If you need a place for a nonprofit or corporate retreat in Maine, look no further! The staff at Wavus is great, the property and buildings are very well maintained.
An excellent summer camp facility in an amazing location. Highly recommend. A nice balance of classic summer camp esthetic mixed with modern expectations. Not the roughest place you could stay but far from glamping also.
My 14 year-old daughter has come to this camp for two years. She always comes in love with the experience, much more mature and grateful. It helps her be a team player and build the true skills necessary in life...confidence, resilience, grit, respect for others and admiration to nature.
We stayed here for the family veterans camp, this place is amazing! The staff and volunteers were all very knowledgeable and patient. The food is exceptional. It is rare to find a place that offers free camp without expecting anything in return but you are still treated as though we were paid guests. My 7 year old daughter was delighted the whole time, I'm sure their girls camps are incredible. There is pottery, archery, ropes climbing, rock wall, shooting, super swing, tons of board games, boating and this was all in the winter and rain. I am very particular about who I leave my daughter with for after school care but would be comfortable having here stay here. Rob and Marge who run the camp as well as Kasie, Emily and Jess, the director and counselors all love what they do and you can tell they enjoy being with the kids.
At this camp my two daughters came over what was based on a video potraying this camp as a happy outdoorsy fun camp but it was horrible my two daughters were bullied in there cabin and the counselors did not do anything about it
