What clients say about Frye Island Ferry in Raymond Township (ME)

The whole process is a lot quicker than it looks. They charge $40 to get out there, but there is no charge on the return so it's not as bad as it seems.

First time going over as just passengers (no car). Next time we are taking our bikes!

The ferry and the ferry crew make for a very pleasant traveling experience. Fees for the average person are a bit steep. Do your research before riding.

Friendly staff and the ferry runs quickly between 12 to 20 min wait time.

Seamless experience, first time arriving pretty late at night, other than half a beat of the attendant assuming I was a regular, everything went smooth as sill, timely, friendly, great experience. They may be the only game in town, but they're still making it a wonderful experience.

It is a ferry, fits about nine vehicles, five minute ride and wide open so you get to see all the things ?

First time going over to the island. Had a long line of cars waiting. Two ferries criss cross back and forth. No more than a 15 minute wait and We were on our way.

Ferry transport for vehicles. About a 15 minute ride to Fyre Island. In season cost was either $15 per person or $25 per vehicle (at least for our motorcycles).

Follow the rules and you'll be fine. Who knew your side mirrors flip in? Not me! Mirrors in, follow the person flagging you off and on. Mainer type friendly people ?

Tried to visit but no one was at the ferry booth and prices were unclear when we spoke to a member of the crew. $60 for two people (no car) to go over for lunch?’! That’s a leap!

The most unsafe ferry in Maine, be afraid, very afraid. The head of the ferry gets lost on the fog and has no experience along with most of the boat drivers, no safety training for any of the employees. They let anyone with a pulse drive the boats regardless of their experience. No emergency training and no saftey systems ie fire suppression, fire sensors and they are very abusive to the passengers. They pack so many cars on that you couldn't open your door to escape if you wanted in the event of fire on board and the crew wouldnt know what to do if it did. They crash into walls, docks, other boats and even the other ferry. The hulls are in poor condition and after 40 years of rust are very thin and could rupture at any moment. I urge you to use extreme caution if you have to ride this ferry and never ride in the fog at night, you may never make it to the other side. The people in charge have absolutely no formal marine education or training and have no idea of what it takes to run a safe ferry system but they are very good at taking your money.

What a lovely place to explore in Main state,USA. Usually, this place is not much advertised if I am not wrong. Love the nature, lake, greenery, boating, cross lake on ferry boat with sitting in car & after disembarking move around various points in your own car & enjoy aqua blue water in the lake, shoot pics, video & hang around till satisfied. Nice houses within island to rent.
