I have been doing buisness here for 25 years now and they are the rudest people i have ever had to deal with, and make sure you check your parts before you leave they sold one of my customers the wrong transmission!
The phone was ringing off the hook so they seem very busy. My wait was not long and they got my van unloaded and wrote me a check. I just had to give them the key and the title that they made a copy of and gave back to me. Really appreciate their business.

I have always had excellent customer service at Hawkins. If they don't have what I need, they do their best to help me find it elsewhere and are always very friendly and polite! Thank you!! 🙂
I own a body shop and car lot and have dealt with Hawkins for years. Always have had great service and a great selection of parts. It's rare I call or stop in and they not have what I need.
Customer service is atrocious. Called for a ECU. Talked to Preston, he asked me to find the production date on my car. Fair enough. I find it. I call back, talk to another guy and he tried to transfer me to Preston. I was on hold for a while, so I hung up to just call back and talk to anyone, because anyone with access to the inventory could have finished assisting me. The person picks up the phone, and I thought it was the 2nd guy, and I was near the end of my lunch break, I said “Hey, I don’t need to specifically talk to Preston if he’s not available. We didn’t get too far into it, I just need anyone who can help me find this.” Person on the other Line says “Well, this is Preston, and if you don’t want to talk to me that’s fine” and puts me on hold. Preston, if you’re reading this, I didn’t say I didn’t want to talk to you. I had said I didn’t need to wait to talk to you if you were busy, because I was just asking about inventory.
Called about a part and Preston told me he had it so I paid for it. He calls me back next day and said it’s not available which didn’t make sense. He said it was “missing”. I then noticed he doubled the price of it on car-part. Straight up lied to me. Not cool to do this to other people in the industry. I would not trust guys like this!!!!!
I called trying to purchase a tailgate from these guys and I was fine with their price and I was willing to pay the shipping and willing to assume the liabilities should it be damaged in shipping as that was what they were worried about, but they are unwilling to ship things. I guess they don't need money. I don't understand why they would be on a national website since they said that they can only sell local . I don't appreciate the attitude on the phone either very bad business practice I would recommend buying parts somewhere else.
Very unorganized. Hard to locate anything. Not sectioned by make or even style. Numbering system extremely random and they aren't completely sure what they have. Many of the vehicles should be crushed as there aren't any usable parts. Guy who can pull wont be here for several days.
Sat on hold for 20 min then instead of taking the call they hung up the phone. Called back a few times and could hear them speaking amongst themselves instead of answering the call. Very poor service and would not recommend to anyone.
I was a wreck. Searched everywhere for the part i needed. Preston was very helpful and understanding. They gave me a guarantee (not many places do that) and the rest of the employees were very accommodating. I'll look here first from now on. (Even if this isn't the right part!)
Place sux, staff is rude. Got called al liar over for the second time in a row over some parts that they refused to sell me. This place is a waste time and money and I would not recommend it or even give it or its parts, staff, or anything else it may have a rating!!!
I purchased a used BMW wheel from Hawkins of Mayfield over the phone. I specifically asked that the wheel be inspected before shipping it and to make sure the wheel wasn't bent. The gentlemen assured me it wasn't bent, was in B+ condition, only had a scratch on the outside edge and sent me a picture. I took his word for it as he seemed like an honest guy and I appreciated him sending me a picture of the wheel.
When it arrived at the tire shop I had it shipped to, sure enough, it had a bend on the inner lip. The price reflected a wheel that was in perfect condition, however the actual wheel was not. Wheels with bends aren't B+ condition. Waste of time and money.
I have a ford van needing a steering column. On ford vans, good steering columns are very hard to find. I found these guys on an app I have on my phone called " Get Used Parts". You can download it from Google play store. With the app, you type in your year, make, model car, truck, or van. Then it will show you a parts category, click the part you are looking for, and WHOLA!!!, It will show you all the junk yard around the country who has that part!!! It will show you the price, how many they have on inventory, the grade quality, the miliage, stock number, it will even show you what year vehicle that part came out of and if it's compatible with your vehicle, and sometimes will show some photos. I talked with Glenn. Very Humble and honest gentleman. He has the quality like that of a grandfather. They had the part, they even shipped it out here to California. Perfect fit! I will continue to do business with these GUYS! Down load that app today!!
