They love to rip people off... I took over 200 pounds of steel and they only gave me 14 dollars and said it was just tin... Dirty steel is currently 10 cents per pound.. 260 pounds multiplied by 10 cents per pound comes to 26 dollars, not 14!
My car died and is parked at a roundabout, I contacted one of them cash for clunker deals and they were a third party who finds buyers. The buyer was CC recycling. The car is at a location that is tagged by the police department. I have x amount of time to move it. When I talked to Cece recycling I informed them I was at my vehicle with a U-Haul and car hauler. I agree to sell them the vehicle and they told me a tow would be there before the end of the day and this was around 1:00 at 4:00 I called back to say what's going on and the lady had to get back to me saying she would call the driver again. She called back told me the driver would not be making it over that day however will be right away tomorrow we apologize. She told me they need me there with title at time of pickup. I was to be in Des Moines the following morning so asked if I could bring to the junkyard since I live like 7 minutes away and she said that would be fine. The next morning I stopped in to give them the title just before I was to drop off the U-Haul and empty car hauler and was told that the people at the desk had no idea what I was talking about and since I wasn't at my vehicle with the title that morning that they weren't able to pick it up and if you want to leave it here with us we will get to it when we can next. I'm on a deadline with the police department to get it moved and was there the previous day with what I was supposed to have and they told me that they were going to make it there and they didn't but not only that they didn't fulfill the second part of what they said they'd do which was having it done the next morning and so I freaked out and told them no way am I going to give you my title now and wait for you to do who knows what when and then wait for you to decide whether or not you want to pay me or jerk me around. The company is trash and not only did I get lied to by them a couple times at the end of the day they just deflected and then told me to go fly a kite. Great company!
Super easy, pull up on the scale, get a hard hat and unload. There's a $10 each. Appliance fee. But still easy money. Staff was super friendly and helpful to me never going there before. This trailer load got me $24 after the appliance charge.
CC Recyclers are great people to work with!! Very good scrap prices and real easy to drop off material here and weight in & weight out!! I have been here multiple times with in the last year and it is always real fast in and out and the pay-put process is pretty simple and fast too!! Emily is great to work with also and so is Todd & James in the yard!
Emily was awesome helping me through the process of getting rid of my old chariott that no longer was running and needed cleared off my property. I couldn't locate the title and rather than paying $25. To get a new one, she was able to locate the record she needed with a signature, photo id and the vin. They even came to pick it up the next morning. Simplified and resolved the entire situation for me. Thank you for all your help!

They were kind, understanding and their communication was top tier. They also paid more for our car than other recyclers. I hope I never have to scrap another car, but if I do, I know where I'll go.
I would rate a 0 if posssible! Bought a used tires from them which popped the first day. Took it back with my recipe. After going to get another tire and asking for another recipe they told me the tire I brought back was no theirs because the outside marker was not on its days it wasn’t marked on the inside. It was clearly marked on the inside with the same stuff they mark their tires with but since it was kinda of wore off the swore up and down that the tires was not theirs!!! I will never shop with them again a waist of my money!!!!
Would rate a zero if possible. Scrap pricing is unreasonable and they are out to rip you off. Better off going to Alter recycling. Definitely avoid this place if at all possible. They told me one price for my scrap and then a different price after I had done all the work to drop it off. I will never do business with this place again!
Scrap copper price at this time is 3.86 a pound. They want to give you 1.85 and 1.95 for #2 and #1 copper. You should get around 30 to 70 cents under spot price. These rates are so low its borderline criminal and some sort of regulation needs to be imposed in iowa to stop scrap yards from taking advantage of people with predatory rates
I've had my tire shop open for 2 years and have a special appreciation for this business as they save me from being forced to deal with a crooked tire recycling operation that already tried overcharging me, my very first(and last) time shortly after my grand opening in 2018. It's always fast, fair service at CC Recycling, and we also send each other customers which is an added plus. The size and availability at their place allows easy access to any parts and vehicles needed as well.. I know several scrappers, automotive businesses, tow drivers, etc who also speak very highly of this yard and I hope this place is around forever myself... Thank You For Honest Business Run By Honest People!
Taking the parts off the vehicle in the yard didn't take too much time and the price for all of the pieces we needed wasn't very expensive. They were quick with getting us on our way.
Great place at first thought it was over priced but they worked with me and were very professional for a junk u pull it parts...very nice and hopefully dont need to but if life happens and it will I'll be back
Have been here twice now for the same thing. Ford f-150 rim. Both times they were cheap and easy to get. the lady on the phone is always super nice and answers any questions I have.
This is my go to junkyard for the iowa city cedar Rapids area, awesome prices and friendly staff. This place is pick your own parts so make sure you bring the tools you are going to need to get the part before you go. They also sell running driving vehicles out front. Not the biggest selection of cars in their lot though.
Not the biggest inventory but far more helpful and better priced than Sunline. People here actually take the time to work with customers, Sunline employees act like customers are always bothering them. Although the inventory is smaller, is is pretty well organized.
Awesome prices, very helpful in the office, come prepared with your own tools to pull your parts, inventory changes all the time, nice people who like to help
This is my go to for a pick your own part yard and scrap metal recycling. Sometimes the inventory sucks but you all you have to do is wait a day or two and it will change. The pay out for scrap metal here makes me come back without hesitation. All of the employees are knowledgeable about everything and can help you out or they will bring the right person to make sure they can do all they can to fulfill your needs
Went there for the first time today. The sign in process was straightforward, and it was nice being able to go into the yard and grab parts myself.
Update: 2nd time there and they are extremely accommodating. Highly recommend.
This place is not the best I had 18 lbs of aluminum dude never scaled the container they seem really greedy to be honest. They really suck at inventory as well said they had vehicle at their yard. Went over to look at it and it wasn't even their they wasted my time, I even called first to double check if that vehicle was their I'll try to avoid this place.
I go here A LOT! They keep their prices low even when others don't. I recommend this place! Ask for Marv hes your go to guy very knowledgeable! 2016 update wow the prices this year has sky rocketed they better cut cost. Mcvay is opening a junkyard Olson auto salvage is still cheap. Ace auto is still cheap. I gave them 5 stars but I'm dropping it to 3 the guy at the desk is only reason I still go once and awhile. They're getting sunline prices.
