Worst landfill ever. The tire killer. They make you take regular vehicles back to the large commercial dump site and back them up onto every contractors loose screws and nails. They claim they are understaffed to let customers use the cans. Lazy and incompetent

After it relocated from Lusby, it’s more clean, nice and so reliable. It’s the best landfill around the Southern Maryland.

My company Site Services had a great experience with the Appeal Landfill. We are doing demolition on an old house in a state park and needed a reliable location for our debris. Craig was able to accomodate us when we needed a workaround for payment for these services. This was very helpful in allowing our demolition crew to keep the job moving instead of coming to a standstill. Awesome Job Guys!!!

Taxes should take care of disposing just about any product WITHOUT a fee to County Residents,Yet they have the scales and charge even more! Other then the cost its not bad but We can do even better. Yard waste should not be charged for as it can be recycled back to the public.

It smelled really bad and there was yeah everywhere. Great job!

Please update your hours of operation to reflect the difference between your landfill site and convenience center/compactor site hours. The landfill is not open on Sunday’s contrary to your posted hours online. I should not have to drive from Dunkirk to find that out after I rented a truck on a Sunday.

Well organized and the staff is friendly and helpful.

The landfill on Sweetwater Road in Lusby, is very clean, organized and it's also labeled so everyone can see where the trash goes.

Great service, first time taking a lot of junk with me and I had no clue what to do, where to go, how much to pay or anything. The woman at the scale window was very friendly and helpful.

I use the recycling center weekly and the crew there is always helpful and friendly.

Great service and friendly staff. If you are military and live in Calvert County, bring a bill or two to provide proof of residence and the fees will be waived. Location is great and the layout makes it very easy to get in, drop off, and get out. Highly recommend this place.

Prices are getting higher by the year... Was $25 for just 600lb!

When I have large amounts of yard waste construction waste for household projects I bring it here. I use a small trailer and tow it behind my car. The folks here are very accommodating and super helpful. It is way cheaper than having a bagster picked up or to have trash service come pick up a large load

I never had to pay to drop off trash at the first part of trash bins to the left. For the most part the employees are nice. One guy comes up to me EVERY SINGLE VISIT and makes sure he says hello and asks do I need help. He is so courteous and kind. The one guy there NEVER offers help unless you look up to his STANDARDS to help. I see his interactions daily and I just choose to help myself.

It's 2020 and they don't take credit cards at the landfills? Wow! Very nice drop facilities they built all through Calvert County. They could have purchased many new trash trucks to pick up household trash and recycling at your door for much cheaper I'm sure. Taxes are going up while services stagnate.

The staff at the Appeal Courtesy Center and Landfill are always courteous and helpful. Noone likes having to take out the trash but they make it as pleasant an experience as it can possibly be.

HOURS OF OPERATION-ON EVERY SITE I'VE VISITED- ARE ALL WRONG!!!! THEY ALL SAY IT IS CLOSED BY 4:00 P.M. N.O.P.E. WRONG! MONDAY THRU SATURDAY HOURS 6:00 A.M. UNTIL 7:00 P.M. SUNDAY HOURS 10:00 A.M. UNTIL 7:00 P.M. I WAS SOOOOOO CONFUSED THIS WHOLE TIME!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I PRAY EVERY ONE OF THESE SITES CHANGES TO THE CORRECT HOURS!!?????????

New facility is not very convenient with only 1 compactor for household waste. They are trying to get everyone to recycle everything. It reminds me of the old video game Frogger when people run into one another as they are trying to go from one compactor to the next. One for co-mingled, next cardboard, walk in front of the vehicles to put your 4 AAA batteries in a walk-in recycling bin. It just doesn't work and the employees agree ?

Great place, and only cost $10 for a small load.

Fairly quick in and out. They have a bee problem but they really don't bother you. They are more concerned with the garbage than you. Compactor is always full making it hard to get your garbage in it.

Only cash accepted as payment method. Expect that it could take quite a while if you have trash for which you have to pay.

They must not know what they're doing and I waited over 45 minutes for them to switch out dumpsters

I love this place, you can just drive right on up and dump off anything you don't want anymore! Plus there's an awesome recycling bin for computers where I can Harvest

You have to do everything yourself. There's trash everywhere. It's absolutely disgusting. Then they charge you to leave. Amazing
