Russell up front was great to talk to, very nice. Fixed my car and charged me a good price. Won't rip you off. Work was great, I will be going here again with any issues.
I am thankful to have been referred to Troy and Huntingtown Automotive over 10 years ago. Since then, I have also referred my father and brother. Troy will tell you exactly what you need to do and what is unnecessary. His honesty is very refreshing! The prices are also very reasonable! It is very easy to schedule maintenance appointments on the phone with Russell, but they will also work you in with car emergencies. Another one of my favorite things is to be able to walk the short path that Troy created to have coffee and a treat at the The Lobby coffee bar. I HIGHLY recommend Huntingtown Automotive!
I really love supporting small local businesses so I hate to have to write this review, but I feel like I have no choice.
We took my wife’s car here for multiple relatively minor repairs that were discovered while getting brake pads replaced. We went to pick up her car before the shop closed only to discover that the car had not been taken into the shop to be looked at. It is understandable to get backed up and busy, but we had a scheduled appointment and they did not contact us to let us know that it could not be finished. The car was dropped off the night before and the parts were ordered and in stock for the repairs. Strike one.
We rescheduled against our better judgment for another day in the future, and the work was completed, or so we thought. The oil change we asked to be done was not performed. Also, we were told that the tires (that were little over a year old) were worn on the car, and it was implied by an employee that it was most likely the driving style that wore them out. Great customer service. Strike two.
We ended up taking her car for an oil change (since it wasn’t done when asked for at Huntingtown) at a different quick lube spot. Upon inspection, we were told that there was a substantial leak by the valve cover gasket. Imagine our surprise because this was a repair that was supposed to be completed by Huntingtown. Strike three.
So we ended up having to make our fourth total trip to Huntingtown Automotive to get this finally remedied with an additional part that we somehow had to pay for.
All in all, our experience was a complete failure. Customer service, shoddy/incomplete repairs, having to pay for those missing repairs, and taking off three days from work instead of one leaves a very bad impression. Very unfortunate.
Edit to respond to the owner response: Your response is not accurate. We came once to fix the brakes the first time and scheduled a follow up on 6/4 to get the other items done. That is the day that nothing was done and we had to physically come to the shop to find out. The following visit was when the fan/gasket were replaced, and the last visit was when the gasket issue was fixed again. Four visits, two more than necessary, and one where nothing was done and we were not notified until coming to pick up the car. I would prefer not to go round and round about this, but I am not fabricating things.
Mechanics like this are what I love about being back in a small town, there were a few issues when doing some repairs on my truck, I’ve had issues in the past when dealerships have tried to swindle or take advantage of me, these guys were open and honest about things, I especially appreciated having things explained to me in a way I could understand. They will definitely have my business in the future, Troy & Troy were super helpful and patient with me!
If I could simply give more than 5 stars, I would. I took my car today for a last minute oil change before I drive to Indiana to visit family because no dealership could fit me in. I had a request for a replacement of a busted fog light, and dropped my car off this evening. They said it would be finished by morning. The price paid is literally half of any dealership. The kindness they showed me was above and beyond. Highly HIGHLY recommend servicing your vehicles here. I will be a customer of theirs from here on out.
Wife and I have been using Huntingtown Automotive for a long time, Troy has been the best mechanic that we have found. He’s very fare with his pricing and honest, if he doesn’t think it’s worth fixing he will let you know and then you decide if you want to have the repairs done. All of his employees treat your vehicle like it’s there own.
Great first experience! Tire repair right before a holiday weekend. Troy and team were quick, thorough, and professional, and the cost was very affordable. Really appreciate his experience and his heart for service!
Amazing experience. Extremely knowledgeable, great communication, saved me money on parts as well. Highly recommend as they became my "go-to" for all my vehicle servicing after giving them a shot.
If you need service on your vehicle and you DON’T go here then you have made a mistake. Maybe that’s a little over the top but not by much. Great service, honest and quick turnaround. Finding a mechanic you trust is hard. These guys fit the bill.
Great service and very high quality work. Only potential issue is that they are rather short staffed these days- long booking times and waits. This doesn't take away from the service, though. Overall a great experience. They also take care of veterans with a modest discount on labor!
I was having some problems with my 1999 Ford Ranger to the point where my wife didn't feel comfortable being it. Troy fixed it up with a solid alignment and new tires mounted. And now it's our smoothest riding vehicle that we own! I recommend this shop to anyone and Troy is a stand up guy. He goes above and beyond for his community.

This was the first time I had been at Huntingtown Automotive and it was a fantastic experience. Everyone was very nice to me and my wild 2 year old. They were very professional and let me know what was going on with my car and explained things very well. I'll be going there for car maintenance and service from now and I reccomend everyone in the area do the same. The owners dog Ky is also a big plus!
First I’d like to say I have not been to this location before with any of my vehicles. But I met the owner today when my car died on w.dares beach road and Solomon’s road intersection. Not only did he take time out of his day, to help me (and the help of the sheriff that was there as well.) to help get my car in to neutral and pushed to the side of the road. If the quality of work (which I am in no doubt) matches the quality of the person that owns this shop. It is then beyond my expectations. And he has definitely gained a customer in regard to my family. If I could give more stars I would. Thank you for being an amazing human being and helping someone in need.
These guys seem to troubleshoot car issues as experienced technicians and answer my questions before I ask them. Some other garages I’ve been to it seemed like they’d just throw parts at an issue and charge full price each time. Huntingtown Automotive is more precise in their diagnosis and repairs, especially for classic cars.
I’m new to the area, when I hit a deer my car was towed here. My overall experience regarding the repair of my car was terrible, but not because of the service I got here! The “terrible” is 100% due to my insurance company!! (Kemper) I mostly spoke with Russell, who was always courteous and took very good care of me, but anyone I spoke with did a very good job of answering my questions and were very helpful. I hope I never have another run in with a deer, but any repair I need on my car in the future, I know where to bring it, to the good people at Huntington Automotive! And I definitely changed my insurance company…
Always prompt friendly service at fair prices. They have repeatedly done honest work, never over charging or taking advantage for work that didn't need to be done. I only use this shop, as do my children who drive an hour for their great service. I recommend them to anyone!
Great and quick service, my car had a few extra issues that I decided to take care of, very knowledgeable and friendly staff!! I would gladly put money into my 11 year old car that's in great shape than new payments!! This is my new go to shop!!!

This is our second experience. The first was a dear friend who they got right in and got a tire rotation and balance the same day !!! Another is a last minute family emergency and we needed an oil change at the end of the day, and they didn’t hesitate!!!! I highly recommend them. And they are all very friendly

Terrible owner who had a terrible attitude toward my driver. Wanted him to drop thr vehicle inside the bay, but did not care about the insurance liabilities. Would never recommend to any of ny client base die to thr filthy language and attitude he exhibited toward the people that bring him the business. Would apprecaite if they were more cooperative.
Had an out of state family in need of emergency brake replacement to get them home. Contacted Huntingtown Automotive and work was completed within 24hrs
At the same time my vehicle was in need of brakes. Also completed within 24 hrs, along with Emergency radiator replacement which was completed within 24hrs. Great shop, great guy, Troy fixed my vehicle and did all the necessary repairs and saved me over 500.00 by infor.ing me i didnt need all the other things i was quoted from another local shop.
