This is a business that somehow makes money to spite itself.
The entire facility is a mess, a monument to chaos and disorder. Not a single sign to mark where anything goes, no real flow of trafffic so an 18 wheeler will be staring you down and honking randomly. If you ask the employees in the scale office where to go, they just say go by the green crane, while all of their 4-5 cranes are green. Lack of maintenance has left their yard with sinkholes and puddles so deep you may loose a wheel in one.
You better know your metals and what they are worth if you go here as they will toss your better metals in with cheaper ones to not pay you as much.
The yard employees do not give a single care about you or your equipment. Happily using their crane to bend the side rails of your trailer and deny liability. Better than that, today one waved me back untill I hit a giant peice of scrap iron with my trailer. Then laughed about it and refused to speak to me in english.
If you like participating in a madhouse, this the place for you.

Love this place! The ladies there are always really nice to my kids. They really make the place. I own a dump trailer, rental business, and I have things to bring there sometimes. My little ones tagalong with me and they are always so excited to see them.
This place is sad I called them and asked if they take cars they said yes I asked what I needed to do to bring it they said bring an ID and drill a hole in the tank I was excited cause I usually take the take out so I said awesome went up there and they said it smells like gas to leave I'll never go there again
I read reviews, before I went. Saw a bunch saying "Friendly and professional". Saw a bunch that said "Rude". Gave it a shot. Sure enough, rude as hell. I left with my load.
Great place to bring your scrap metal or cars or whatever they basically do all of the work for you you just pull up on the scale get weighed and then pull to the back and a big magnet gets it all off of your trailer for you don't even have to get out I highly recommend this scrap yard.
I just found the check I misplaced and it says void after 30 days. I asked them to issue me another check, because the check was never cashed and was voided. So I was never paid for the scrap. They will not issue another check and said I'm just screwed.
Why would you give checks on a bank that is not local? Most folks can’t afford to PAY to cash their check as MOST are selling cans, why, because they’re broke. Bad business. I’ll go to port Allen next time.
