Their neglect calls for a lawsuit after bolts left off rear brake caliper which was only being held on by the brake line. This comes after they (father, son and random others hands) had the car from before Thanksgiving until April and everything they touched was in need of reassessment and/or repair. Original reason was for The transmission mount but then wouldn’t stay in first or second and now can’t get in reverse. The fuel pressure diaphragm cracked, they closed the hood onto a tool which dented this classic car so bodywork and paint to match. At one point said the car had bad gas in it (wrong). They couldn’t troubleshoot without the owner doing the networking and ultimately resolving all the problems. I write
to use CAUTION and RECONSIDER using this elder man and son who returned the car in much worse condition than when taken. Lesson learned the hard way……
I needed a wheel for a 06 Pontiac Vibe, thinking they'll find one off and old wrecked one. I was pleasantly surprised when they found me a brand new one. I'll highly recommend them when someone is looking for car parts.
I guess it was Jimmy that I ordered the steering knuckles for my 2000 Ford Ranger. Took a couple days to have them shipped to his place. Went and got them and put them on that day. Only drive 23 miles and the right side already chewed up the bearings. Don't know if they have warranty or not. Any help or information please.
Cut off parts that should have been pressed off my axle, cost me 100 dollars to replace those parts. Then they lost the special order parts i dropped off. I had to wait 2 more days to get more shipped in, plus it cost me another 50 bucks. They asked me to remove some parts they couldn't get off, I agreed, and they charged me for removal anyway. It took 5 days to do a hour job because they don't start until after lunch. Then they overcharge you for work they can't do. Complete amateurs. Blind children could've done the job better and faster.
This is the one! Quality work done right! Absolutely love taking my car here every thing I have had done was done 100% correctly and it always looks / sounds perfectly after work is done. They have saved my whole car from front to back inside and out and you wouldn’t even notice it was done! Thanks again!
I had a radiator put in. Mr. D is an honest mechanic and the job was done right. I felt his prices were equitable and the service was carried out in a conscientious manner. I'd recommend him to anyone.
This place is great. I was looking for a room for a transit... Move to be found anywhere. They ordered the rim and it will be here tomorrow...CRAZY. Good price too. These guys have been around for a long time because they obviously take care of business. Recommend these guys for sure.
If you look at the photos, you may think that D's Auto center is all about racing and tuner modifications. Yes, they are surely excellent at doing that.
But, they also work on family cars for for people on a budget, to higher end modern luxury cars.
The fact, is that Dennis and his Son Matt have been working on cars their entire lives.
Dennis worked on my first car 30 years ago and he is the most honest, mechanic that I have ever known, his youngest son: Matt has followed in his fathers footsteps and together they have never once overcharged either myself or anyone that I have recommended. These guys stand by their work, they are perfectionist's, and if anything was overlooked they will resolve it without a doubt.
Last summer, my father was in an auto accident and he's OK. But, he thought his 2013 Mercedes Sl250 was totaled.
D's not only uncut the quotes for repair that the insurance submitted. They cut no corners anf went above and beyond to ensure that the car looked and drives exactly as it was designed to do and charged a very reasonable price.
Anytime, that I need Auto work performed I go to D's auto. Their business may not be as well known as larger shops. But, you can count on quality work and integrity that will exceed your expectations
By the way, the car needed extensive paint work. Matt did one heck of a good job! You can not tell the difference from where Matt's works begins and the original factory paint work ends, and this is a Mercedes!
Couldn't ask for a better experience. Even though they were super busy at the time (understandably) they made sure to set enough time aside for my specific needs. The part I needed was in great shape and the price they asked was more than fair. For this particular errand I would recommend giving Day's Auto Parts a call before anyone else in the Bluegrass area.
This place is a treasure, garages like this just don't exist anymore. If you're looking for the personal touch, this is the place! I came to Matt and D with a lot of work: New clutch, flywheel, master and slave clutch cylinders, clutch fluid line, starter, front ball joints, short shifter and a fender I needed replaced. I bought all the parts separately and just paid them labor. I won't say how much, but if I went anywhere else I'm sure it would've been double what I paid; with a much worse result. I've been to other garages where you overpay, and the mechanics still don't do the work (like paying for tire rotation, mark your tires, get the car back and find out they didn't rotate them).
I had paid another independent garage in town that shall remain nameless to replace my starter, which they did. But then it failed and when Matt pulled it off, he showed me where the mechanics who replaced it had not connected an important wire properly, thus it shorted the starter resulting in having to change it again, within 3 months of usage. You could clearly see where it shorted on the connection.
Matt and D will not only get the work done, but do it in a customized way to your specific liking. They consulted me throughout the process to identify what I wanted out of the car, and then they did that. For instance: my clutch pedal has never been this smooth, it is smoother than a motorcycle clutch lever. All thanks to Matt, who is a absolute wizard with tuning. He knew how I wanted it and made it that.
If you're looking to get some work done on your car, take it by the shop! They are super nice and always ready to talk about your ride. It is actually better to plan with them and make an appointment for bigger jobs, but they will explain that. I couldn't tell you another shop in town to work on your ride. I don't trust anyone else from now on. Thanks Matt and D! The ride is better than new now!
