I originally posted this review a few days ago but Freeman called and convinced me that he is not the kind of man I describe in my review. After some thought & few new damages discovered on my vehicle I came to the conclusion that he only called to save face & the reputation of his business. His explanations were understandable but inexcusable. That being said.
Be cautious when trusting this business with your time, money and most of all your vehicle. He may try at first but he has no problem abandoning your property then leading you on like he & his team are still actively putting work into it.
I brought in my 1986 Mercury Grand Marquis to swap out an after market carburetor that was installed by the man I purchased the car from. This vehicle was a passion project and by no means was perfect but was in incredibly decent shape for its age when I brought it in. I will have before and after pictures below. I only needed Freeman to swap the carb out for a fuel injection system. Freeman told me it could take a while to find the part. That was fine by me. What took place after was an entire year of lies and excuses surrounding my vehicle.
Every update I got on my vehicle, I had to call him for. After the first 4 months he says he’s finally found a part that works. 2 months go by and now that part does not fit. At this point I have moved to a different state. Because of that I ask, “If we just upgrade the carburetor to a better one would it be quicker & easier?”. He says definitely. So we go with that option. Another 3 months go by.
I call again in April to get an update and he has found a carb that works but has not installed it yet. He tells me that he’s gonna install it this week & I let him know to just call when it’s ready.
August comes & once again I’m the one calling to get updates. He says the car will be ready in two weeks. After that time passes, I call again & the receptionist tells me that Freeman says to come get my car; free of charge & will have to be towed.
He could have let me know after a few months that he did not have the time or manpower to put into my vehicle as he claimed on the phone. Instead he let my vehicle sit & took no preventive measures to stop extra damage from occurring.
Below are before and after pictures of my vehicle. Freeman told me on the phone my car arrived in already bad shape and what took place could not be prevented, I disagree. Please look at all pictures & be cautious about letting this business work on your vehicle.
Freemans went above and beyond to try to help us. They fixed the timing chain(and quite a few other things) and helped us get a full engine replacement through the dealership. Everyone I talked to was super nice, and they took my car in the same day I called. Communication was great — they kept us updated and explained everything clearly. Made a stressful situation way easier. Definitely recommend! Will definitely be going back for anything my car needs.
I have been attempting to rectify the issue with my back tail light for 3 years, during which time it was taken to the dealership on two separate occasions. Despite being charged a fee and assured that the problem was resolved, the issue recurred within a few weeks on one occasion and merely a day later on the other.
A year later, we discovered Freeman Auto Service, where the problem was accurately diagnosed and poor workmanship from the previous company was identified. The issues were subsequently rectified.
I highly recommend their services, particularly for women or individuals with limited knowledge of automobiles, as they demonstrate professionalism and a strong work ethic, ensuring that the job is done correctly.
Kevis and his team are amazing! They went above and beyond for me! He sacrificed his Sunday afternoon to fix my car and even called the tow truck for me so they could bring it to his shop! He communicated with me the entire day and was completely transparent throughout the entire process! Highly recommend Freeman Auto Service and will definitely be doing business with them again! Just had an amazing experience with Mr. Kevis and Mr. Chris! They are seriously the best people. You all NEED to check them out and put those other places out of business! I was having issues with my car's air conditioning, and they fixed it right up—now I'm feeling nice and cool! Truly a blessing to so many. I’ll definitely be back for more!

The guys took good care of my wife's vehicle when the battery started to give out and the car decided to let her know by flashing every light possible on the dash. They changed the oil and rotated the tires and replaced the battery very quickly and got her back on the road. Thank you!
I had a bad noise coming from my car when I start it and the mechanic in my town told me to order a timing chain kit for my car on eBay and specifically sent me the one he wanted me to order. All in all that mechanic was scamming me for more than the actual problem. So I called Mr.Kevis for help in desperate need and he told me to come into the shop the next morning so I drove to Alexandria and while working on the car we realized the original timing chain kit the last mechanic made us pay for wasn’t even the right one. As stressed as I was he helped us order the correct one and get it fixed the right way. My car is sounding and driving the best it has in months and I am forever grateful for the help of this man and his business! Any other shop I went to took advantage of the fact that I was a female and he made sure to sit me down and explain everything word for word and step by step. And even broke down the pricing for me! I would suggest this shop to any and everyone! You will NOT be disappointed!
Amazing service!!!! I was having a/c issues (and that can be a very troubling thing in a Louisiana summer). Mr. Freeman and his staff were so incredibly nice to me and they did amazing work!! My a/c problem was diagnosed and repaired within 2 days, and for a little lesser price than I’d been quoted by many competitors. Overall, my experience was exceptional and I definitely will not hesitate to bring my car back to them in the event I ever run into other issues!

I am not from Alexandria but was there for a few days and my car started having trouble. I called Freeman Auto Services and spoke with the owner Kevis. He was amazing, very knowledgeable and kind. He got us fixed up and on our way! If I lived in the area and needed a mechanic this is where I would go. …also want to add he had a large comfortable waiting area, with a tv with many options, a ping pong table, a coffee bar, snacks and drinks available.
I guess if your a woman and look like you dont know anything about vehicles they try to finesse you so just watch what youre paying for..they said my condenser was busted which it wasnt and i was out of freeon which also wasnt the case and my compressor was locked up needless to say the lie detector test determined that was also a lie thanks guys .yall almost cost me 3500 bones..God bless yall and hopefully yall can get it together.i raised the stars up so it doesnt look too bad. I work hard for my money and mostly away from home,its ashamed you cant trust the locals to not screw your pregnant wife over.thanks again fellas
My Ford 150 was misfiring, dropped it off at the Ford house and it sat there for 24hr, no one looked at it, I needed my truck back the next day for work. I called around and no one could fit me in, however once I called this shop, they were able to fit me right in. They checked the code, found out what cylinder was misfiring, and gave me a quote. The price was under what I expecting, and the work was done fast. The owner took the time to have casual conversation and made me feel welcomed. The lobby is excellent, everyone I spoke to was friendly. They seem like really good people. I will use them for all my needs in the future. I highly recommend..
I won a free oil change from Freeman Auto Services through Facebook. I had a great experience. They fit me in the next business day and worked to get my car done on my lunch break. The waiting area was very clean and spacious. The staff were all very polite and friendly. I look forward to my next experience here!

We were passing through on a cross country trip when our A/C went out in our truck.. It hit 105 degrees on the day and so we had to stop in Alexandria to get it fixed before we could continue on. The owner went above and beyond to help us out when we called right before he closed up for the day. He helped us get the truck fixed and fixed FAST. We cannot thank Mr. Freeman enough! Been looking around for a while for somewhere to get my AC fixed. Called multiple places, and Freeman gave me the best price across-the-board and they worked on it in a timely manner. My AC is blowing colder now than when I first bought the car! I will not hesitate to bring my vehicles there in the future. Thank you for all your hard work!
After calling around town for diagnostic prices I found this shop to be the most reasonable and the only one that didn't say it would take a few days to get to my vehicle. After I had it towed within 2 days he told me the exact issue. I paid for my part on Friday afternoon and by Monday afternoon around the same time my car was ready. My power steering line went from unmoveable to turning with the ease of a blink. They even tolerated my silly questions due to my inexperience with repair shops. I would highly recommend them again. Also the inside of their shop is spacious and clean and the staff was very nice.

Freeman Auto Service provided very fast and efficient service from diagnosis to completion. Very honest and affordable. If you know anything about Louisiana heat, you know it’s almost unbearable with no air even pre-summer in May. My a/c was fixed in no time and I didn’t feel hassled at all and again very affordable. Great experience and I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. My Malibu is smiling and cold.
Im writing the review I wish I had read before I trusted this business. Here's what you need to know:
-Do NOT give Kevis or Tara money, trust, OR the keys to your vehicle!!
-They have only two mechanics, and they do not work quickly
-They change the price after they do the work.
---Kevis quoted me $1,600 for labor installing a new tranmission. On the last day, when my car was finished, Kevis changed the price to over $2,300.
-Kevis doesnt understand transmissions.
---When they did answer the phone, he would whine about how hard the job was and how he never seen a transmission like mine. It was a 2021 Buick! LOL
-Kevis will not have your car ready when he says he will.
---He told me it would be done in two weeks. It took him a month and a half.
-After he changes the price, Kevis will refuse to give you your car until you pay.
---He doesn't care how much money his mistakes and delays cost you; he literally bills you for his fails.
-Kevis really doesn't understand transmissions, but he'll take your money anyway.
---He took my car to a dealership when he couldn't fix it. He didn't ask me or tell me. He then left it there over the weekend. Broken. I had to call and yell for them to go get i.
Great service! I brought my car in this morning and all my brake pads and rotors were changed out before I got off work! Kevis is friendly and professional. I will definitely use him for all my car’s maintenance!

I'm writing to recommend Freeman Auto Service to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy auto repair shop. I took my 2017 Chevy Traverse to Freeman after having it towed to three other shops, all of which were unable to diagnose the problem. The check engine light was on and the car was losing power, but no one could figure out what was wrong.
