Called Elmquist for a jump while away from home, they were able to get someone out within reasonable time on a Sunday and were very responsive. TJ came out and noticed the alternators electrical connector was missing, as i had just got my car back from a mechanic that must of forgotten to reconnect it. This saved me a whole lot of time and money in the long run. Thanks for having an eye for detail, because its the small things that make everything work.
The only reason they only get 3 stars is because they keep taking my car but overall the people are very nice there and I know it's not their fault. Good people
Elmquist Towing is wonderful to work with! They stepped up when we broke down and AAA was having issues finding someone to tow us from Ellsworth, IA to east central Minnesota north of the Twin Cities. Shawn in the office, Gabe the driver/technician and the owner all went above and beyond to help us out!
Ames IA is really difficult to find for semi trucks or trailers to repair. Yesterday called many but just Elmquist came out and assist us.

They took about 2 weeks longer than first estimated (a couple of days), charged me almost 3 times the estimate, and broke my emergency brake. Need more repairs than when I started with them.

Towed my car even though it was legally parked and once I saw them starting to hook it up to the tow truck I came out to show them that I was allowed to park there. They didn't care and said the only way I could get my car back was to pay them $250 in cash on the spot and it I didn't have it it would be $300 after it was towed. This is a predatory business.
Gabe was an incredibly professional driver. Before coming to my car, he ensured he had the right equipment so that there was no damage. My car sits low. It was perfect! He even got it into the garage, like a champ
Not 24 hour towing! I got a flat tire in Ames at about 10pm on a Tuesday night. I asked for a tow to get my truck and myself home. Whomever answered the phone was rude and literally asked me' "What do you want me to do about it?" and told me it was after hours for a tow. I needed to get home and couldn't leave my truck where it was so I called a competitor. They were great.
I would highly recommend Elmquist Towing. They were there within 15 minutes of me calling. I talked to Shawn on the phone and he was super nice and very quick and easy to talk to. TJ picked up my truck and again was super nice and pleasant to talk to. He very impressively towed my truck out of a tiny parking spot without hitting any other cars!!
TJ (the driver) arrived quickly and was very personable and seemed knowledgeable. He took extra measures to check my battery before towing my vehicle! I was very pleased with the service!
After multiple attempts at getting my daughters car towed (over a 2 day period) using my AAA membership, with no success, an “above and beyond “ AAA employee (Christina) called Elmquist and their tow truck Technician (Darrin) arrived in 30 minutes. He was very professional, personable and took great care with my daughter’s car. Much appreciated! I will definitely use your company again.
update, a week later and 5 attempts for a receipt, have had to open a dispute with Capital One. customer service here seems to be lacking which sucks cuz the tow operator was very good to me.
elmquist saved me! had to be towed from Slater to huxley. $250 but it was 9pm in the bitter cold. driver TJ was very helpful, professional, friendly, and caring.

They scheduled a tow truck for us first thing this morning and sent an efficient and kind attendant to aid us. Within minutes he had our car humming along, not needing to be towed after all. We have been searching high and low for a repair facility. After trying several in the area, we found our way to Scott. He was amazing! We thought we knew what the issue was after being told by two different mechanics. To only find out it wasn't. Because of Scott's knowledge and thorough diagnosis. He fixed our vehicle right the first time! Thank you for fixing our vehicle, and we will be back!
We had just started our treck from MN to TX when our car hauler trailer tire lost the majority of its tread. UHAUL coordinated for Elmquist to come help. They arrived well before the estimated time. Tj was very kind and helped us unhook our vehicle when removing from the trailer and hooked it back up when finished. He was very quick about changing out the tire and helped ensure all tires had the right air pressure. Highly recommend them if you are in this area.
I got my vehicle back from the mechanic & was driving approx 100 miles from home. My check engine lights came on & I immediately pulled over at the Elkhart rest area & called my mechanic. He suggested not driving it & having it towed home. My insurance company checked for the best deal to have my truck towed & came up with Elmquist’s. Tayilom came to rescue me & my little dog. He was super friendly & very knowledgeable about his job! He deserves to be paid well as he does a great job!! He was even willing to sit there, until my ride came to get me, so I would not be alone at the rest area! Thank you very much!! :)

Went to retrieve my car that was taken from a spot with no signs saying it would be towed. Went in and the lady at the front desk was instantly rude as a lot of other reviews state. She then told me to "shut up" as I was asking a question. She then pushed me out of the building, as I opened the door go ask her name another guy who also wouldn't say his name grabbed me and pushed me almost to the ground. The manager finally came out after I had called the cops for assaulting Me and he defended his employees actions.
Not the drive home I expected yesterday but Elmquist was on it and had me back on my way in literally minutes! My tow truck driver was soooo kind and personable! Literally 10 stars instead of 5!!!!
I have to assume that they are very busy. I had to have a car towed a few months back and they weren't able to get to it for awhile. Ended up using a different company. They are in very high demand because they're so good at what they do. But today I needed another tow that I wasn't able to be present for and they got right on it. It wasn't afternoon yet so perhaps they hadn't had much business yet. Don't even get me started on Lisa, that sweet lady is a ray of sunshine. Chris, who towed my car today, had great communication and kept me updated the whole way through. I think it was another man who took down my information for the first call but he was friendly as well.

I park in a private garage in a reserved spot and called a tow to regain access to my reserved spot. I called these guys and they were very vague over the phone. I waited an hour and called back to ask for an update; they said I was next on their list. I waited another hour, no word from them at all. I called them several times only to be sent to voicemail and completely ignored. This is not a company I will ever choose to deal with again and I don’t recommend doing so to anyone. Horrible service from every angle.
I had such a great experience with this company. From the moment I called to my car arriving, everything was perfect. Dispatch was friendly and was able to answer all my questions. The tow truck driver called me to make sure he delivered it to the right spot. Highly recommend
I came here to recover a trailer for my company parked late last night only to wake up to the owner Cussing at me telling me to move, It was late I never been her before and there is snow everywhere he didn’t have to speak to me that way he over charged my company to begin with almost 7k and now he wants the same for the truck 7k that’s 14k that is ridiculous you think someone spend that much money with your business you would treat them a little bit better than he did me
Terribly upset with the values of this company. Was charged $200 just because they were called out to tow a car which we moved ourselves once we heard the back up lights. The car was never touched by the truck and was not hooked up whatsoever. They would ONLY take cash payment, so we had to go to an atm and the driver in quote said he would not leave until he had the money. I have had previous experiences like this, and have never experienced such terrible customer service. Would not recommend this company to anyone based off of their obscene policies.
