Recycled a 40’ shipping container. Crane plucked it right off the trailer.
Re-weighed the truck and trailer, went into the office and the office lady was very pleasant and was on my way with a $500 check. It was a positive experience.
I've always had good experiences here over the last 10 years. I'm there only about once or twice a year taking metal from the farm. The folks in the office communicate well, are efficient, and helpful in coordinating with me and the folks in the yard. The folks in the yard have always been helpful even though they may have a lot of customers dropping off stuff. Don't expect to have a lot of conversation once you're out on the yard-- those people are busy, they are running big equipment, and they have to stay aware of their surroundings. They will communicate with you when needed, and it's always been efficient and effective. Make sure you stay aware of who was there before you so you get into the right spot for your turn. Sometimes you may have a bit of a wait, and sometimes you hit it just right and get to dump your stuff right away.
They offered me $40 for 4 original Bmw catalytic converters that were intact and full of honeycomb. I said that’s not right and the guy said that’s the best you gonna get buddy. Skip
It has been a good experience for me every time I've been there...very helpful. Very respectful. I've never felt anything else other than respect...I use their service often.
I can't believe I ever used to PAY to dispose of stuff at the dump?!! Alter takes all metals and pays ME for it! You definitely get a higher price for clean and dirty brass but you still make money on steel and aluminum. There is no reason to dump your money at the Dump when you can make money at Alter. Plus: you are doing the right thing by recycling!! What's not to love here?
