We have been going here for a few years and I wish I had written a review sooner. I know I have recommended them many if times to others. Our last service didn’t go as planned and I have never had a shop that went above and beyond to make it right. Thank you Ralph- I know this one wasn’t easy.
Had both front strut assemblies replaced and Ralph did an excellent job. My appointment was at 8:00 AM and he finished by 9:00 AM.
Overall, excellent quality and wonderful service skills.
Ralph and the entire team are honest, fair and trustworthy. I’ve done business with him for many years now and I feel comfortable bringing any of our vehicles to them. He’s not just there to rip you off and tell you anything to make a quick buck. He actually cares to take his time and make sure he knows what’s wrong or if it’s something simple that may not be needed urgently. That kind of upstanding business practice makes you want to take time to give a special shout out to.
Knowledgeable service and reasonable. Also, completes work in a timely manner. Courteous service. Recommended by a friend and have met other acquaintances at the shop.
To brought my van, mechanic said there something wrong inside the engine, and they cannot fix it. I had to pay $130 for nothing. Don’t bring your vehicle there if you know it has a major problem, bring to a better one. I think they only fixes brakes and calipers
There are only a few honest shops in Southern Maryland and this is one of them. They always come through with fixing your car and they’re honest trustworthy and very very reasonable. I’ll continue to go back as long as I live here. Thanks, Ralph and the guys.!
Prices were average in my opinion, but the thing that pissed me off was back in Sep I paid a $900.00 bill for a complete tune up and my truck ran like trash afterwards and I had no time to return it due to working 2 jobs, I just found out they only gave me 4 new coils and plugs, my truck takes 8 and I still have not replaced them , then I paid $1500 for a new catalytic converter and asked for my old one and they took the material out of the old one, I’m never allowing them to steal from me again, I would never take my vehicle back there or recommend them to anyone
The prices are great, but I gave this company 2 stars because my car was in this shop every week for an oil leak for at least a month and a half. We have no problems paying for parts and labor, but if we are paying for a service we expect it to be done at least within the first three times. Every time my car would be in the shop for 3 days, I would prefer that you keep it for 5 if the job is going to be done right and the issue doesn't keep returning. Currently looking for a new mechanic that will correct the problem within the first 1-2 tries. *Update* Called and spoke to Ralph who remembers the entire situation. Ralph requested I bring the car back due to me bringing the car in during a busy season and now that things are slower they can take a better look at it. I will add another star for the offer, but will need to discuss with spouse if we would like to take it back.
**Update 11/4/24**
Took the car back on Monday, picked it up Thursday. I waited a couple days to see if the car would leak and it didn't. Upgraded review to 4 stars for asking to correct the problem and finally finding and fixing the problem. Thanks Ralph.
I’ve been getting work done here for many years and over 2 different cars and their work is always impeccable. They do great work with e very reasonable cost and timeline. I got here for all my car woes.
I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Ralph and his team are EXCELLENT. I dropped off my car with an issue I've been trying to handle myself for MONTHS and in less than 4 hours they fixed it! I doubt I'll be trying to handle these issues by myself from now on. Perfectly reasonable price too! I can't thank y'all enough!
Great auto mechanic shop that have reasonable prices and great customer services. Ralph the owner who is very knowledgeable in his craft makes sure he gives you a thorough explanation on what is going with your vehicle

Extremely rare to find an honest mechanic who actively tries to save you money and will talk you out of getting unnecessary maintenance performed on your car because it's just not time yet. Wouldn't take my vehicles anywhere else.
I became a loyal customer of Southern Maryland Auto after meeting Ralph and his team over 30 years ago when I lived in Pomfret, Maryland. I now live in Clinton, Maryland and my thoughts never stray to another mechanic. His work is excellent, he is so honest and prices are more than fair. His rating is 200% and then some.

I was in a bind with my wife’s SUV. They were very honest about what had to be repaired. They did the work right away and were extremely fair on the cost! I highly recommend their service.
I hired them to change some very difficult parts in our Vehicle. They greeted us with hospitality and had the tasks completed in a timely manner. Great people, definitely would recommend.

Take your car here for repair, etc. Knowledgeable mechanics, quick turnaround, friendly staff, excellent work, awesome owner (Ralph). My new routers and brakes were finished SAME DAY! I can't say enough!
I love this shop. I was referred by my friend and co-worker and couldn’t be happier. Ralph is awesome and got my son’s car running again. I was so impressed I had my truck towed there today and Mike is working on it. Very honest, reasonably priced shop. I live in Oxon Hill and it’s well worth the drive!!
