Office priced me at .35 cents/lb for clean cast aluminum and wrote a check for .18 cents/lb for irony steel and sheet aluminum. When I requested the material back he said “the check is already written” and could not cancel the transaction. Big time scam.
After going to 7 different places looking for a heavy duty piano type hing I was finaly directed to MD. METALS. They had exactly what I needed. Excellant price.
I like having Maryland Metals around because they're a good place to go to for certain materials. For example, Tractor Supply doesn't carry 1" square steel tubing but MM does. I've also picked up scrap stock for blacksmithing there for pretty cheap.
