Seen a lot of these, this one is pretty intact. Nice picnic area and stream near by.

This is a unique historic relic that is basically in the middle of the forest. It’s a throwback to the times were they had to smelt iron locally for various reasons. There is not much historical information at this park, but you can certainly see the large structure not far from the parking lot. This is in a beautiful part of the Daniel Boone national forest. It’s near a lake and your hiking trails. Certainly worth a quick visit if you are in the area.

Really cool looking but I would love to see them redo the sign and cover in plexiglass that was once out front. There is nothing there anymore.

Very interesting piece of history- 1839 iron smelter. Also very nice trailhead that leads up the hills.
