Great beach experience

We got all the tools needed for a permit. And spend our time between the hotel for napping, food, etc. And the rest sucking up the sun on the beach... with plenty of trails open. We both had our fair share of fun, sun, shell and rock collecting. Plus we both got some great pictures of the 40 plus seals lined up on the sandbar relaxing... had to walk to that area... being out there with a great marriage partner is great.
We also learned we can rent a room or the whistler room for a week..
Ps. There is little to no cell service at the lighthouse.... ahhh.

It was February; cold and rainy, having snowed the day before. But could still walk to the beach and see the surf!

Beautiful place to drive your vehicle on the beach.

A lovely place to visit with the family. The bea h is great and facilities are well maintained.

NPS rangers excellent. Helped explain rules. Patient and professional. Porto potty at station before getting on sand. The air compressors are very fast. Make sure to have a decompressor handy as well.

It's a fabulous way to get to the beach!

It's touch and go between erosion and shore birds. Lots of erosion from winter storms.

No complaints about the station or staff, however the beach routes are closed entirely for most of the summer, I get the preservation of plovers nesting, that's fine but can we find a balance between the publics desire to have routes open and the birds. It gets worse every year, may as well keep it closed totally , ridiculous

Easy process to get a pass. Driving over sand is fun. Make sure you have your safety equipment. The local hardware store can set you up for about $50.
