Located in the middle of nowhere highly worth the drive past some grazing pasture, very friendly and willing to work with you on getting your car back into working order. We'd driven 4 hours from Ohio to Kentucky and had some issues with oil pressure, they got it done in less than 20 minutes. 100% would recommend Utterbuck's if you're having car troubles.
We had driven in from out of town and had a brake issue that was not easy to solve and he did everything he could so we could make it to a hotel for the night. Highly recommend!!
After I sent my car careening off North Fork rd, I found Utterback was the closest auto shop to me; luckily he turned out to be the best too. Utterback and his connections got my car fished out of the ditch and road worthy in a matter of days, and for a more than fair price. Go Utterback!!
Jacob saved the day when we discovered a punctured tire on our drive back from Red River Gorge one rainy evening. He found the leak and plugged it free of charge, and we were back on the road within 30 minutes. Excellent service!
Was doing a chair ride for the Daniel Boone back to my way. Had an issue with my four-wheel-drive. Pulled in and was back on the road with a working four-wheel-drive and under an hour. Highly recommend I’m scheduling extra days for now on to have him do my service work.
Jacob treated us like family! We were on vacation and panicked, and he got us right in. He carefully and thoroughly diagnosed our problem as a broken belt on our tire. At no charge, he rotated it to the back so we would have a smoother drive to a tire shop that he trusted. Thanks to Jacob, we were back in vacation mode before noon.

We showed up from out of town on a roadtrip with a problem with our break and a long drive ahead of us just before 6 pm. After a phone call or two he’d found the parts we needed, got them and came back and had us back on the road by 7:15. He was very diligent when fixing the issue, very kind, gave us dinner and hiking recommendations, and had adorable dogs.
I had an awesome experience with Jacob, a reliable and professional mobile mechanic. My boyfriend called him out on a Friday, and Jacob made time the very next day to come to my place and replace my wheel bearings so I could get back on the road quickly. I really appreciated how responsive and efficient he was.
About two weeks later, I had some concerns with how my car was driving. I reached out, and Jacob didn’t hesitate to come back, take a thorough look, explain everything clearly, and even test drove my car to make sure the issue was fully resolved and that it was safe to drive. Wow, Southern Hospitality!! Car was making a horrible noise when we drove in from Pittsburgh and so we Googled a local mechanic and went. Jacob took care of it same-day despite having goba of cars on his lot. He was honest (just fixed the brakes and rotors and said the CB joint could wait), and when we went to pick it up he spent probably half an hour at 6:30p telling us all the best spots to visit and gave us cold sofas on a hot day. A touch more expensive than my local mechanic would have charged ($250 for brakes and rotors), but for the speed, honesty, quality, and hospitality it WAS TOTALLY worth it! He really could have taken us and instead took care of us super well. Thanks again, Jacob!
Huge life saver. My truck broke down and no tow truck would come help because of being in the mountains. He was able to come out and fix my truck with no problems and was very fast!!
Our truck broke down over the weekend at a cabin in the area. We were lucky enough to find this company, and they were able to get us up and running again fast. The guys were super nice, and I would 100% recommend them and call them again if needed.
The owner was very helpful. We called him and he was able to come and check our tire ASAP. Very honest and efficient, he was not able to fix the puncture but was able to locate it. We offered to pay, but he declined because a side puncture cannot be patched. Definitely call him for car troubles!
My husband and I went to Red River Gorge for our anniversary and the day of our arrival, our truck started making a horrible noise. It sounded like the wheel was about to come off. We googled mechanic's nearby and Utterback's Automotive was the closest repair shop, at 9 miles from our chalet, which we didn't even stop at. We drove to the repair shop without calling. We pulled up in the driveway, and he met us in the driveway. My husband told him what was going on. He said he would take a look. It was about 97 degrees out and he was laying on the ground looking for the problem. He located it; it was the passenger's side wheel bearing. He got on the phone with the parts store and said he would have the part brought to his shop that evening, and he could do it then or the next morning. We opted for next morning. It had been a long drive and we just wanted to get settled in. We were at his shop the next morning at 7:30am and by 8:20am we were on our way to the gorge. Thanks to Jacob, we had a terrific anniversary and got to do some hiking and sight seeing. He didn't have to work us in like he did, and he could have charged us a lot more than he did, but he let us know up front that he had been taken advantage of while out of town before and that when he started his business, he knew that was something he would never do. He only charged us $60.00 for labor. We gave him a hundred, because kindness and honesty is worth a little extra. Keep up the good work ethic. That's rare these days. We appreciate you.
On our way to pick up our daughter, our car suddenly started acting up. We were stressed, stranded, and totally unsure what to do — it turned out the alternator had failed. Thankfully, we found Jacob.
Even though it was a Saturday, he told us to come by — no hesitation. As soon as we got there, he got right to work. He was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. Within no time, he had the alternator replaced and our car running smoothly again.
We were back on the road and able to get to our daughter, all thanks to Jacob’s quick service and willingness to help on the weekend. He truly went above and beyond. Highly recommend!
If I could rate more than 5 stars I would! We live out of town and our truck broke down during a hiking trip. He started troubleshooting the moment we got there, on a Saturday at that. We weren’t able to take off until Sunday and he provided us with many accommodating solutions to avoid any further obstacles! Our situation would have been so much worse without his help. A genuine person who cares about more than just a sale and that goes a long way! Very knowledgeable too!

My car broke down and he came to my house to fix it and I’m out of town he came and fixed my car had me running again very quickly ,totally recommend him to all my friends .reasonably priced and great work
Jacob has top notch service and the knowledge for any job. Small town shop with big time service. Definitely recommend for any repairs. He will even come to you!
Sometimes the shop can be very busy so it’s best to call ahead. But they’ll shoot you straight. They won’t cut corners just to get it done cheaper or faster. Quality work is what you get!
He was GREAT & super quick! My car broke down in the middle of a no service area, finally got ahold of him & he fixed my car super quick! He most definitely saved me TONS of money. I’ll recommend Utterback’s to everyone.
