This place is one of my aunt and uncle's favorite haunts and we went there after a great afternoon of sailing on the bay.
Kid 2 wanted some calamari to start and I had a gazpacho. I tried some of her's but she had no interest in mine. Too bad...the calamari was good but the soup was better. Really fresh tomatoes, perfectly ripe, nice little bit of zip and some wonderfully crunchy cubes of fresh cucumber rounded out the dish. I found out later that there was a little bit of jalapeño in there but a day later and no ill-effects so 2 thumbs up.
For dinner I had a crab cake. It was really chock full of of large chunks of crab, Delia=cutely seasoned and light on binders such that it fell apart when touched with a fork. I really enjoyed the healthy sear on both sides but the flavor was so enjoyable that I left the sauce that was offered on the side completely alone. That crab cake had 100% of everything I was looking for in each bite.
Dessert came in waves. The first wave included a small but incredibly potent piece of flourless chocolate cake for the kid. Next up was the order of begniets that the chef sent out for us. They were everything I was hoping for when he stopped by between apps and entrees and told us he was going to send them out for us to try. Crispy on the outside, steaming hot and tender on the inside, not in the least bit greasy - perfect! Somehow, they were made even better thanks to the addition of some house-made chocolate-cherry sauce. The next round included another piece of the flourless (because the kid wanted more after all of the adults tried "just a bite") and a piece of key lime pie. Their key lime is pretty dang good but it paled in comparison to the others.
Great service always helps me enjoy the experience when dining out.
Met up with an old friend during the Christmas holidays and it was the highlight of my holiday season. We shared appetizers and everything was good.Our waitress had great sense of humor and was wonderful.
Sunday brunch was quiet, well prepared, and served with attentiveness. I recommend the crab eggs Benedict, chicken cordon Bleu sandwich and the hummus crunch salad with salmon.
Sat outside, good view of the boats. Enjoyed the food... we had the crab dip, was decent. I had stuffed flounder, was very good. Wifey had the crab ? cake. She said it was "decent". The beignets came out hot and delicious with a delightful raspberry sauce dip. Staff were friendly. We went at 4:30p on a Saturday, dinner rush came after we arrived.
Amazing time and great service at Pirates Cove!! Maddy was an amazing waitress and made best recommendations for our table to enjoy! Phenomenal fish and chips and flavorful steak salad.
Went for lunch during the week. Great service, and good food. Had the cod fish and chips. Fish qas excellent and the fries were great. 3 of us in the party.
Four of us went here for lunch, during the week. The food, especially the shrimp salad sandwich, was excellent! Our server checked on us frequently. And the view was so relaxing. I love the pirate theme in the restaurant. We will return.
There is a small hotel next door, which I can't comment on as I have never stayed there.
Great food with amazing views! While the service is a bit harried, we didn't fault them. Weekends are crazy. So chill out with some great food & beverages and enjoy the vibe!
Bryan was an awesome host and manager! He handled a bunch a ladies, with all sorts of questions and comments ? Restaurant, staff and food were all great! Nice atmosphere. Great Day for my MMW1973 Classmates gathering.
Had a wonderful brunch with the girls today! Our server was fantastic, the food was delicious (get the Crab Benedict, trust me), and you can't beat the views!
We arrived about 5pm on a Friday and enjoyed an outstanding dinner on the deck. We didn’t stay in the guestrooms as we live locally. Love the restaurant. I believe our server’s name was Bryan - friendly, fun, and polite.
Our New Favorite on the Western Shore. Tucked away in tiny Galesville, Md this has to be the top place on our to go list. Gina the server was exceptional. Quality food and atmosphere. Clean and very spacious with options for indoor and outdoor dining. The Seafood Lasagna was unbelievable and the price was very reasonable.
We went there today after a long day fishing! The food was wonderful and quick service! Our waitress Madison was super amazing! The kitchen was fast and so many helpful hands! Thank you for the wonderful experience! We will be back!
Pirate’s Cove in Galesville is an absolute gem! The loaded-baked potato salad is packed with flavor—creamy, perfectly seasoned, and a must-try. The grilled seafood Caesar was equally delightful, with fresh, tender seafood that truly elevated the dish. The staff made the experience even better—warm, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. A special shout-out to junior hostess little Nina, who was our evening delight. She ended our meal with a sweet touch: a handwritten note thanking us for coming and asking for our return. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made the night even more memorable. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
The food was delicious. We ordered from the Happy Hour menu and you must try the beignets for dessert. Sitting outside beside the dock, the atmosphere was very relaxing. Jen, our server, was attentive and very personable. Be sure to sit in her area. Jason Bishop was performing. He is both talented and entertaining.
We drove 30+ mins to visit this restaurant based on a friend’s (who is a local and frequents here often) recommendation. It took our server appx 10 mins to greet us, despite walking past us multiple times without even acknowledging us. This wouldn’t have been as glaring but for the table next to us, who came in after us, were greeted and served immediately even before the entire party was seated.
Our server never introduced herself and seemed uncertain (and/or uncomfortable) the entire time she was serving us, though she was very friendly with the remaining tables she was serving. We had to let her know each time we were ready to order the next course instead of her checking on us. Our daughter ordered her meal and we didn’t realize until it was brought out (when another server who brought out the food seemed confused when he saw my daughter had an adult meal) that she put it in as a regular meal. The server didn’t clarify that it wasn’t a kids meal and assumed that our young daughter (9 yo) wanted an adult meal despite her having a kids menu she was coloring.
The entire experience was off putting and disappointing. Though this was a highly recommended location, and most of the food ordered was good with the exception of the fish and chips being a bit soggy, we will not be returning based on the lack luster service. The 3 stars are solely based on the food and the location being on the water.
5 stars!!!! I love their Mac and cheese! The service is INCREDIBLE!!! I think that this is a great place to eat! The riverside dining is GORGEOUS! I love to go there with my family and watch the sunset in the summer and just have a good time. I LOVE how they give you those eye mask thingys or whatever they are called!!! I have so many! 5 stars 100% would recommend!
This was my second time here and the food was good again. I got the fish and chips and it was cooked just right. The real difference was the waiter Tommy. The service was good the first time but Tommy went above and beyond to accommodate everyone's individual requests and had lots of good information about the various items on the menu. Thank you for your service Tommy and Go Birds!
If you’re looking for a place where fresh seafood meets good vibes, this is it! The oysters are perfectly shucked on Thursdays ! But let’s talk about the bartender Michelle, she sure as HECK knows how to mix a cocktails and hospitality! The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is casual but cool, and there’s always a great crowd. Whether you’re here for a quick bite or settling in for an afternoon of good food and great drinks, this spot never disappoints. Highly recommend grabbing a seat at the bar and letting Michelle work her magic!
We stopped at the doc bar for lunch and it was an outstanding visit. Our server was friendly and prompt. I ordered the baked potato salad and my husband had the southwest chicken bowl. Both dishes were fresh, and flavorful. I had never had a baked potato salad and I would give it a 10 out of 10. Our server kept the drinks flowing and the water filled. If we had room, we would have had dessert. It was a great day to sit by the water with the sound of the boats at the dock, clinking as they stayed in the breeze.
One of the best restaurant experiences we have ever had. My wife and I were greeted right away and sat. The server was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and came out quickly. The fried green tomatoes were crispy and flavorful. My wife's fish and chips was fantastic. The cod was incredibly fresh. My fried chicken dish was outstanding and exactly what was described. Only regret is not coming here sooner.
A well kept secret is that the Pirates Cove restaurant has a small, 5 room motel on the grounds. Both are right on the water at their marina. Rooms are comfortable and affordable by Annapolis prices. The king size bed was quite comfortable and the access to the very good seafood restaurant and hopping bar is right next door.
