Trash service is ok, just wish our bins were as big as the last company we had and we had twice a week pick up service.

Just got a message from Waste Management saying they cancelled the large item pickup because it's "not available in my area". 🤬 They didn't say anything about that when I paid $200+ to schedule this service 3 weeks ago. Also chat support just told me if I want a refund I need to call them. I dragged that giant mattress outside and 50 ft down my driveway by myself last night, now it's going to rain tonight and that mattress will be twice as heavy after. I'm having to pay a private company $350 for same day pickup.

Waste Management Disposal Service is a very professional service that reaches out to the community clients. They serve clients who aim to promote a better environment by taking great care of all our disposal needs safeguarding and achieve a green atmosphere Whenever there is a rescheduling requirement removing disposal when that occurs, we are promptly notified by email; I find their Communication through emails highly effective, proficient, and satisfactory at all times.

Trash pickup haa been GREAT!! Very reliable & dependable. Also, I very much appreciate that after my trash container is emptied, your rep pushes my container up my driveway and puts it against my house. I'm recovering from a broken hip and leg, so this extra service is a big help to me. Thank you very much!!

Great service! My regular pickup person is outstanding, and when I get a chance to interact with him, he is the ultimate professional, attentive, and friendly. He is an excellent representative of WM and you should be proud to have him as an employee.

In the last 6 months the garbage company has gone a whole mouth with out picking up recycling and has had back to back weeks of not picking up the trash. To the point where my HOA had to send a letter about my trash can being out. When I call corporate they have no reason why it’s not getting picked up.

Horrible. I have had service postponed 10 times this year for weeks on end in La Plata. I now have to either pay for a bulk pickup because of all the extra trash (because I dont have an empty can to put it in, because they havent emptied it in almost 2 weeks now). The best part is when you try customer service, there's no way to get in contact with anyone to try to resolve the issue. To top it off, I'm still being charged for weekly service even though that hasn't happened consistently since January.

WM is garbage, no pun intended. From the pick-up schedule or lack there of, to the customer service, nothing here works as it should. They only come once a week in my neighborhood but they don't even do that as consistently as they should. If you are supposed to come on Friday, don't send me a message Friday evening to inform me that you're coming NEXT Friday and not the day you were scheduled. You really think people are collecting trash? Unacceptable!

From starting service to ending service, WM have been great. Great communication when I needed an extra pick up. The price was decent for me. Will be starting service again when I purchase a new home.

WM is the worse services I have ever come across. We put out trash several times and they never picked up the trash. When we complained they lied that they came and the trash was not there. We have been trying for them to come and pick up their trash can and no one is picking up the phone. I need this trash out of my house so I can have space. Please WM sent someone to come pick up your trash can or let someone answer their calls please. Is so frustrating to deal with services like this.

I set up for new services on the 13th of January. I was charge up front 68 dollars because of the month of January and two containers. I received an email stating my trash would be Picked up on the 22nd of January. So when I never received a container and today is the 21st I decided to put a call into WM. My first dealing with customer support was disheartening as I was placed on hold and hung up on, along with miscommunication. I was told due to an inventory issue I was pushed back another week. To the 29. My trash is already piled up. I live in a rural area where animals will have a buffet style dinner outside. I was told by one rep to place the bags outside and they would pick them up. She hung up I called back another rep said they wouldn’t pick up trash without it being in a bin from them. I have had trash piling up since the 13th. Paid a month of service for them to only come once for the whole month of January absolutely not. Beware customer support is almost nonexistent as I been on hold 30mins just to cancel service because st this point I can just take my trash to the dump. Not staying with a company to be treated like that. Oh yea they said my bill would be prorated but I paid 68 dollars up front card was already charged in the 13. Service charge is 38 per month so prorated where 🧐🧐🧐

New residential trash service customer in La Plata, they delivered the container late so far have missed a combined 5 service dates (scheduled and rescheduled) so far in less than 1 month since my service began. Avoid this company. I will be cancelling as soon as possible, their online chat sucks.

I opened my account a month ago, I have only had my trash picked up once and it was 2 days after scheduled pickup day. WM has failed to provide the service I signed up for. They have gas lighted me saying trash was not out the first time my pickup was missed, told me to send pics and gave me a non working email address!! I would not use WM, total disappointment.

We are new to the southern maryland area and so far the waste management experience is pretty bad. It’s going on 3 weeks that our trash has not been picked up. It’s constantly being rescheduled (see screenshots). Our trash is piling up as we have an infant and the animals and critters are starting to get into the trash as a result of it laying out for weeks on end. The one and only positive remark I will add is that we contacted customer support and they sent a manger out to pick up our trash on one occasion due to the constant rescheduling.

WM started out great but has declined rapidly in the last two months with missed pick ups. Throwing my bin on the curb in front my neighbors house after I contacted for non pickup on my scheduled day.

What the heck is going on Waste Management? Did all of your drivers quit on you??? There is a major problem. From what I can tell, your declining service is occurring everywhere in Maryland service areas. I’ve even seen it reported on the news. complaints are everywhere. We too have been experiencing the identical issues that all of the other current and former customers are reporting here in the reviews. We are also long time customers. Service was great up until the past 2 months. Since then, WM has not been picking up our trash weekly, and per the contractual agreement. The WM app is useless as the ability to report anything concerning service has been shutdown. The customer service phone line is a complete joke. Extremely long wait times and IF by chance someone actually answers or calls you back it is useless information - basically lip service. Your lack of concern clearly shows in your responses to each of these reviews. IF I get someone on the phone line tomorrow, I too will be canceling my service and will proceed with dropping off my cans in your White Plains MD location.

I thought it couldn't get any worse that my last company, but I signed up with WM. I thought they was a pretty professional company because of the app and they would alert you if they was late etc. But I was proven wrong!!! They missed the trash pick up so when I called I was told we will get it the next day. That promise went on for 5 days. So they finally pick up the trash Now my regular trash day comes around and they tell me I have been rescheduled for the following week!!!!!! ARE U KIDDING ME!!!! DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE THIS TRASH COMPANY IS TRASH. THEY ARE NOT RELIABLE AND UNPROFESSIONAL.GO FIND ANOTHER COMPANY I PROMISE YOU AVOID THE HEADACHE!!!!!!

My experience with WM is 3 stars there were several instances when my trash was not picked up and another occasion when it wasn't picked up and I went online only to see that the driver had posted that my cans were not out;that was totally untrue as I always set my cans out Monday night. I called WM and was told my trash would be picked up on Friday needless to say it wasn't picked up until the following Tuesday;I at that point made a decision to terminate my service.

My service started out bad...with no pickup in January. Now, I'm beyond frustrated with the inconveniency in service. Service was missed on 6/20 and picked up on 6/24. The mobile app failed to notify of the correct pick-up day. Service was missed again on 6/27 with no explanation. Contacted WM Customer Service who scheduled a pickup same day with no prior coordination. If WM wants their payment on time, then why can't they pickup on their regular scheduled day, Thursday (on time). WMCare apologize and sent a driver out same day without prior coordination or contacting me. Unacceptable the lack of communication and inconveniency in service.

Multiple missed pickups, sometimes weeks in a row. For the price, get service elsewhere. Impossible to reach when it comes to questions about pickup. They miss a pickup and reschedule for weekends, miss again and nobody to talk to until Monday. Pretty ridiculous. Also will say they serviced trash then I go out to get my can and its still full. Either they picked up the wrong one, or where lazy and said they did it so they didnt have to bother picking up my location, since I'm the only one in my area using WM. Avoid.

I have been with WM for over 20 years, since I moved in my home. A new company came to the neighborhood a few years ago, and most of my neighbors changed. I stayed with WM even though the other company was cheaper. The last month (May 24) the service has went down terribly. I have had to call because they were not picking up my trash. I finally decided the cancel my service because nothing changed. The last week of service they did not pickup my trash at all (even when I called daily) Now they want to charge me $87.00 to pick up my can. I'm really disappointed with the service i have had lately after having great service for over 20 years. I hope they get my trash today!!!!!

We initiated service and began automatic payments (only option given by WM). They later email you with a date for your first pick up service. We received the email the next day with our first service date, so we prepared and left our bin (left by previous home owner who moved out of state) out for the night before. No show. Checked their app to see that they changed the pickup to the next morning, so we left our bin out. Again no show. Checked the app again, and they had the audacity to put that they were unable to service our property due to the bin not being available 😒 at this point I conducted the chat service from their website and reported my issue... they said they would send them out ASAP but due the holiday they were unsure when they would show, but we should leave our bin out as early as Monday (which makes zero sense because it was Memorial Day - still no show and it's now Tuesday afternoon) so now we're hoping that they grace us with their presence on our next scheduled pick up day (Thursday) and honor the service that we've paid for...

I gave one star only because negative stars wasn't available. First they missed my initial trash pick-up Secondly they scheduled to deliver a tote before my service was supposed to start. Since then they have re-scheduled the tote delivery (FIVE TIMES). When my second trash deliver was scheduled I was told to put my trash outside in bags and they would pick up. As such the birds tore open the bags and I had trash all over my front yard. The driver picked up the bags and stepped over the trash. I still don't have my tote and has been pushed back to next week. When you call they are very polite and then FAIL to deliver. It looks like I will be picking up trash from my lawn again next week because I have ZERO confidence they will actually deliver it as promised.

We have used them here for coming up on 2 years now. They are almost always on schedule, and when they will have to miss a pickup, they indicate it on the online portal, and usually send a text notification as well. My can is returned neatly back to its spot and I have never noticed any trash left on the roadside or in our driveway after pickup. The cost of their services is a bit higher than the other options available here, but having used the others and found them infuriatingly unprofessional and unreliable, it's worth the extra for WM's consistency and good service. They are also responsive and helpful if you need to call them with any questions or issues, which is another area in which the other local options miss the mark. The one service I wish they offered here was recycling pickup, although given the state of recycling at landfills and transfer stations in St Mary's County, that may be a failure on the part of county resources rather than availability of WM trucks and staff. They do a great job, and I plan to stick with them.

I’m prior military and moved a lot, so I’ve used several trash removal companies. WM is the best trash removal service that I’ve ever had! They have a great service notification system. So you’re always notified of any service schedule changes in a timely manner. However, the most contributing factor for my 5 star review, is due to their Sanitation Engineer who has the Hollywood, MD route. He’s always on time, friendly, and continuously goes above and beyond! Which is very rare these days. Please make sure you give him the accolades he deserves. He’s the reason that I renewed my WM service contract at my current location and when I move in a couple of months, he will be the reason that I will be acquiring WM trash service for my next address.
