter Picture is what I got...sand is what it looks like sand no mix but billed for mix and double cost for this small amount of salt 313. For what was pictured.. Beware this place and rude staff
