Replaced my starter on my Dodge Caravan. The next day it wouldn't start. Mr. Shell raced over to my work to diagnose the problem. I guess batteries aren't meant to last 10 years. He worked with me on getting it started and running, and had an honest conversation with my wife and I about whether it was time to trade the old girl in. I will be a customer for life, though I hope my new Nissan doesn't visit too soon.
I had a 2013 Chevy Cruze ltz,I had brought my car there because it was throwing some codes that didn't make sense. So they did a diagnostic. And said it was my turbo. So they put the turbo in. And it was still doing the same thing. So they said I had to pay for another diagnostic. So I'd and they said it was the catalytic converters. Which were 900 dollars let alone the 1000s I spent on the turbo. Then they charged me 2 thousand for labor. And the car broke down on me the same day and had to pay for a tow truck to take it back to the dealer where I got it. At the end of the day they never fixed my car and it cost me over 7000. Dollars and it was there for 2 weeks. and so I feel like I got burnt out of all that money. So let's say I won't take my car there ever again. I feel like I was taken advantage of. I should have taken them to court.
James Shell is the most knowledgeable mechanic I have ever met and I have been going to him for years. His prices may seem a little higher, but you're paying for what you get. Fixed the first time everytime.
My college age child's car broke down in the middle of Kentucky, a state we do not live in, and I had to rely on phone calls to mechanics I knew nothing about in a town I've never been to in order to get it taken care of. I was very lucky that I happened to call Shell. The owners treated us like family. They were honest and VERY helpful, and charged very reasonably for their services. They really went above and beyond in every way. I wish they were in my town, I would never take my car anywhere else.
I highly recommend Shell’s Garage. Mr & Mrs Shell are as professional as they are kind. Being very personable, they are easy to approach & conduct business with. You may believe they are a little expensive, but given their level of expertise, their service quality & the speed at which they work, I say they’ve earned that right. If there is a job they can’t do they always help find someone who can help. They have solved all my automobile problems from my classic German Porsche 944 to my Jeep, my Hyundai, my Dodge & lately my Toyota Tacoma TRD. Shell can also mod your ride too. You should see the James Bond upgrades he recently made to my new Tacoma!
