Broke down next door. Couldn’t go anywhere. My radiator hose popped off, wouldn’t let me borrow a screwdriver, even after asking if I left my license. I couldn’t even get work done there either. They where “to busy” to help a stranded women. I fixed it but now I’m going 10 miles out of the way for a garage that would help me in an over heating car. They are rude. Terrible customer service.

Had to edit my review. I've taken a couple vehicles there and initially received good service. Since my first review, I've felt the need to change my opinion. All I wanted from them was state inspections for two of my vehicles. One is a truck with tires he said were too large to pass inspection, and another issue was the tinted tail light lenses. I under stand both of those concerns and corrected the tail lights. No one else seems to take issue with the tires, so I just go elsewhere for my inspection. No real biggie on those issues, but when he checked the lights, he couldn't get the high-beams to come on and was ready to fail it for that as well. The high-beams were on auto-dim and turn off automatically at slow speeds (or stopped while he was checking them). I had to show him how to turn that option off and the lever to control them works normally. I felt he was put out dealing with a newer vehicle. My second vehicle he inspected he was going to fail because he thought I had after market off-road lights on it. I explained the lights were factory LED and I hadn't made any modifications. He continued to say that if I was driving near him at night he would be pissed because the lights were too bright. He was adamant they were not stock lights, basically calling me a liar. I had to show him where the DOT label was on the lights, and he finally passed the Jeep. No lift on the Jeep, factory tires, factory lights, but it wasn't a 90's era cheverolet or ford so he was out of his element. I felt like I as called a liar, and he was trying to "school" me on my last trips so I will go elsewhere.

We are so lucky to have this shop in town! Dave does amazing work and does it so timely! He fixes things really quickly and efficiently, and his prices are also reasonable. We had a big issue with our truck and Athena was able to squeeze us in and they got us going again before our big event! Morning Moose is forever grateful! Thank you again for all you and your team do!

We will definitely be coming back here. They are up front and honest. They do great work. Trustworthy and reputable.

They are very flexible. As soon as you walk in the door you feel welcomed and also they are very good at what they do. We take our vehicles there and NEVER have to bring it back a second time for the same issue always a great experience. Highly recommended

My apologies to you for confusing your garage with A & D. I deleted the review I'd wrongly posted here. Your garage was highly recommended by my financial institution, Downeast Credit Union. However, I was told you're the most popular garage in the area and are quite busy and I needed immediate assistance for a minor problem. Wishing now I had stopped by -

I had taken my 1997 ford ranger to two other service centers $2,000 later the problem was not fixed after one visit to A&D my truck now runs like a charm. Customer service is second to non. If my tires are low they gladly go to the trouble of adding air at no cost. Be prepared to wait a little as they are booking on average two weeks out but worth the wait. I highly recommend them to all seniors who appreciate not being cheated! I now bring all three of my cars to them.

The owner and his wife provided excellent customer service from driving me home to picking me up when the repair was complete. I was shown the piece that was damaged and a spare tire was put on temporarily. When the spare started to make a noise, the owner came to my driveway to tighten the lug nuts!! What!?!? Old fashioned customer service. Would highly recommend!

A&D Service is amazing. We have used them for everything from an 8AM emergency wiper change, new tires for my Cherokee and Service on my Husband's GMC work van. Athena and Dave are extremely pleasant and fair. We will never take our vehicles anywhere else Thank You A&D for such great service!

Dropped Vehicle off on a Tuesday Night to be worked on wednesday. They worked right up until close to get it done for me even having a part dropped off 30 minutes before close. Outstanding Service and Even offering to give me a ride(locally) if it was not completed. Would highly highly recommend A & D Service!

Athena and Dave are great to deal with. So far luckily I’ve only had to do regular maintenance. Honest and hardworking glad they are in Richmond!!

This was my first experience bringing a vehicle in here for repairs, but I had heard good things from friends and family. The owners have always been very friendly in short interactions my fiancé and I have had with them in the past. When I called, they said that they were booked out 2 weeks, but that they’d make time to check on my car the next day. They were able to get it done that day, not to mention they fixed some small extra things that I was unaware of. I was also pleasantly surprised when I paid my bill that it wasn’t nearly as expensive as I’d come to expect from other places I’ve gone in the past. I’ll definitely be recommending them to anyone that needs a honest and friendly local repair shop.

We broke down on the highway with a flat tire. We are from out of town but they took us right in and fixed the problem. Got us right on our way! They were very polite and we appreciate the way they treated us like a long time customer. Highly recommend!

Here’s a story about why we take our cars to A&D Service, even though we now live 20+ miles away. We’ve been going to A&D for repairs for years. Over that time we’ve taken a Prius, a RAV4 (both hybrids), two campers, one on a VW chassis, the other on a Dodge Promaster chassis and they were able to work on all of them. When we moved away to another town, we used a local Maine company with several locations. We’ll call them “Big Tire.” This month (4/22) we took both the RAV4 and the Prius in for stickers. BigTire told us the RAV4 needed brakes on all 4 wheels and that the rear brakes were rusted and gave us an estimate of $838, For the Prius, we needed the summer tires put on and a sticker. Big tire mounted the tires but told us it needed a new muffler. Fortunately, they could not order one immediately. We then took the cars back to A&D. Dave checked the brakes on the RAV4 and the rear pads and rotors were just fine. The rust was surface only. Furthermore, he pointed out that with hybrids rear brakes take a long time to wear out – most of the braking is done through the front brakes and the regenerative charging system. The total bill for the front brakes was under $400, less than half of Big Tire’s estimate. A&D Put the Prius on the lift and found it did not need a muffler, only a gasket, While they had it on the lift one of the techs noticed a crack and a bulge on the right front tire, the one just mounted by Big Tire. They probably didn’t cause it but they should have noticed it. A&D had a new tire for us the next day. In all we saved about six hundred dollars between the needless rear brakes and muffler. And that’s why we will keep going to A & D.

Cannot say enough about this garage. Personable, friendly, knowledgeable, honest and professional. Prices are extremely reasonable and with such quality should probably be higher. Dave knows his stuff, always willing to help even after a "you tube mechanic" messes it up. Will always be honest about repair, if it should be done or not. Athena is always pleasant and helpful. Together they run a tight ship. Highly recommend.

I needed a new garage closer to home. My vehicle had a very odd issue. Nothing spectacular. Just an odd rumble. Couldn’t really tell where it was coming from or what it was. Odd! At first Dave thought it was a 4x4 issue. They were super busy but were able to get it on the lift 2 weeks later. Not a big deal. Then I got the call every car owner dreads. It was much worse and much more costly than he originally thought. I knew it could be. He had only gone for a test drive with me and gave me his first impression. Two weeks later the expensive part was in. Pick my car up on Friday. Which was great because I started a new job on Monday. Athena called and the plan had changed. Something wasn’t sitting right with Dave and the techs. Having owned a garage before. I know the uneasiness in making that call. People need their vehicles. However. Instead of just throwing in the VERY expensive item they needed more time. I understood. Rented a managers special and hoped for the best. The following Wednesday I was told to come pick up my Expedition. Not only was Dave’s mechanics gut instincts right. He also saved me a LOT of money. Close to $2,000! My vehicle has never run better and I’m so thankful to have found a garage that puts sub par work ahead of making difficult calls. It’s refreshing to see honesty. They very well could have emptied my wallet. Yet they didn’t. Great prices. Honest work. Busy yes. You may have to wait but I see that as a good thing. Out of all the local garages I’m very grateful I ended up in theirs.

I would just like to ward off anyone who is planning to take their vehicle to be repaired at A and D Auto In Richmond. About 3 months ago my ford taurus needed repairs on a water pump, so they suggested we just get an entirely new motor.We got the new motor which took two months to put in after he kept repeatedly pushing us to the back simply because I am a college student who doesn’t “require a car”. The motor they made us wait 2 months to install, after being put in we find out it has the exact same problem as the first motor. Then, he says there will be a new motor put in and it will be ready after thanksgiving break. Now, three months have gone by and my mother called once this week to make sure that the car would be done - BECAUSE ITS BEEN THREE MONTHS and keep in mind, they’ve had the motor on hand for about two weeks. Now, because of this call he is refusing to fix the car or put the motor in after 3 months later because we’ve “harassed him”. Therefore we lost 3 months, just to have our car returned to us with no working engine simply by just calling less than once every two weeks because we need an update and would like to have my vehicle. disgusting service, save yourself the time and the money. Don’t go to A and D auto. Absolutely ridiculous, I don’t know how they can still be in business.

I used to go here when it was Becky's. I was happy then. I am thrilled with the new owners now. Been in quite a bit and ive never walked out thinking I wish they did better, or more, or for cheaper.

Great people and great town garage. I've gone to this garage since the original owners owned it. When the new owns took it over I was a little weary but they have pulled it through for me a few times. Able to fit me in when I had brake issues next day and I was up and running the next day. Reasonably priced and timely service.

Amazing service. Dave, Athena and their team are friendly, competent and honest. I've used them several times and will continue to do so. I highly recommend them.

Been doing business with them since they took over the former business. I have nothing but praise for them. Willingness to talk over a repair, offers for various "fixes" and costs, rides home or work if you need one (depending on distances) and friendly, friendly, friendly. Several times they made a small repair at no cost and will back up their work regardless. They best small garage in the area.

I brought my 4-Runner to A & D for the first time this past summer. Dave quickly diagnosed the problem and determined that it was not drivable. I had never been to A & D before as I was new to the area. They were able to squeeze me in that day and I was on my way to my destination that evening! Dave and Athena were extremely accommodating and even gave me a ride home while the work was being done. When the work was done, they came and picked me back up. Super helpful! They were knowledgable, caring, and did great work! My 4-Runner was running better than it had in months! A & D Service has become my new place for repairs and general maintenance, like oil changes. They always go above and beyond to make sure that their customers are back on the road as quickly and safely as possible! Their prices are also very reasonable. I highly recommend A & D Service.

They have not only been helping us with our car issues but also have helped my daughter as well. We won't go anywhere else. They have excellent work and great customer service.

Clearly this garage has built trust with the community around Richmond. They recently helped me out of a minor jam with my daughter's Buick. In metro areas it's no longer possible to get quick mechanical repairs the same day. Keep up the good work!

We own two older vehicles and use this garage a lot. I have never been treated better. They are exactly what you would expect from a small town garage. They are courteous, friendly and honest. I always leave feeling I got my monies worth. I have recommended them to my family, friends and acquaintances.

Very nice couple with great customer service. They treated my family well even though we may never have the chance to do business with them again (we live in Calais). They both seemed very knowledgeable too.
