Not good, driver dumps trash bin on its side almost every time, misses pick up’s all the time

Pick up service was hit and miss for 2 months. Credit for missed weeks was not the same as a bill! 4 service providers run on my road, and ALL are much cheaper! Tried to talk to someone with 4 call attempts this on Dec 8th. Was on hold for over 60 minutes! What a waste of my time! NEVER talked to anyone for discontinuing service, so I wrote a strong letter to Houston headquarters. Very poor customer service! Goodbye!

I want to thank the woman that called from Irvine, Ky. She explained what was going on at the time. I have been with you all for 14 and 1/2 years. I will stay.

Worse trash company can't ever talk to someone without waiting on the phone for 30min to hr and even then it's a mess. Alot of the truckers don't care about the Kirby there rough om it. Plus if trash spills they drive off and leave it.

My trash has been picked up one time in a month. I put it out night before but they keep saying it is not at roadside. Communication is very poor.

WM is spotty on the days they pick up, their customer service is useless (the number is an automated voice telling you to visit their site which has never sent me anything back), and they charged me for service before promptly canceling my service immediately thereafter for no reason.

I've put up with missed pickups, long times for cans to be delivered etc. I'm firing you all after 19 years! Every holiday I'm put off a week from getting picked up( it seems like).

They don't pick up trash on designated days- sometimes for weeks a time. There's no easy way to cancel service online either. If you're new to the area: don't bother with these guys and go with another service provider.

Can never get in touch with a live person. Phone system is useless. App is useless for communication purposes. Price keeps increasing. My services have been delayed 2 straight weeks without any explanation. Miraculously made contact with a human and they didn't even know why our services are being delayed. If I didn't hate change so much, I would look elsewhere. Just get my trash bro Update.. last week trash was delayed again but only for a day bit trash was finally picked up after 2 weeks. .. now on Oct 1, 5pm, still trash on the street with no communication about the delay or a replacement date. We going 2 weeks again WM??

Worst service i have ever had!, constantly late up to a week sometimes. WM frequently disables buttons on website to report missed pickups or issues. long wait times to talk to customer service. its been a nightmare dealing with these companies

Update! (Sep2025): they told us they were addressing the problem and gave us credits for our missed days. This has continued to happen spiradically and they give us credit. Now they claim to have picked it up when they DID NOT. Worst part is we have bad meat in the freezer and put it in the trash for trash day. Because it wasnt picked up it REEKS. Truthfully we have wanted to switch companies but wanted to use up our credits first, but theyre honestly making it impossible for us to even get the services we paid for. _________________ This is the second week in a row our trash wasn't picked up (with them saying our can wasn't out. Our cameras confirm otherwise). We called last week after the trash wasn't pick up and they gave us credits, you'd think they'd take extra care to pick up this week. In total this has happened FOUR times in the last year. Last week we asked if they could leave a note for the driver that our trash was missed and to please pick up the extra bags and they told us it was not possible to leave messages for their drivers. So to me, it seems they have no issue permitting their drivers to skip streets when they feel like it. So, we are now backed up with 2 weeks of trash.....we just want to use our credits and switch to another company but it's hard to even do that. Edit to add: after this the trash was forgotten for a 3rd time. This is with calling prior to pick up to make sure we were scheduled for a pick up.

Keep missing trash pickup, rescheduling for next day, then the next day they change it to the normal pickup day of the next week. At this point I’m pretty sure they are just using it as an excuse to skip entire weeks. In addition to the terrible service lately, the cost has doubled since WM took over.

Customer service sucks can’t talk to a human only chat with someone. Never know if they will pick up on time or not until in the evening received email for rescheduling a different date. Poor service driver skips over picking up.

Five of the last six weeks our pickup was delayed one day. Notification occurred end of day so can was out an extra day in each case.

Poor service all around. Frequent (weeks in a row) of no showing for trash pick up with email notification with a promise to pick up next day…only to no show for that as well. Rate increases without notification or communication. Rates are already too high, but our choices are limited for trash removal services. Our bin gets broken at least 2-3 times annually by the pickup truck. Poor treatment of bins and set back location. Wheels broken off, Lid split/broken in half without automatic replacement service. You get home from work and have the big surprise of a shattered trash can laying in the middle of your driveway and have to park in the road and get out and pick up the pieces before you can even enter your driveway. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!! Dropped services in inclement weather without any communication to their clients or automatic credit being applied to their bill for same missed service. WM, it’s REALLY simple…WE PAY OUR (too high) BILL TO YOU, SO SHOW UP ON TIME, DO THE JOB YOU'RE PAID TO DO AND DO NOT DESTROY ANYTHING IN THE PROCESS. OH, and don’t drop the bin right in the middle of the driveway entrance.

One of their drivers was on his phone and ran my parents off the road on Red Lick and never stopped to even see what happened...because he was on his phone and had 0 idea he almost killed 2 elderly people. I called, put in a ticket and heard literally nothing back at all. I was told I would but never did. It's gonna take someone getting seriously hurt before this problem stops.

2nd week in a row with no trash picked up even though our cans have been out for 2 weeks, they state cans not out but our camera show different. When you call the office is closed but in line says open at 7am. Never able to speak with someone until after 9am. They start a dispute, mine is C14037044. Call back because no one EVER calls back I was told ‘no decision has been made’ What makes this more interesting is this happens almost every month!!! Communication with this company’s local people is horrible.. if you have other options choose those not this one 8/2/2025 update After the trash being ‘collected’ here is what was left in my trash cans. This is customer service at its finest….NOT!!!!! Just want everyone to be aware of how they do business. Here we go once again. 8/20/2025 service not picked up, there was a notice on the WM app the service was rescheduled for the following day 8/21/2025 and true to past experience not picked up 8/21 or 8/22 and they close before most working people make it home so ONCE AGAIN WE HAVE 2 TRASH CANS AT THE END ON THE DRIVE WAY AND BY THE TIME THEY DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT WE WILL HAVE MORE THERE. If you look back on this review you will see this is a on going theme at least once a month. Currently looking for another service who will appreciate $115 +/- per billing cycle.

Worst trash company. I had to call multiple times almost every week through the months I had service with them to get my trash picked up. On top of my trash not getting picked up some weeks I was told by a customer service representative I would get charged extra for trash that was never picked up the week before or I could bring it myself to the nearest dump.

I’m in Richmond. I used to use Advanced Disposal, until WM bought them. I paid for 2 cans with AD, and WM honored that for 6 months or so. Then they took my can, and charged me no less for the original can, and tacked on new charges for a new can. Then there’s the time they closed my account because they didn’t send the bill, and charged me double to reopen the account. Then there’s the inconsistency and the fact they offer no big item pick up. Honestly, if you have the option to go with any other company. Do. Don’t give yourself the headache of dealing with WM.

My husband & I truly appreciate the garbage pickup service provided by WM. These days it's rare for our garbage to not be picked up on time. Also, after emptying, our garbage can is left setting upright & not thrown down on the ground. Thank you very much for great, dependable service!

Shady business stay away. Consistently say they pick up when they don't - cameras (and trash still in can) don't lie. Insanely overpriced compared to competitors - switching today. Two hours on hold to cancel service is utterly ridiculous.

Today makes the 6th time since July my trash hasn't been picked up. When I call automated system says service was completed. Talk to a representative it's the same excuses, new driver, regular driver out sick, blah, blah, blah. Normally have to wait till the following week for pickup. I have been told the driver has been talked to, reprimanded, blah, blah, blah. Was told credit would be on following bill, nothing. After pickup was missed again today I got a $10 credit, we'll see.....let me pay my bill late, I'd be suspended. WM does not appreciate customers I don't know what else to do to ensurey trash will be picked up. A CALL would be appreciated

I have owned my home for a year now with the same garbage service. My billing was consistently 22 per month and gradually been increasing. This past month was 57 dollars. I have made multiple calls and emails and nobody has been able to help me. I’m actually on hold now and so far have spoken to 5 people and they have no answer.

Requested replacement bins online. That was easy and hassle free to schedule. The bin arrived as scheduled. However, one wheel fell off and missing. I went online again to report and left the bin visible near my driveway. It was fixed(or replaced) within a few days without needing my attention. I am happy with the service.

This company is far from reliable. I ordered a new can and waited months and it was never delivered. Most recently, they have missed 3 weeks in a row for trash pick up. Missing pickup is a regular occurrence. I’ve ran into issues with billing on their end even though payments are set up on automatic payments. I am paying for a service that is not being completed as scheduled.

I have requested a new container to replace the one they broke 3 months ago. I have yet to get the broken one replaced after contacting WM 3 different times.
