It has been three days shy of four weeks since I have received trash service. I've had to resorte to asking the neighbors to use their trash to get rid of overflow trash. I have contacted the company on a daily basis and have been given hollow promises of trash being picked up the following day. Finally got in touch with a supervisor who personally guaranteed service on a Saturday, which never happened. Contacted another supervisor today, who stated they would personally contact their supervisor to get the issue handled. Only time will tell. Up until last year, I had zero issues, however their service has been horrible since. I strongly suggest using another company for trash service. Update: It has now been over four weeks since we have had our trash picked up. Management explained they don't have the driver's to service the area and cannot give a time frame as to when service will be provided. I was told it could be weeks. I will be canceling my service and go with a more competent company. I found WM is cheaper and drives my street weekly.

This is the worst trash service I have ever encountered. I have run businesses in four different cities but never encountered Republic until last year and in that time they have constantly missed pick ups at three different buildings, been impossible to reach, and gone over 6 weeks at times. When we called the office they said their records show it was picked up. I told them I have a building full of people that have seen it sit full for six weeks. Their solution was for us to take a picture with a newspaper to prove the date to contend any future issues (!!!) It's rare to be as consistently bad as they are.

We this company bought the Superior trash company, it went downhill from there. The prices went way up and the services went way down. We had weeks that there were no pick ups. I was told that it would be picked the next day that never happened. This was the worst disposal company that I've ever had. My whole neighbor got rid of them. When a company don't value their customers only the customers money, run very fast away from them.

We have Republic Services for Commerce service and they rarely show up we have two dumpsters they empty one and leave the other one when they do show up. every time you call Customer service or national account each representative you talk to have a different story. It’s just a really terrible company.

By far the worst waste service you can possibly use. They have been 1 or more days late more than 50% of the time, they spill trash every week and do not pick it up despite my calls, well over an hour wait on customer service calls, the list goes on. I heard a rumor that they would stop serving my address but no official notice from Republic. When I called 3 different times, I got 3 different dates of the servixe ending, still with no official notice. Finally I am told they will pick my bins up next week, then they come by the next day looking for my bins and dumped a good portion of the waste in my yard. Billing has been wrong multiple times, bins have been damaged - it's hard to say anything good about them.

Miss my trash every other week. Claim it will be delayed by 1 day and then never show up. Absolutely horrendous service. Calling in got me nowhere. Promised a missed pickup, and that didn't happen either. Instead of making it right, they tell me I have to wait until 1 day before my normal service day the next week. What good does that do? Trash is overflowing on the curb. Spend 45 minutes on the phone trying to get the issue corrected, only to get a $4 credit. Just more wasted time.

I've had the same experience as everyone else commenting. This service is horrible. We've only been with them for a couple of months and they've only picked up both trash and recycling on time ONCE! Right after we switched to them they missed our trash. We called and complained and they assured us it would not happen again. Well it happens all the time! Almost every week something is missed. Trash, recycling, lawn waste... I'm so sick of this company and wasting my time on the phone with them weekly because they can't do what they're suppose to! Right now I have both bins overflowing at the curb because they were suppose to be picking up Tuesday. I was told they'd get them today. Guess what?! They're still there. Stay away from Republic, they're horrible. I'm switching ASAP.

This has been the absolute WORST experience with this company EVER! I have NEVER seen such slacking in work ethic. I received containers a month ago and my trash hasn't been picked up once even after numerous calls to EVERYWHERE! I have called the home office in my area and another office in Indianapolis and talked to managers and supervisors. It sounds like I am exaggerating but not! There are big problems in this company so think before you get signed up with them. Then they have the audacity to send me a bill!

For the second time since having Republic Trash Services as our waste management, they have neglected to correct error when missing our bins. Most recently, they have continued to pick up neighbors trash, but neglected to dispose of ours for a consecutive two weeks. When complaint was filed with the phone number listed, they promised to reschedule service TWICE to make up for error, but never followed through. Follow up phone calls resulted in the same inaction and apathy. *Note* no explanation was filed from the route drivers as to why they intentionally skipped our home. No home owners’ error such as missed payment, no obstruction, etc. Frustrating regardless; extremely frustrating when trying to dispose of two children’s diapers. This does not only affect a single home owner’s property, but all the neighbors surrounding.

ZERO stars if I could. All negative reviews I'm seeing also reflect our exact service. Republic will not show up for weeks on end with no notice of service disruption even when alerted. On the weeks they actually collect the trash the day will consistently change so trash is sitting curbside for prolonged periods of time. Most recently (April 2024) they haven't shown up to collect for 3 weeks now. Trash has piled up and creating an issue with pests/raccoons. Over 20 minutes on hold yesterday and no resolution. Asked to cancel and have bins picked up just to finally be done with this company and they wouldn't commit to the pick up. Said someone would call back. They did not. I couldn't get through upon 3rd round of calling today. They often respond to reviews with an email. I've utilized that email with guarantee of pick up by 5pm today- Republuc did not follow through again. PLEASE do not waste your time or money with this company. KC Star has also reported the same issues with Republic over the last year including the City of Prairie Village fining them over $7k for the same issues last fall. They're not going to change and I will not be surprised if we see this company go under any day now.

Our HOA moved to Republic Services. We did receive a better rate then when we had a direct price with another service. So this was great! But our trash sits on the curb for multiple days each week because they are delayed more weeks than not. Also, if the lid on the bin isn't resting in a closed state, they will charge you extra. But we sometimes go 10 or more days between weekly pickups so then they will attempt to charge a surcharge, even though the additional trash is due to their 3-4 day delay on pickup.

Where do I start? I previously had trash service with Waste Management and Kc Disposal and never missed a pick-up and if service was delayed I was notified. I can be understanding to the fact good workers are hard to find and that trucks need maintenance, but the other two companies mentioned above have the same adversities that Republic has and yet deliver a good product. If you complain that you’ve been missed they take note of it and will most likely give you a credit which is nice, but who wants to call their trash service almost weekly and have their time taken up with all that nonsense? The service that is offered is expensive, almost double than that of Kc Disposal and the product is quite awful. Once we canceled our service with Republic their bins sat by the end of our driveway for several weeks and each time we called we’d be told,” Someone is actually on their way to take care of that today!”. We got that same runaround at least three times and then shortly after we received a bill I perceived to be a service fee required for bin recovery. When I first called initially and canceled I said I understood if a recovery fee was needed and believed based on my exchange that it would waved. I reached out and was told that a credit would be applied for the fee only to receive a notification today that my card had been charged for that amount. I’m still undecided on whether to call and try to get that refunded (a little over $50). At this point, I don’t want to have another thing to do with Republic as a company. It comes as no surprise to me that they have such an awful rating here on Google and I think it’s well deserving. I understand that there are good folks working there and as a matter of fact one of my neighbors do, but a business cannot be operated this way and something drastic needs to change. I would not recommend this service to anyone.

I have this “trash collection” company that is horrible at collecting trash. DO NOT USE THEM. Just about every week, recycle or trash is missed. They send you notice that it will be picked up in a few days, but they never show. So cans essentially sit by curb every day of the week hoping for a pickup from a trash company that can’t do their main job. Best part, I ask for credit for the missed pickups and they tell me they did collect the trash or recycle. HA! I have camera proof that you did not! The other companies in my neighborhood come every week…. Both services. As expected. Just me and few others that use this “company” called Republic. Time to switch. And before they give me an email address and tell me to reach out to them to discuss, I was on the phone 30 minutes ago and the person hung up as I was telling them my issues.

If you are considering Republic, you will regret it. It Says a lot to have 86 reviews, and everyone rates Republic as terrible. I live in a large apt. complex with large dump bins. Repulic is supposed to pick up trash 5 times per week. We are lucky if we see them 3 times but usually twice. We worry about rats and other critters with this much garbage all around. I really wish we could go back to Deffanbaugh.

We are not customers of this company however 2 months ago one of their trucks destroyed our mailbox. We reported it same day and have been calling multiple times per week to be reimbursed for the repair. I get the same story every single time, "it's being escalated", however they refuse to return my calls. Maybe this will get someone's attention to actually take care of my issue? This is easily the worst customer experience I've ever received, everyone I speak to is incredibly rude and unhelpful. I have worked in customer service for easily almost 10 years and am blown away at the lack of professionalism here.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! Let me add on to my review below!!! After having to find somewhere to take my own trash multiple times they still charged me for the pick up!!! My first bill from them was almost $400 and they picked the trash up a total of three times. The little email they tell you to email about your problem is a reply is a generic automated response or their employees just are illiterate. When I emailed it they told me my trash bin would be delivered when they needed to come dump them not order me new ones . I was then told a supervisor would contact me within 24 hours and the bill would be fixed that didn't happen either now today (3 months later) yet again trash was not picked up. Still a supervisor hasn't messaged me about the bill nor who will be paying for the fees from the city for the trash being left out on the curb for over two weeks. This place doesn't care about customers at all!! I'm a single mom I don't have 200/300 dollars to keep putting on trash deposits!!! By far the worst trash company I have ever seen !!!I haven't had them for two months and every trash pick up day they never came so I'd have to call in. It took a whole week for them to come pick up last week's trash I spoke to multiple managers and they keep telling me tomorrow never happened then they say someone manager above them wise will call within 24 hours never happened !!! Then they finally picked up the trash after trying to get me to pay extra because they didn't pick the trash up last week and there were extra bags. Needless to say the extra trash bags they threw in the middle of the road and left it there tons of trash at the end of my driveway !!! By far the worst trash company ever !!!! Still no call or other of discount they just want me to pay over 300 to do their jobs I. would have been fired at my job if I did the stuff their drivers do

I started my account with republic services about 5 months ago. It is impossible to get your trash picked up on a weekly basis. I have called them about 15 times since I started the account. Same story every time… customer representative says “I am so sorry. I will report a missed pick up and it will be picked up tomorrow or the next day”. Never happens. I take my trash out Sunday night and leave it in the driveway til Saturday morning hoping they will pick it up at some point and still nothing. We now have 6 bags of trash sitting in our garage because they simply don’t pick it up. I think it has been about 5 weeks since our last pick up. My money is being stolen at this point. If possible, stay away from them and use another company. Not a reliable company in any way, shape or form. Republic Services, I do not care about you responding to this with a message telling me to email you. Pick up my trash please! That’s what I’m paying you for. Quit stealing my money!

I've been a long-time customer for many years; however, since Oct-2022, its service has gone down the tubes. Republic perpetually claims driver shortages. It's apparent it elects to consistently service certain routes over others and leaves unlucky ones in the lurch. Since the spring, we average one waste and recycling pickup per month, and never on the scheduled pickup day. While the people manning the national call center are professional and sympathetic, they are utterly undermined by the local Kansas City team that's supposed to execute. For the last month, we have been calling Republic 1-2 times *daily* for the past month to urge them to perform on their promises. As of today, our last waste pickup was nearly one month ago. On 9/15, we were instructed to place all our waste, including overflow, on the curb and were promised it would be picked up on 9/18. It is now 9/25 and there remains a 25-foot long stretch of trash still sitting out on the curb, growing by the week. My waste carts have been a permanent fixture of the front of my house and have long killed all the grass beneath. Each time we call, Republic promises a pickup in the next 24-48 hours. The promises involve the call center person putting in a message to KC dispatch. The phone recording alleges a "3 day delay" in services, but it's been a month. There are no possible excuses. We've been promised the local relationship manager, Rontavius, and even the local operations president will call us. It's been weeks since we were told that and it's apparently only another abandoned promise. If you cherish your sanity and basic public hygiene, avoid this company at all costs.

We have had this service in Shawnee, KS for over a year. They continue to not pick up on schedule, and sometimes not at all. As of now, we that have them in my neighborhood, have not had service for 3+ weeks. They tell us over the phone we are scheduled to have pickup, but they do not show up. We now have another company scheduled starting next week. Do Not Use Republic/Superior Trash Services. they will not give you the service you pay for. Their excuse is that they don't have enough drivers. I bet not, if you pay them like you give service, I am sure they all quit because they aren't getting paid. Horrible experience, will never recommend. I wish I could give negative stars, this company doesn't even deserve one star.

We’ve had republic services now for about seven months. Within that seven months, they have missed our trash seven times, they gave us a trashcan that has a broken wheel, and whenever we call back to have them come pick up the trash that THEY missed, they are still late, and we have to keep calling back to get someone to come out. Our trash cans have been sitting on the curb for, I kid you not, 2 and a half weeks now, and they are overflowing with garbage. Very frustrating to be paying so much money every few months just to have the trash not even picked up. Especially when they don’t follow through with when they promised to pick it up the second time around. Will be switching companies asap!

After delivering my cans, Republic missed 4 recycling pick ups in 2 months. The first time I called, the service representatives were helpful and friendly and said they would schedule an extra pick up a said they would make sure our address was on the driver's route. After two missed pick ups the next month, I decided to cancel. The representative on the phone told me they would pick up the cans the beginning of the very next week. They were not picked up. When I called yet again, the person whom I spoke with told me that my service wouldn't actually cancel until the end of the month and my cans would not be picked up until after that. My spouse and I had already set up service with a different provider. So now we will be paying for two services for the next month. The only positive I can say about this company is that someone always answers the phone...it just doesn't translate to action.

Worst trash service my family has ever experienced. I would give 0 stars if it were possible. Frequently missed trash pickups. Their company website states that any delays in trash service will be posted on their website Alerts. Alerts are never updated. They ask for contact info as their website states customer service will promptly reach out to you when you have issues, but nobody has ever contacted me. They will frequently reschedule an already rescheduled service without any notification or any attempt at making the situation right. Even after speaking with a “Manager” promising that trash will be picked up after four reschedules, it was again missed with zero communication from the team. We were once given a notice of a possible fine from the city of Overland Park for leaving our trash on the curb for a week due to Republic Service’s failure. I do not recommend this company if you do not want poor customer service, poor communication, frequent missed pick ups, and maggots growing in your trash because you are left in the dark for a service you pay for. Do not use this service.

Absolutely the single worst experience I've ever, ever had working with a provider of any service or good. Unfathomably awful. Please, read all the other reviews and trust that your experience will most likely somehow be worse. Under no circumstance whatsoever should you sign up for Republic Services waste removal - you would, not exaggerating, be better off dumping your trash yourself or leaving it on your driveway for literal months at a time - it would be the same experience as if you were paying. We went three or four weeks MULTIPLE TIMES without pick-up. No warning. No explanation. I'd call. I'd politely complain. I'd be ASSURED next week all would be made right. Again, nothing. This happened over and over again for months. Just blatant lies. Zero service. We then cancelled our service after FOUR WEEKS of no pickup, and were told we had an outstanding amount due. Foolishly but eager to just rid myself of this entire ordeal, we paid it.... only for them to send us to collections months later when we have moved on from their services. Just an absolute joke of a company. They deserve zero stars, but Google won't allow that.

The service, since October 2022, has been horrible. I have had 21 missed pickups for a combination of trash and recycle since Feb 1. Right now, July 25, 2023, 5 weeks of trash is sitting in front of my house despite many calls to Republic and my account is paid up to date! This is going on all along my street. I would NEVER recommend them.

This was the worst experience I had. In the entire month of April I was not serviced. I live in Shawnee, KS and there is no reason my trash should’ve never been picked up. I called every week multiple times. Each time I spoke to a representative they informed me that they escalated my case and that my trash would be picked up the following day….it never was and this went on for about 4 weeks. What’s even crazier is that I just paid for services up until June too. Each time they would credit me for the missed pickups it would be like $4 as well which is nothing. What I found odd also is how once time a representative had informed me that the driver stated my trash was picked up when it never was. Houses 2 blocks over that had services with the same company were being serviced, all except mine. Terrible experience, would not recommend. Someone is definitely not doing there job.

We have been loyal customers for 4 years, when every other person in our neighborhood dropped them we stuck it out. We will begin a search for a new company Monday. 3 weeks same trash!!!!

The company failed to pick up recycling for over a month without offering a rebate. So, I canceled service at the end of October. 8 weeks later, they still have failed to pick up my carts. When I canceled, I was told I would get a check for $120, but it dropped to $33. The company told me I would be charged $90 to pick up the carts. No one ever told me that although I talked to local and national agents more than 8 times in this process. The company has well over $4 million in profits, and it sounds like it should increase the drivers' wages in order to fill its staffing needs. It's just another large company that answers to no one, not consumers or employees.

Where to begin, we signed up for service in February 2022, over the last 9 months the trash and recycling routinely do not get picked up, one may get left or the other. In the last three weeks, the recycling has not been picked up at all. You call into customer service and get told, it will get picked up tomorrow. Tomorrow comes and it does not get picked up. Call again that day and get told tomorrow, still does not get picked up. We have called so many times and get told the same thing and it never gets picked up. We have already alerted customer service that we will be cancelling our service since your not doing your job and you get a well why would you leave comment. Simply put it, you get paid to do one job- pick trash and recycling up once a week and you have failed at it consistently for 9 months and on top of it have not picked recycling up in 3 weeks. I had to leave one star because google does not let you leave 0 stars otherwise I would have. Update 11/18: It has been 42 days since our recycling has been picked up. We have fully canceled all services with Republic and are now awaiting for them to pick up their overflowing trash and recycling cans. We call into customer service to see what is going on and we get the typical answers. At some point we may start charging them rental space on our property for their cans. TBD if they pick their cans up and when. Stay Tuned! Update 12/6: We have fully canceled our service with Republic. However still after 3 weeks of canceled services they have not come to collect their cans. Called in and have created ridiculous stories about the cans and customer service does not care, same old story. Wish they would come get their property before something happens to the cans in winter. Kinda funny when I posted my original review Republic still had almost 4 stars from the google reviewers, definitely do not have 4 stars anymore. Wonder why...

These guys have been the WORST. Like others leaving negative reviews we have gone weeks and weeks with out our trash being picked up. Every call met with a promise "to escalate our complaint to operations", which changes nothing. Trash and recycling are still out on the curb. To those at Republic Service reading this NEGATIVE REVIEW, do NOT send me a canned response, tell me WHO I need to talked to, threaten. cajole, bribe, whatever is need to GET MY TRASH & RECYCLABLES PICKED UP!!! (Update: Looking for a new company that is NOT Republic Services for service.)

This was the WORST experience I have ever had with a trash company. We went 7 weeks in the middle of the summer without pickup. I live in the MIDDLE of Overland Park….I spent hours every week calling and being promised next day pickup. FINALLY spoke with a lady that could sympathize and she graciously cancelled my service and granted me a credit. They were supposed to send me a check for my money back….of course weeks later I had to call and request that. Then I was promised 3 different dates they would retrieve their bins. My service was cancelled 7/27. My bins were finally retrieved 9/27 after I had to threaten to dump them in a public place. Why do you have to push people there? I was kind with EVERYONE up until then. They were consistent in their information and processes EVERY TIME! You have good people doing what you train them to do, but you FAIL them as a company. Shame on you. I hope they leave and go work for someone who appreciates them and has processes that work. FINALLY, when my bins were picked up I thought we had parted ways at last….NOPE you sent me a bill on my closed account on 10/13. I called, waited, and was told by Frederick I owed and that was that. He doesn’t belong in Customer Service. I OWE you NOTHING for doing NOTHING. He didn’t care, listen, or research my account. I had to ask for a supervisor and beg him to clear my balance and leave my family alone. Harassing customers after you FAILED them….That’s embarrassing….the leaders of this company have failed their customers and their employees.
