Clark’s Scrap Metal — where honesty gets scrapped too. I called them in September 2025 about recycling metal from a renovation. The person I spoke with said all their pricing was online — so I checked their website, saw fair copper and wire prices, and ordered a 30-yard dumpster for $350.
We loaded over 5,500 lbs of copper pipe, electrical wire, and cast iron. They picked it up on September 27. Two weeks later, no payment, no call. When I finally reached someone named Lacy, she told me that the prices on the website don’t apply to dumpsters. Everything — even copper — gets paid at $0.04/lb.
Four cents.
Nowhere on their website does it say that. When I pointed that out, she basically admitted they couldn’t make money if they paid what they advertise. So instead, they just don’t.
We lost thousands because they never disclosed this. If they’d told the truth upfront, we’d have brought the metal ourselves. Instead, they pulled a bait-and-switch after the fact.
No wonder they’re growing fast — it’s easy to expand when you’re profiting off deception.
After reading all the other reviews I personally have had no bad experiences and I've gotten money I don't know about their scales so no I don't know that they're cheating me but I have to trust them and I'm good with what I get, and they don't seem rude to me they seem very businesslike
I’m not really sure why this is only a 1 star location. I am from Virginia and where I come from the scrap yards are so dirty. This was a very clean place. Everything was explained clearly, he let us know he was busy, but he let us take our measly stuff and gave a fair price for what we had. Nice customer service.
The owner was extremely mean, and the little metal that I had he looked at me and told me he didn't care what metal I had in my car was no big deal to him. All over me being concerned about my tires riding through his yard. He's a horrible busness man with a rude attitude and I left in tears.
Monday at 9 am sign says open but some prick asks if we are lost then tells us they are closed while other people are clearly returning scrap. Guy doesn't deserve your business go elsewhere
