Nanjemoy Country Store and Bar is a local establishment located in Nanjemoy, MD and is our go to local store. A few months ago when my husband and I ran in to pick up a few things we couldnt help but notice a wonderful smell of fried chicken coming from their kitchen. We decided to give it a try it and were pleasantly surprised. The chicken was seasoned so well, and cooked perfectly. We have since found out they offer "Taco Tuesdays" so, we tried it and again we were so impressed with the quality of the meat and flavors. We have ordered carry out Taco dinners twice now and the tacos (soft or hard) were spot on.
If you happen to be down this way kayaking on Mallows Bay or hiking in one of our many trails you should stop in and grab lunch/dinner at a table in the bar area or carry out.
They have a carry out menu with several food options.
Nice general store with good food options and a bar. Staff were friendly and so were other patrons. Nice to find this in this part of the county. We'll be back ahead.
A great place to have a meal and an adult beverage with friends on a Friday night. Open mic night and karaoke Fridays are fun and everyone is friendly and kind.
Love visiting this small down store/bar. Staff are very friendly and make you feel at home. Food is really good for being such a small spot. I recommend the steak and cheese or bang bang shrimp. Large liquor selection in the store and mis-matched items you might need around the house. A really great spot for people in the area, especially because there isn't anything else.
Went kayaking at Mallows Bay and came back hungry. Google showed this little place close by so we took a chance. They have a nice air conditioned bar area on one side with excellent food and ice cold bottled beer. Relaxed, clean and friendly staff. A little piece of heaven on a hot July day. We will definitely go there again.

Love this place so much!! I grew up down here n seen this place go through so many changes n its great to see the place back up n running g once again. To me its a land mark so.ething that reminds me of my youthful days. Everyone's welcome n the food is AMAZING !!! The prices are reasonable!! If u want a taste of homemade good food go check it out u won't be disappointed i guaranteed u wont!!!! As for people outta the area thats traveling through u won't be disappointed either!!! The kids will love the chicken tender baskets as well!!!! If ur traveling n down this way n just want a taste of a good ole home cooked meal stop in n sit awhile in the bar or u u can even go out n sit at the picnic tables with the kids if that's more comfortable while eating instead of in the bar. Either way u wont be disappointed in the food!!! Go n enjoy some good ole home made comfort food!!!
The sign that says no COLORS has to do with Motorcycle Clubs and their cuts ( vests club colors ) and nothing to do with the color of ones skin, that being said the food and service is off the chain good
I have watched this store go trough different stages over the period of 15 years. It has transformed into an Elegancy in it's own right and in comparison to what it was previously. It's not just a store nor is it just a bar. It feels almost like a community for the locals. It has a wide verity of good food making it also , in it's technicality a fast food restaurant as well. I give it 5 stars , Nanjemoy Country Store still has alot of potential in it's design as well. A rather unexpected addition to the community however much needed.
We needed to stop and pick up some supplies then, use ATM and restroom. Lady behind the counter got nasty with us and rolled her eyes. We were denied service and went elsewhere. I guess that place doesn’t like folks from out of town. Avoid, if you’re traveling through. Very unfriendly.
I love this bar! It's great having a neighborhood hang out. Live music, pool table, jukebox, and an entire store right next door! Can't beat it! Go check the place out!
The owners took great care in the redesign. A very nice store with all the essentials and clean restrooms for bar patrons. I have enjoyed several evenings of live performance. Delightful!
