I went to Hawks to get my breaks and rotors changed and they charged me $460+ just to strip my lugs and almost cost me and my friend our lives. I called to advise them of the terrifying situation they put me in and they advised me that they’d fix the situation by simply not charging me for any further service needed as long as I provided the parts. Sounds good huh???? Negative cuz when it came time to hold their part of the deal they gave me a feeimagine driving in a city you know nothing of and all of your lugs except three coming off your tire.
The ladies at the front desk are amazing. I was appreciative of how I was treated both visits. My first visit I came in with a flashing check engine light, and explained that I’d just changed my own spark plugs because of this but it did not help. I was fully prepared to pay for a fuel pump, or even as far as a catalytic converter that day. To my surprise, the mechanics re-gapped my spark plugs I’d just changed, and said everything else was perfect per their words on the ticket they printed me. Not even an entire 3 days later, engine misfires again, and CEL flashing again. I took it back up there in which they honored their warranty on work they’ve done before(thank you), but then gave me a quote for a catalytic converter replacement. As someone who’s mechanically inclined, I know a converter usually won’t get blocked and welded together in 3 days. It takes longer than that to fuse and melt a catalyst together. Therefore I know if whoever looked at my car at the time was paying attention, they would’ve correctly diagnosed the problem instead of having tunnel vision on the fact that I’d changed my own spark plugs in which I’d used a gap tool and might’ve been a little off. I paid for a full diagnostic , and they stopped when they felt they found a problem instead of completing a full check up of my vehicle. I feel that this shop is very busy, and is sacrificing quality of work, for quantity of cars they have coming through. I watched as they fixed my vehicle both times. The first time, it never went in the air, they never did anything but check under the hood. The second time, is when they put it on the vehicle lift and saw that my converter was clogged. If they’d done a true diagnostic the first time, I would’ve been able to happily pay them for the services of fixing it at that time. But after paying bills, etc, I have to wait another week before I have it saved up to fix my catalytic converter. I love this shop, and the energy that they have, but I truly wished the mechanics would’ve paid more attention. Now I’m in a bind without a vehicle, and am wondering how I’m going to fix this when last week I easily could have just gotten it replaced and been driving my fixed vehicle by now. Good shop, just either not enough mechanics, or ones that have severe tunnel vision when coming to fix vehicles.

I've got a 95 Ford Bronco that's my boy. It's like a good friend. Well that friend had been sick, suffering from a needed repair that I just couldn't figure out. It sat out in the elements from the fall, thru the winter and now thru the early spring. It was covered with pollen, grime and was an absolute mess (visually).
Have you seen that commercial...It's junk let it go...well everytime that came on the Mrs. would look at me and give me a nod. I couldn't do it. So I reached out to Hauks Automotive to give my buddy one last chance at coming back from a possible trip to the junkyard.
I made an appt online, was told how much it would cost to get an estimate on repairs...this is important because I had a solid ceiling on how much I would pay...and was told that I could get it over on my lunch hour.
I'm going long so I'll cut this short. What I thought was an impossible repair turned out they had it solved relatively quickly (I won't give the time cause I prefer not to be embarrassed) and even better the cost was beyond painless.
Great service, the mechanics are top notch, the ladies up front are friendly and I'm repeating myself but the service is great!
I'm a customer for life. It doesn't get any better in this area and I'd bet in the state.

Amazing customer service, receptionists were so kind and very knowledgeable. Great work done on car, and fair pricing. Even when they were really busy they were able to lete know how long it'd be, estimated pricing, and tell me what it seemed like was wrong based off just a description. Gave me a 12 month warranty in case it had any more issues.
My grandson has been here 3 times for a oil leak and engine light Question.. Paid GOOD MONEY to still have same problem...Still leaking OIL!!!. Maybe they didnt notice the manifold gasket was broke... maybe they didnt notice they bent oil filter they installed... maybe their techs are not experienced like they advertise they are...Maybe Mr Hauk doesnt double check the work that they charge top dollar for... whatever the case, WE WILL NOT BE BACK... yall have ripped my grandson off for the last time!!!
I've been having trouble with my Mazda 3's brake system since I got it. I got tired of going for cheap work. Decided to go all in on the best. Quality costs good money. Don't be cheap like I was. Pay for the best to get it done. I'm glad I did.
So I wanted to start off that I have used them in the oast and nobody else since then. I brought my telluride in for an alignment yesterday and they also called later that day that I needed another part fixed in order for the alignment and I said okay. Long story short I get a call today about one of my tires having 7 holes which shocked me and do not know how. I was upset because I'm a single mother and didn't have money thoses tires was just out on the day before I brought the car and was not driven until I brought it to them. The mechanic guy got on the phone accused me of my car being in the ditch just because it was dirt on the tires over talked me when I was trying to explain to him that the tires have been sitting in my yard for 3 months I had rims on my car before i put my factory tires back on and that I had waterslide in my yard alot so being wet nd sitting on grass and dirt that's why. He tells me he does not have time for this he has work to do I asked for a manager he say he wasn't here and hung up. I was really upset and just wanted my car. The owner George called me hisself once he heard what happen explain everything to me he listen to me, he showed sympathy didn't over talk me or nothing. That's all I asked for listen to me and not being accused because he assumed something else. Mr George was very comforting and understanding also explain to me more of what can happen with tires took his time on the phone with me did not rush. He even had them take care of the lights that's was on the dash for me without charging. This is the kind of person you need owner that cares about his business and his customers. He did explain that the mechanic shouldn't be on the phone and everything. I really appreciate Mr George for calling me talking to me and handling so very well before I end up giving 1 star review. I will definitely use you again and appreciate your time Mr George. Thank you for all you do and your help with the horrible situation that was turned around to a wonderful and better feeling situation.
If you want to overpay to have your vehicle not properly repaired by wannabe mechanics? Well this is your place. They don’t repair engines just add parts like a Cake decorator. The two Grannies at the front desk will take your money and talk about you as you leave, I’ve sat in the waiting room for well over an hour an witnessed this.
We always go to Hauk's for our tires. They had to get the tires for my Hyundaifrom across town so we had a couple hours wait. Very polite and the waiting room is also nice. When finished checkout was fast.
George and Shawnee are the BEST!! I have ALWAYS had wonderful service there!! They are Very helpful and caring!! So thank you!! And those two girls at the front are always ready to go the extra mile!!
Very efficient! Would definitely recommend. Several of my coworkers have used Hauk's for their vehicles and they've always been happy with the service and results. I was able to drop off my car in the morning and within an hour my car was ready. Nice staff and clean waiting area.
The employees and staff were very personable and polite. I brought my 3 week old Tundra in for a suspension upgrade and the technician took the time to discuss my questions and George is a hands on owner as he even checked the alignment after it was finished. Strongly recommend them for your auto needs.

They usually diagnose your vehicle in a few hours and always, and I mean always, call you with a quote before ever doing any work. They tell you what the problem(s) are and go over the cost with you. You then have the option to have them do the repair or pay the diagnosis fee.

I DO NOT recommend this place unless you are knowledgeable about cars and can hold them accountable. Seriously overcharged me for spark plugs, and ground down my engine so badly that I had to take it elsewhere within a week to get it repaired from the $1000 “repair” Hauks claimed to have performed. Charged me for a plenum gasket that wasn’t replaced (the main issue they said they were fixing.) My old plenum gasket had been put back in the engine backwards. Missed several screws when finishing, left an old fuel injector just dangling in my engine, and did not secure another of the fuel injectors into the engine at all. One of the expensive spark plugs they apparently gave me has already gone out. Incredibly poor work, I wish I had known better before bringing my vehicle here. I am shocked by just how much they were able to screw me over.
Super Impressed. Went here for a second opinion on a repair job from a dealership that seemed outrageous. Long story short. Hauk's found the problem. Saved me $2400. Dealership quoted me an evaporator case and 10 hours of labor for a leak in my AC housing. Hauk's cleared my AC drain, when the dealership said they did that. No more leaks and was out the door under $100.
My new goto place for repairs and diagnostic issues on any if my vehicles.
I dropped my car off at 7 am. Picked up before 4 pm. They replaced two tires that needed replaced and told me what I needed to replace to fix another clunking noise. They did an alignment too. My car was pulling to the left. It drives wonderful now. I find the place to be entertaining and comfortable (coffee is good). The ladies at the front desk are always busy. Like any business that deals with the public, some people can be too impatient. Thank you for fixing my problem and I will be back to replace the sway bar bushings and front struts as suggested as I know it will be done correctly and realigned.
We went here to get an electrical issue looked at on our car. When we picked it up the receptionist couldn't tell me what had been done on the car except that it had been looked at. After paying 100$ we took the car and hoped for the best. 2 weeks later the same problem happened. We realize electrical issues are hard to nail down but we were disappointed by the lack of customer service. This place has been trusted by my family for years, but perhaps they are getting to big.
Update 7/25/18 -- I don't check in on my google review very often, so I'm just now seeing their response. Other than this I received no contact from them, but would have gladly brought in the vehicle to be reinspected, however my wife and I left the area a few weeks after the original work was done. Since my review was factual, honest, and civilized I'm disappointed in the updated rude response from the company my family used to esteem.
Excellent staff, excellent service - They go above what other shops do to ensure quality control. Honesty is a huge plus and in the occasional event some item has to be outsourced, it is always to those that have the same standards. I have 2 vehicles getting close to 150K miles and over 10 years old. Intentions are to keep these for a few more years thanks to the services I get from George Hauk's automotive.
Tried this place on a recommendation and after bringing in my second vehicle, I have turned on all my family and friends to Hauk's Automotive. Very professional, clean, (the waiting room, restroom, and the work), and courteous. I drive an hour from my home to go to this shop. They also have Hunter tire balancers, really the only brand if you have high performance tires and wheels.
This tire shop was awesome! I had a blow out on my trailer and I was already pressed for time so I couldn't afford to lose the time it would take to stop and change the tire myself. Thanks to Hauk's I was able to back right in and get my tire switched out and the nice young ladies up front we're really helpful and observant. The guy repairing my blow out was really fast but had a very nice way of not making me feel rushed. If your going to have the misfortune of having a blowout make things easier on yourself and let Hauk's take care of it.
Top notch repair shop. Its hard to find an auto repair place that you feel confident won't price gouge you, especially coming to a new town. I'm really glad I found this place.
Basically, my situation was my brake pedal went all the way to the floor. I was concerned about the master cylinder and brake booster, so I called about 6-7 places in Alexandria to get price quotes, knowing the approximate national average for each repair (parts and labor) from research online. Several "popular" shops (based on results from Yelp and Google) were trying to charge double or even triple national averages! And many were offended I was even asking. Surprisingly, the local Honda dealership was nowhere near the highest (but still high).
So, finally I got to Hauks. First thing, the lady I talked to was totally unbothered by me asking price questions, and even sat on the phone looking for local places she could get the parts for the best price. That was a huge positive sign to me. So, I took the car there and the experience was great. They were easy going, and recommended flushing and bleeding the brake system before doing anything expensive. That did the trick! And I was treated like someone they wanted to help, with solid customer service throughout.
These guys won my business, and I've been back since to fix a tire. I highly recommend them.
What great people to do business with. We went to them for an alignment, but when they found we needed a camber bushing, they suggested we take it to Hixson because we were under warranty. And they didn't charge us anything for the diagnosis.
Joe Hauk met me as I got out of my car. Very friendly. Asked what I needed. I needed to wait while my car was serviced, so he had his mechanics get started on it right away. I told him it was a used car I had just bought. He checked out my tires and underneath my car. Told me it all looked good. And I didn't need an alignment, just go somewhere and get my tires rotated. This may be the worst automotive service I have ever encountered in my life, from the phony friendliness in the reception area complete with yapping small dogs to the inept technicians in the garage. I had to return 3 times to get my brake problem repaired due to the quality of work preformed on my E350. The owner claims his technicians are the best and they are on salary, which means when they frequently screw up a job they fix it on the owners time. If the tech's were on a piece rate system they just might do better work as when they screw they get to fix it on their time. THIS SI A GREAT PLACE TO STAY AWAY FROM.
Wonderful staff and been a long time since was last in there but always been easy to talk to and deal with. Good shop to get work done on your vehicle.
