Got stuck in some deep mud checking out a trailhead and Chris was available first thing the next morning. Got me pulled right out. Very responsive, very professional. Solid guy to have in your corner.
I wanted my breaks looked at. The guy on the phone quoted me $150 for a brake pads. I made an appointment for the following week. I dropped it off and asked for another quote to make sure the price was the same. Now they’re telling me it’ll be $250 ($120 an hour). I think thats kinda wild just to change two rear brake pads on a fairly new car with no rust. after I called back and said I think $250 is insane they said $200. at this point I feel like they were just messing with me and they changed their labor rate from $80 an hr to $120. So I said I just wanted my car back. When I picked it up they wanted to charge me $40 to look at it (which proves that they do only charge $80 an hour for labor).
At this point i’m annoyed. Also, i’m somewhat new to the area. Some people who recommended this place said they don’t charge to look at it and some people said they charge $20. So of course, I question them about the $40 to look at the breaks very calmly. The guy immediately got defensive and was extremely rude. could’ve just been chill and talked to me like a normal person and I would’ve paid it, no problem.
Won’t be going there again for obvious reasons. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re a woman new to the area. Seems like they enjoy taking advantage of people who don’t know better? idk
T&L enterprises is right down the road and will be doing my breaks for a fair price! Would drive the extra 10 minutes and just go there :)
I discovered that I needed my leaking brake line repaired on the drive up to the valley last Sunday. I dropped off the car the following day and they had the repair done the day after. I was amazed at the service at this relatively remote location!
Called to get tires changed over. made the appointment 10 days in advance and even called back a few days later asking if they could order a bearing for my wheel as it was failing and needed to be replaced before I moved away. Was told it shouldn't be a problem and when I stressed it needed to be done because I was driving many miles, "I don't see why not" is what I was told. I had also mentioned a few other issues I was suspicious of but didn't want fixed. Was very clear I wanted the tire changeover and the bearing fixed. Show up to pick up my car, no work has been done. They claimed they couldn't reach me to ask what I wanted for work which might be true, but when I asked what was wrong they rattled off the list of things I gave them ( some of which has turned out to not be actual issues). They didn't charge me but what a waste of time.
Great business. They are honest, prices are very fair, and they do great work. They replaced my back brakes and were very thorough and did it while I waited. They took my car as soon as I showed up and started the work right away.
I highly recommend them.
You Helped me both tow and fix my vehicle when I lost a ball joint, tire etc out on some back woods roads. Very fair, super helpful, and exceeded all my hopes with quick, quality, well priced work. Thanks again!
If I could give six stars I would! Chris helped us with a complicated problem and prioritized us as we needed to check out before an upcoming blizzard. Honest, friendly and fair priced. I would have paid double!
Came out of my home in Carrabassett Valley to a flat tire. I couldn't get my compressor to work to fill the tire enough to drive over to his garage, so Chris came to me. Got the compressor going, filled the tire and then fixed it - all in a jiffy and for a very reasonable price. I'm so grateful for Mountainside Garage and the fine services they provide.
Needed a wiper blade as mine broke in the storm. These guys had it which was so appreciated as there’s not a lot close by. They also helped me with the mount bc I couldn’t get the plastic thing off. Thank you!
My fiance had a flat tire at the top of Ira Mountain. I called Mountainside Garage and they were kind enough to fit her into their schedule to look at the tire. Not only did they tow her truck to the garage, but gave her a ride to the mountain so that she could kill some time. They plugged the tire when they could have sold her on a new tire. I couldn't go out to dinner in this day and age for the beyond reasonable bill that they gave us. Kind, professional, and down home. Thanks Guys!
We drove all they way to Sugarloaf Ski Resort and the last 30 miles realized we had a bad wheel bearing. We called Mountainside first thing Monday morning. They made us a Wednesday appointment, ordered the part in and had our truck fixed and ready for pick up by mid day. They didn’t charge us outrageous rates in our time of need and they did qualify, professional work! Thanks for getting us home safe!
