I took a complete Hyundai Tiburon gt 2.7 liter dual overhead cam engine to them it was completely tore down so that it would fit no issues and it had a steel crank also and everything all together they said weighed 180 pounds now I have done mechanic work my whole life and I have never seen a engine weight that little amount and I can promise you it was more along the lines being about 300 to 350 pounds that was a pure rip off and a waste of time but I will be weighing and comparing the weight of that vehicle and comparing them and I won’t ever be back to stuff’s to sell anything that was a joke
Skinny boy in sunglasses about 6ft tall told us to set the tin on the ground, which was the pathway for the vehicles there, they do work hard but they is lil rude
5/17/25 I showed up to stuff at 10am and they were closed due to “electrical issues” and said to come back during the week or that they ensured me they would be open on 5/24/25. Today on 5/24/25 I showed up at 10am during their OPEN hours and they are once again closed. If they are not going to be open then they need to adjust that on google. Once again I drove out of my way to give them my business and they weren’t open when they said they would be.
Took an old stove to scrap there today. I don't care that they paid peanuts for it, but they damaged my truck getting it out of there. They stuck it up on top of the very top of the truck bed, then let it fall off and crash into the step on the back of the truck, leaving a big dent in the rear fender plastic. I would not recommend taking anything there unless you drive an old clunker that you don't care if they will destroy. All the pictures I've uploaded are the damage they caused, and they have signs saying they're not responsible for any damages to your video. I would not ever deal with them again.
Fairly easy and quick transaction. Could use more signs telling you where to go as it could be confusing for people who aren’t familiar with the scrapping process but other than that it was the fastest I’ve ever got in and out of a scrap yard and not one attituded employee I seen at least.
So I spent time and effort on smelting soda cans, cleaning radiators, cleaning copper, and making 100% sure everything was clean. The guys were in a hurry to get us out so they gave us “Sheet Aluminum” prices for extra clean aluminum cans which is about ten cents less than pop cans. Our radiators were thrown in the dirty aluminum pile and our copper was all thrown in the unclean copper pile. Never Again! How they have so many stars is beyond me. My first and last time at STUFFS. I would have given them one star but it is veteran owned so that is a plus.
Scott with stuff is freaking awesome man, he gets our company handled and on the schedule quick and usually same day pickup and return! He deserves a raise! Great job Scott man! Let me start by saying how nice an welcomin a group of ppl these employees are,from not knowing where to go - i was walked threw there process fast ,friendly an left with a nice chunk of CASH an a smile. I Want 2 say thanks to 2 men who went outta there way an took my 2 tires off my s-10 for me.....i pray god blesses you for your kindness. If you goto STUFF RECYCLING you wont be disappointed.
Friendly people. But feel like I got cheated. Normally the same aluminum scrap that I bring in the town I find my self working pays any were from .35 to .45 . My first time here and last. Only paid me .12cents which is what I normally get when I bring in dirty aluminum :/ oh well :) good day.
This is an interesting place. Easy to find. They load heavy. For dry vans go around back to the scale house and pull up on the outside scale then talk to the person in the scale house. Pull off the scale, go around the building and back in the docks you passed on the way in. When done loading, go to the inside scale at the scale house and wait for the loader to let you know your paperwork is ready. They will then seal the trailer after you sign your paperwork and you leave around the building just like you did before. They have porta potties for use. Everyone I talked to was nice. Not too bad a place to load. This is the steps they had me complete so I'm assuming other dry vans will be similar. Not a bad place to load.
Typical recycling yard. Kind of chaotic, and watch your tires for small pieces of scrap metal here and there, but a good way to get rid of the junk that the trash company won't pick up. Plus you drive away with a few dollars in your pocket.
I recommend this scrap yard to anyone. They are very helpful and friendly. And also pay very good prices. This is by far the best scrap yard i have ever dealt with. I personally will make the little further down the road drive just to do my business with these people. Only and best place to go by far.
Stuffs recycling has great prices but that's not all tho the most important thing about these people is they treat you good, make you feel welcome. If there's a issue they fix it. See I'm different from others it's not always about the money to me its nice don't get me wrong but it's how you treat a person they all get 💯 to me thanks again
Great salvage/scrap yard always paying a competitive price very easy yard to enter and exit not time consuming like most scrap yards. Their word of mouth is good if they tell you something that's how it is not give you 1 quote and when you bring your materials they have a different price.
But I think its the best yard around and I been to multiple yards within a 300 mile radius.
Friendly staff and fast service. It's a great place to recycle plus this place always pays you the most for your recyclable items and they help you in anyway possible. This place has had and will continue to have my business in the years to come. This is a really good place to get rid of your old junk and pick up a few extra bucks while also helping the environment.
There are other places around to take your scrap but stuffs is by far the best...Jerry the owner is good people and the folks he hires are too...very helpful and they are careful when unloading your vehicle and its the only scrapyard around that I haven't had a flat at because they run the the big magnet over the lot every day because they care about their customers
Nicest group of people ever seen at a recycle business. Everyone worked together good too. Very respectful and honest. Was impressed and I do not live in this area but I do have family here. Honestly, most people I have come in contact with have been just good quality hard working family oriented bible believing citizens that has made this the cornerstone of your wonderful little town.
These folks are very friendly, helpful and honest. Honesty is extremely important. I have found them to be fair and accommodating. I totally respect their business hours just wish i had more time to get to them during the week days.
I took a few hundred pounds each of extruded aluminum and yellow brass there recently. Having had worked in this business before I’m well aware of the tricks people try to pull to pay you less. I had also weighed the products before hand. There was no funny business and their scales and pay rate were dead on what I had calculated before I got there. They were even nice which is apparently hard to come by in that business.
Love this place it is so much better than having to go in to Lexington to recycle. Winchester has now grown to match Lexington's prices too. The people that bought this are awesome they have constantly kept updating the facility and the scrap yard. They have made it look presentable from the road and it's convenient, close, and very easy to get in to and out of.
My husband and I have been recycling our metals with Stuff's for years. They've always been friendly and helpful plus, they pay top dollar for all of your recyclables! I highly recommend them to everyone.
Stuff, you've got your "Stuff " together! I have never been treated so kindly! The men working the Aluminum Can station were so friendly and helpful!

They waited on us to vet here from freedom because they had closed on us while we were dumping our metal and didn't give us time to get back over to weigh our copper and the front window never even dropped a hint to be aware they would be closing on us won't be going back to freedoms anymore. Stuffs is alot friendlier too.
Today was my first time taking scrap metal to a recycling company. Upon arrival at Stuff's I was initially confused about the selling process and a nice employee by the name of Bone took the time to explain where to go to sell my items. At the selling location, I was greeted by Brianna who took the time to explain how to get the best price for recycling computer parts. Will do business with Stuff's next time I have items to recycle.
I was quoted one price over the phone and when I arrived I was given a completely different price. It was obvious they were cheating me. They attempted to weigh everything together then start removing items never telling me what the weight was or what they were buying it as. They never used a magnet even though I said some was iron. When I started asking questions they got defensive fast. The scale man told me he was buying the bars of iron as sheet metal because he was “doing me a favor”. When I confronted him that sheet iron was quite a bit cheaper he didn’t say anything and when I asked again sternly he finally admitted that yes sheet metal price was much lower. Another man “Tony” (yes the five star review) interrupted and told me I could go someplace else to load it back up. Which I did by myself holding a baby!! (what “men”). When I ask to speak with the man I spoke with on the phone they told me go to the pay window. A man came out and told me I was treating his men terrible!!! I left and went to Baker’s where I got .40 cents more on the pound and not lied to or cheated. DON’T go here. If you think you got a better price it’s because you probably don’t know what you have and they are ripping people on non-ferrous because most people don’t actually know non-ferrous and apparently they thought I also didn’t know ferrous either.
Stuff Recycling is a great place to take your scrap metal. The people that work there are friendly and they go the extra mile to help you out. Their prices seem to be the highest and they don't play any games when it comes to the pricing. I would definitely recommend them.
