The check out process is insane one employee has to check you out at self checkout meanwhile multiple self checkout stations sit unused what's the point of having them i would say this store doesn't care about their customers having us wait in ridiculous long lines because they have trust issues and they have security

Knit Long sleeve with ruffle, soft, warm, so cute! It's my favorite! Only @2nd Ave would I find such gems in excellent quality.

The check out lines now are ridiculously LONG. Used to be my favorite thrift store, but they no longer trust customers to check themselves out. They overwork the one or two employees checking people out. They have 9 self check-out lines and only use one to have an employee check you out. I like their products, their employees are nice and helpful. they have a clean restroom, but the check-out process is discouraging.

Used to have great prices, but now some stuff is more expensive than the store it came from . Now it’s overpriced, none of the self checkout registers are open, and long line. Very disappointing

This is a fantastic thrift store. So much selection, great prices. Highly recommend!!

This thrift lets a specific customer browse racks before even on the floor. And ofc he picks every nice thing before it even hits the floor. Store allows it. Unfairness. Don’t waste your time here cause THEY GONNA LET buddy pick it before you even have the chance.

I will never shop at this store again. It amazes me as a black person no matter where I go I am followed around the store, and by my own people at that! No one greeted me or asked me if I needed help but every time I turn around someone is just watching me. Here’s a tip; if you’re going to follow people around the store be helpful. I didn’t even realize there were two empty open self check out registers because 3 employees were standing around as I waited in line to pay for my items. If you’re going to watch me the least you could’ve done was direct me to the available self check outs. As I’m folding and bagging my items the employees are literally just standing over me not saying anything. It’s weird because I’m already at the check out, you already followed me throughout the entire store make it make sense. As a person who has worked in retail for several years please learn to engage with customers and not assume someone is going to steal just because they are black! It’s not that hard. I am disgusted.

So... I paid to do labor AND got treated like a criminal at 2nd Ave today 😔. I left my purse in my workbag on accident and ran to grab it from the car before I jumped in line. I gave a heads up to the jewelry lady before I left to see if they could keep an eye on my cart. When I finished ringing myself up, the jewelry lady (low ponytail, possibly middle eastern) came over and stood DIRECTLY in front of me with a straight face/arms crossed as if she was trying to catch me stealing (...at a thrift store lol). I showed her my receipt and she checked every line with her finger and even checked the lining INSIDE of my shoes and gloves. She smiled and turned on her "customer service" once everything on my receipt made sense, but I felt violated: # 1: They didn't check anyone else's receipt except mine. She was behind the glass until I was in line to make matters feel worse. #2 Earlier, another clerk made me help her move a box from the shelf. She was nice, but I am not an employee nor was I paid. The other women just had spacial awareness issues and kept telling people to move. It was really uncomfortable but I did get a laugh from that with another shopper. If you're so worried about people stealing, put people on the floor to actually ring things up and monitor us vs flirting with the dreadhead man, laughing and waving that pink phone around 🙄. The panhandlers outside were more friendly and social than the team that was there today. Hire them.

1. No fitting rooms: how am I supposed to know the clothing fits or look good on me??? 2. No refunds, only exchanges. 3. Self-check out: why I doing someone else’s job?

03/16/2024- The Sassy Soulful Sisters ( Rolanda and Natasha) ventured out to try to find an outfit for a music gig coming up on March 17th! Love this store! I always have a great time looking for deals! Had fun!

Good quality clothing that's well organized by size and type, and a good selection of housewares and linens. Prices are on the higher side, which seems to be the trend for several larger thrift stores. Also has some new items like socks. They have half-off sales around major holidays like Memorial Day, Labor Day and Thanksgiving (recently just for clothes, shoes, and accessories), when you can score great finds at really good prices.

Went here yesterday for the 1st time and was very disappointed with their prices. , extremely high they want it $4 49 for a used baby board book. I can go to the store and get one brand new. I looked through the baby clothing and I decided not to buy anything because I can go to the store and buy something for the same price. Not sure why their prices are so high, they get their stuff for free. I'm sure most people shopping there are there because they want to find a good deal not Pay Department store prices.

I did not have a good shopping experience at this store. At self checkout, One of the workers literally went thru my stuff claiming something didn't ring up. It's just how she did it. I only had a few items. After realizing she was wrong, I received no Apology after being treated like a Thief and being embarrassed in front of everybody. Note to 2nd Avenue..get rid of all those Self checkouts and hire Cashiers if you don't trust anyone! Also, your generic response to this review is not needed. Just do better.

Don't associate with a store that is as racist and discriminatory as this one. There are other 2nd Avenue stores in the area (Laurel and Columbia are fantastic) that are more deserving of your money. Their generic responses to the negative reviews only confirm that they don't care about the fact that they are creating negative shopping experiences for customers.

I am sad to say todays visit was very uncomfortable as I was followed by several staff members from when i first entered. Initially there was an older blackwoman watching at the front as well as 3 staff going one aisle over to watch me. I felt so awkward I left as soon as I could. Because I am black with locs and dressed in casual wear does not equal a thief. Upon going to self checkout there was again the older black man, one young woman that looked hispanic, two black men literally standing over me as I am at the register doing self checkout. It was one point where I was trying to look something up but the man was literally on my neck lol. I don't drive and had already called an uber so i bought my items but will not be returning. Please visit at your own discretion. I now understand the other negative reviews. I had visited here before in 2020 with no issues but today was disappointing and hurtful.

I went out on Black Friday, all clothes, shoes & accessories were 50% off. They have self Check out counters, so things move pretty fast. The selection was good enough for me, as far as thrift shopping is concerned.

I have been to the 2A thrift store in Laurel and Columbia. This one is nothing like those ones. It was incredibly cramped, and overwhelming. We went at 2 PM on a Tuesday and it was packed. The isles were super tight. In my 10-15 minutes inside the store, here are some of the fun things I experienced. Unaware customers blocking the isle. Unaware employees blocking the isle. About nine employees meandering around the store. I have no idea what they were doing, but they added to the crowd. Screaming children. An employee literally throwing wooden decor into a bin. A line to check out, with only three of the eight self checkouts available. When I walked up to check out, the employee managing the self checkouts accidentally closed it off in front of me, only to reopen it. Overall just a disorganized mess.

The employees were extremely rude. As I was looking at a rack of clothes, one lady comes and take the clothes off the rack so I can’t look anymore and says “ you’re done”. I told her I wasn’t done but she continued to ignored me. Another lady puts my clothes back as I’m trying on clothes. ( she told me to put my clothes there) Lastly, one Hispanic short lady, stands entirely too close to me and pushes pass me to get a rack to put clothes back. Not caring I was looking for my items the previous lady put back. Extremely unprofessional. Prices are overpriced. I expected better.

Organized enough. I can only assume things were out of place due to customers putting things back where they don't go. We did find some really cool stuff and the prices were great. It was packed with people! The parking lot is much too small. Everyone had to make 2 or 3 point turns to back out of a spot without hitting another car.

I love that this thrift store has discount days for certain colored tags. It does get busy on the sale days, and there are no returns. Check to make sure your items have a price tag or you can't purchase the item.

This is my absolutely FAVE place to go thrifting. They have the best quality shoes, shirts, denims and dresses. I've found tons of great finds and dress them up so exquisite, you'd never know they were found at a thrift store. I also get great housewares here. It's one of the BEST in the region in terms of quality clothing and while they can be pricey, you get what you pay for and on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays, they have 50% off certain colored tags, they rotate. I hesistate telling too many people about this place bc it is already super crowded on weekends and on their big entire store 50% holidays.

My favorite thrift spot, found a lot of hidden gems here, however, they do not think we know they remove the colored 50% off tags on Sundays and Mondays...lol a former employee told me this. Sad but I like this place! Lots of name brand clothing, designer jeans, such as ann taylor, banana republic, citizens of humanity, joe's jeans, etc... on the low... got a pair of $300 jeans for $7. I love it... The store smells like a thrift store but you can get pass the smell when you find hidden gems.:)

It's okay but most the time when you go in there and smells like dirty clothes. On the weekends it gets quite crowded during the daytime so the earlier you get there the better. There is a high volume of customers that visits this location so it is hard to find anything at a good deal.
Jun 12, 2019 -
Village Thrift Store is a high-volume high-turnover thrift store. Weekend and sale days can get very crowded. The quality of most of the items is good. There are a few high end designer items at the front of the store. Occasionally treasures can be found.
Mar 26, 2019 -
Color coordinated items, wide aisles, good prices. You can hear the workers in the back sorting through the inventory. Some not taking care of items which can be heard dropping or breaking. Sale or discount days can be hectic with long check out lines.

This thrift store goes through regular changes on what they carry. Sometimes they'll have 8 used car seats or booster seats and then none the next time. Sometimes some furniture and then none at all. I like this place for kids shoes and women's clothes. They're a little bit pricey and the sales (50% off certain color tags on Sunday and Monday) are usually only on colors that are picked over. However, they have a lot of clothes and shoes in decent condition.

This is an excellent place to shop at whether you are looking for good deals or your finances require you to shop here. Discounts are applied to items with specific colored tags, and the colors change every day. The place is very clean and organized. The employees are very useful in answering questions, and the lines are quick.
