After returning from three months of life-saving cancer treatment, I found my car’s brakes seized and rotors rusted from sitting idle in Maryland humidity. Darren and his team immediately diagnosed the issue, explained the cause, and quickly got to work. They kept me updated on costs, worked promptly, and had me safely back on the road in no time. What really stood out was the kindness. Darren personally checked in on other potential needs for my car and offered budget-friendly referrals to help make life easier as I recover. Professional, transparent, and genuinely caring—this is a team you can trust.

Went in because my check connectivity light came on. I have a few mechanic friends but thought I’d get it done myself as they are further out. They quoted me $1300 which is outrageous. I do not recommend this place - prices are inflated. I’m not sure if they thought I was stupid. Anyways took it down the street and paid $600.

10/10. Brought my Volvo in after getting a $3,500 estimate from another shop. Several big ticket items listed in the first estimate for repair that did not need any work (supercharger reseal and alternator, both of which were fine). Lake Liberty identified the actual problem, and fixed it. Saved me $2,500. Getting this second opinion was well worth the extra time. Walter was great. He explained everything, and had my vehicle back to me in under 24 hours. This is my go-to shop from now on.

I went to Lake Liberty on 6/12/25 for a simple tire plug and was charged $30—double what I usually pay for this service. I didn’t ask the price beforehand because this is typically a $15 job at most shops. As a Black woman, I can’t help but feel taken advantage of. Transparency and fairness are basic expectations in any business, and unfortunately, I didn’t feel I received either. I won’t be returning, and I hope they reconsider how they treat all customers moving forward.

I came here to fix a flat tire a couple of months ago. A couple of days ago after parking the car for a few days it started losing pressure in the same tire. I came back here to get it checked, said it was their plug. Indeed, it was the old plug. They changed it at no cost and I was on my way in 5 minutes.

I live nearby, so I tried Lake Liberty for an oil change. Not only did they do the full service, but they also noticed that one of my tires was leaking at the rim. They took off the tire, cleaned up the rim, and remounted it, and now a few months later, it's holding pressure perfectly. Incredible service, and super nice. Will be back.

I’ve gone here twice in the past couple months. First, my car had a flat and was towed in. Got two new tires and they were very helpful. This past week I took a 2012 mini cooper in to have them inspect it, prior to my purchase of the car. Lonnie did a great job and he was very helpful telling me what I should know before purchasing the car. This is a wonderful neighborhood mechanic.

Car had to be towed in on a Wednesday morning, it was diagnosed and repaired by Thursday lunch time. Great communication with a real person about diagnoses and costs the whole way. Highly recommend. Independent small businesses are the best. Full disclosure, I have operated and consulted for small business most of my career. I have no personal or professional connection with Lake Liberty.

I took my car here for a 2nd opinion after the dealership quoted me a really expensive price for a repair. It seemed abnormally high to me so I brought it to lake liberty and they replaced the part for about 75% of what the dealership had wanted to charge. Everyone was really friendly and helpful. I have permanently moved all my car maintenance here moving forward.

Great experience. Just want to thank the technician that helped me with my flat tire during morning rush hour today. Nothing but courteous and excellent service at Lake Liberty... will bring my car back in the future.

They issued FAILD result state vehicle inspection for my Subaru 2024 model. My car that had gone through Subaru service a week before. They did it as the films were 17% darker and I had to pay $140 invoice. They could ask me to remove the films before issuing the report that they didn't do. After issuing the negative report they "kindly" provided me with a tel. number of an other service where I coul remove films for another $150 saying nothing about my time wasted and nervousnes they made me to face.

Nothing like traveling on labor day and that low tire pressure alert ⚠️ comes on and drops fast. we got off the next exit and found this lil gas station. we assumed they were closed but once we started changing the tire a gentleman came out to help us. they were able to remove our tire quickly, plug it, put it back on and send us back on the road.

Pulled in about 5:15 p.m. Saturday evening needing one of my tires plugged to stop a leak (had a nail in the middle of the tread). I had already mounted the spare tire to drive to Mario’s. It was raining and I was in a suit and tie. Jonathan gladly fixed the leaking tire, mounted it back on my car, and stowed the spare tire. He was courteous and willing to help out late on a Saturday night with no appointment. We just sat in Starbucks next door for a short time and were back in the road quickly. And the price was reasonable. Jonathon saved our day. Thank you!

Had a tire issue on a Saturday and they quickly spotted and removed a nail from tire and put air in. Fair price and all done under 15 minutes. Highly recommend!

This auto shop has the kindest most helpful providers. A few months ago I had recurrently low tire pressure. The team helped me troubleshoot, realized the issue was a dented rim, fixed the problem, and told me they couldn’t let me pay for the quick service. Then this morning my husband had a flat tire right as he pulled into the adjacent parking lot, and the team immediately helped him change to his spare and directed him where to get the tire fixed. We are very thankful for such a thoughtful, helpful team in our neighborhood and will always bring any issues there.

Easy process to get MD State Inspection. Made appointment, dropped car off, went next door to Starbucks for coffee and a sandwich, and picked the car up about an hour later. Staff were courteous and friendly.

I can't possibly recommend Lake Liberty more highly! This is team truly committed to making sure the customer is treated well, and I have such trust in their work and the incredible people working in Mario's shop. They've gone so far above and beyond to take care of me that I'll never be able to take my car anywhere else. I'd give them 10 stars if that were an option. A huge thank you to Mario and family for the incredible service.

Something changed at this shop for the worse. I have been a happy customer for many years. Had my car towed here this week to discover that the shop no longer: 1) gives customers any updates on what is going on, you have to guess and wait and call, 2) gives customers price estimates upfront (I was just surprised with a very steep cost for an alternator). Will be looking for another shop.

May God Bless this shop and all his Staff. This morning as I was driving to work, my car broke in the middle of the highway. I managed to move the car to Lake Liberty. I was immediately assisted by the two staffs outside. They advised me and finally refered me to their leaders for better assistance. Keany used all his professionalism to assist me and made some recommendations. After asking the car history, they did not rush like others to ask for money but they advised me and I got the car towed back to the shop whereI got some work done the day before. They did not stop there as I told them that I was heading to work. They insisted on giving me a ride to the Metro Station and took care of my car until the tow truck arrived without asking for a penny! Lake Liberty Chevy Chase you did not only save my day, you also show me that we should always care about each other. My family owed you that forever. From now on I will be coming to you for any cars' issue(Anything that rolls like you said) I have no word to describe my feeling about what you did for me today. THANK YOU!

Great service and very fair prices for their high quality work. They will tell you what you really need and are happy to give you options on parts if there are any. None of the up-selling from the dealership or the blatant ripoffs from the cheap chain stores. I have had them change my oil, repair and replace my tires, and do some diagnostic and maintenance work over several years. Everything has been great. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Several months ago someone pulled up beside me in traffic and told me that one of my brake lights was out, and I happened to be near Lake Liberty so I stopped in to see if there was any chance they could help me with it without an appointment (( had never taken my car there for service but would sometimes get gas there) . Within 15 minutes I was on my way with a new brake light for a very reasonable price. After this I looked them up online and saw that they have great reviews, so I decided to take my car to them for my next oil change, and to ask them to perform a general inspection to see if anything needed work, as someone else was going to be driving my car for three weeks while I was out of town and I didn't want any surprises. They found some issues, one of which I thought had been taken care of by a different service station back in December 2022. I contacted the other service station about it, and with my permission they called the service manager at Lake Liberty to discuss exactly what Lake Liberty had seen. I was super impressed that the service manager at Lake Liberty took the time to talk to the other service people, and I plan to start using Lake Liberty for all my car's service needs going forward. Nice people, reasonable prices, efficient, good communication. I'm really glad I found them.

Amazing! Excellent! Friendly staff! Truly a gem. I Cannot tell you the last time I've visited a full service station. They pump gas for you, free of charge! Awesome automotive mechanics on site to assist, and conveniently located prior to me jumping onto 495. I'll definitely be back!

Been going to this place ever since I got my first car (+10yrs). Late 2019, they quote me $2,100 for a simple muffler fix. Coworker instantly informed me it was a rip-off and suggested I go to a muffler shop. Had the entire thing done for $600 and haven’t had a problem since. Couldn’t believe it, as Lake Liberty was supposed to be the go-to trustworthy shop just down the street. Contact me if you want specifics. Happy to provide them.

Honest mechanics. They've refused my money several times for simple things (or helping me decide I don't need to do something). But the best feature is that, because of the service station, they're open until 10:00 every night for drop off and pickup. A bit more expensive than folks we used to use in Rockville, but still very good value. And they'll fill up your car while they have it in the shop, which is convenient.

I have a vintage Mercedes and would not trust anyone else but Lake Liberty to service it. I have always received outstanding service from them. No one is more knowledgeable, polite or fair than they are today and always have been. Even when getting a referral for specific issues relating to my car, I have been so pleased with them. It's a throwback to the days when people who offered a service delivered with competence and grace. I love going there, be it for gas or service. There is always a smiling face and a desire to please. After the last (and only) snow the splash shield under the engine of my Prius was partially detached and was dragging. I went to the station and they fixed it for no charge! And, as I waited I witnessed one of the gentlemen giving advice to a customer regarding what they thought the best small SUV was. They went out of their way to help. I wish more service providers had this kind of attitude. And on top of all that they consistently have a great price for gas. I would go nowhere else.
