Wow i can see why auto express is going out of business. So many bad reviews . I wouldn't by a dog from this place anyways I hear so many bad things about this car dealership from my neighbors that bought cars from here to just reading reviews . Maybe you guys wouldn't of gone out of business if you actually took care of the customers and look over the junk you buy before putting a high prise tag on it
I was driving through the lot and noticed the lack of inventory. I stopped and spoke to someone who worked at Auto Express and asked about this. Robert A. (Sales Manager) stated that Auto Express was going out of business due to the owner retiring, so new inventory wasn’t being brought into the lot. He took the time to explain what was going on, gave me tips on using the Capital One pre-approval process that is on their website, and was just overall very helpful and courteous despite the tough situation the employees of AE are dealing with. I ended up using the Capital One feature on their site, found a few vehicles I got prequalified for, and ended up purchasing a 2023 Nissan from them the same day.
Robert is a great example of outstanding customer service! I had no idea I would be buying a car that day since I was genuinely just curious why the lot was so empty, but Robert is a prime example of going above and beyond for a customer! My sales representative, Quan, was also very pleasant to work with! Despite limited sales reps remaining with the company, and Quan dealing with multiple customers at the same time, it was a quick and pain free experience closing the deal.
Don't even bother if you have a trade-in. They'll offer you pennies on the dollar for your trade-in. They offered about $1,500 under the lowest KBB trade-in value estimate.
I visited this dealership and test drove three vehicles, each of which showed significant defects, raising serious concerns regarding their quality control processes and commitment to customer safety.
The first had poor-quality bodywork, with paint overspray on the door trim and rust near the lift gate. This suggests that proper preparation was not followed which will cause issues in the future. The second had a major safety violation: a MISSING SEAT BELT in the third row, with part of it shredded and hidden under the seat. The third showed additional workmanship issues, including a run in the clear coat and a misaligned bumper from a poor quality repair. Finding these defects across multiple vehicles suggests systemic quality problems, not isolated cases.
When concerns were raised, the salesperson dismissed them, citing the dealership’s large inventory and inability to check all vehicles. He also disclosed that no inspections are performed someone is interested in purchasing the vehicles, meaning cars on the lot may not be safe or roadworthy.
I also noticed that their website fails to list its sales staff, suggesting high turnover and little accountability. It appears that both the vehicles and the customer experience here suffer from the same lack of care and accountability.
Based on these experiences, I do not believe this dealership prioritizes vehicle quality, customer safety, or service.
I strongly recommend avoiding this dealership and seeking more reputable alternatives.
We have bought 2 vehicles here. Our 1st was a Buick Enclave and the 2nd a Chrysler Pacifica. Both times we did business with Craig. He is a phenomenonal salesman. Very pleasant and very helpful. Craig is very straight forward and truthful. Will definitely be coming back!!
I was recommended to come here from friends who had bought multiple vehicles here. This dealership seems to have a pretty good reputation in the area. My wife and I had high expectations but were not happy with the lackluster service from Rob (Elam? Can't remember his last name for certain).
He was condescending at times and seemed very shifty. As a man, i have learned to trust my wife's instincts. We asked questions about an F150 we were interested in and he rarely looked us in the eyes (typical when someone is lying to you). The truck we were looking at had a weird wobble. Rib said they could put nee tires on to see if the wobble would go away....well the notes actually said that the mechanics already put new tires on AND new rotors. Plus I checked out the tires when we test drove the truck and they were brand new.
I noticed a good amount of the vehicles on the lot had been sitting there for a long time. One truck we checked out had been on the lot for 10 months! When Rob told us that under no conditions were the deals negotiable, we walked out. In sales, EVERYTHING is negotiable. Maybe this is why there's vehicles sitting for 10+ months?
We felt disrespected and lied to by Rob. We ended up driving 4 hours to Michigan to get a similar F150 that was $800 cheaper with 15,000 less miles and Ford Gold Certified with an extended warranty.
From my experience, there's some shady business practices going on at Auto Express. Maybe not by everyone, but definitely Rob.
Alex was extremely professional and up front. We had a clear and transparent experience where we understood the cost of the vehicle, the cost of fees, and the taxes required. A great car, a great price, and a great experience.
We recently bought a used pickup here. This was probably one of the least painful car buying experiences I've ever had. I didn't have any high pressure sales tactics thrown at us. Everything was straight forward. The car buying experience is already extremely stressful and it was nice to not have to deal with a long winded exhausting bombardment of upsells and bs. I'm very thankful for the experience we had at auto express. They also had quite the selection of vehicles.

Would leave a 0 or negative if I could. Just a terrible experience. Communicated with salesman Rob on Thursday 12/12, Friday 12/13, Saturday 12/14, Monday 12/16, Tuesday 12/17, Thursday 12/19 and today, 12/20. It was very clear that I was going to make the 5 hour trip to pick up the vehicle I was interested in on 12/20. Credit app was filled out and approved. Rob had family stuff and had to leave at 2 pm. We left Madison, WI at 6:00 am on 12/20, as discussed with Rob to accommodate his schedule. We reached Chicago at approx 9 am and I texted him to let him know we would be on time. Rob called to inform us that the truck had sold on Wednesday. Just makes me so mad typing this again. We had texted on Thursday and the incompetent Rob never thought to look or even get the truck ready. He is the prototypical used car salesmen. Do not do business with this dealer.
First off, 2 trucks I was interested in wasn't on the lot after making the hour and a half drive to Lafayette. After finding "the one", signing all paperwork, I found out they put my cosigner as the main borrower for the loan and have me as a co-borrower. I brought it up to Alex(the salesman) and he said it was what the bank wanted. I'm not happy at this point at all. And now here it is a month after the purchase, and no one will return my calls or emails, trying to get thus paperwork straightened out. Definitely will NEVER give this place business ever again.
Armon was the one who sold us our truck. He was awesome, laid back, not pushy at all, and kept in contact with us the whole time about the truck we were buying. We had been to many dealerships recently looking for a truck. This by far was the best experience we’ve had. They are not pushy. They do not blow up your phone. You can go look at vehicles without anyone hovering you. I can’t say enough good things.
Beware of this car dealership. The car quality was good and the sales process was fast, but this dealership puts winter tires on their inventory. Do your own research to make sure you are comfortable with winter tires, I found out too late that they are not good for everyday usage that’s not winter conditions. This dealership told me that winter tires were no different than regular tires and it was only after I had left and went to another car dealership for a service inspection that I found out the truth about the danger these tires present when not used in winter conditions. When I voiced my displeasure with the situation the only solution presented was for me to have to come back to the dealership and they would pay for half of the transfer to standard tires with the work being done at their shop, meaning more money in their pocket. The best solution would have been for them to request proof of my receipt for the tires I bought and compensate me in full for them. If you choose to use this dealership just be aware of the tires they put on the vehicles you look at.
James was the best! I had high-anxiety coming in because I hate car shopping and always get buyers remorse with big purchases and he quickly put my mind at ease. I had looked online previously and had 3 cars picked out I wanted to test drive. James made the whole experience easy... and fun! I test drove the 3 and wasn't too entirely sure. He then suggested a 4th vehicle that I then test drove. It helped me narrow my decision and I couldn't be happier with my 2018 Nissan Rogue in caspian blue. I've named her Raven and she's great! My kid and dog like her, too! Auto Express as a whole was great! Everyone I interacted with was super friendly and helpful!
I highly recommend Auto Express and they made the car buying experience online less stressful. I put a deposit down on a vehicle without seeing it in person or test driving it. I am so happy with my newer vehicle and thank you guys for taking the time to help me.

The guys that work here are truly amazing. I bought my first car here in April 2020, and it was an amazing experience. I got a fabulous deal on a Mazda that has been a staple in my household ever since.
In 2022, I bought a car from another dealership - if you're from Lafayette, you know the dealer. I got a brand new car, paid a premium price, including $2000 for an undercoating charge that I didn't want.
My car was totaled in May, and I found out on a short notice. I worked with Jeff to buy another Mazda that caught my eyes. He was truly a gem. We talked about life, loans, and more! Everyone at Auto Express goes out of their way to make sure customers are happy. That is so evident.
The ambiguity or fear of scary charges at a typical dealership is never present here. The environment is professional but relaxed. If you are considering it, Auto Express is completely worth it. I have recommended them to so many people over the years. Both my sister and her husband have bought cars and have similar experiences.
Plus my shiny new Mazda was able to get 4 new tires. I had my first experience with the service team, and they are equally as amazing as the sales. I love my new car! Thank you Auto Express. I am a lifelong customer.

As a person who has purchased several vehicles via dealership(s) over the years, I have never felt inclined to leave a review, let alone a positive one. Prior to buying from this dealership, my opinion of the buying process was that it was subpar at best. However, after my experience with this dealership, my opinion has utterly changed. My entire buying process was facilitated by the salesman I worked with, Alex Nunez. He was the only person I worked with during the complete process. Alex worked with me virtually for 90% of the process over the course of several weeks because I live 4.5 hours away from this dealership, in another state. He was always timely in his response, clear and concise on pricing and trade value, and once I finally committed to purchasing a vehicle and made the 4.5 hour drive, I arrived to find that all of the details that he had promised were true and unchanged. Alex worked quickly to arrange a test drive, process my trade, finalize my paperwork, and get me out the door in just over an hour. I cannot say enough about how impressed I was with that fact alone. I completely recommend this dealership and if you decide to work with them, ask for Alex.
We have bought two different cars from this establishment, and they not only have made it easy, but they were also friendly and accommodating. This place USED to be great up until the past couple years. My spouse and I purchased 2 vehicles in the past (back in 2016 and 2019) and our experience was great! Staff was friendly and place felt more personal.
- Last year we purchased our sons 1st car and was amazed by how much bigger the whole environment felt. An older man, Kevin, rushed us through and was nice until after the paperwork was signed. Any service follow-ups he was short and brushed us off!
- Now I'm looking at your online website and you don't even show prices anymore! Classic used car trick trying to match people to cars by payment... its a shame.

I went to auto express to buy a truck and I test drove 2 of them, it was a really relaxing environment. I test drove, picked the one out, and then went to Alonzo who made the transaction really smooth. I was already pre-approved by my bank and I didnt have to wait hours like I would at the dealership. I would highly recommend, and service with Alonzo was great, no hidden fees or anything it was very straight, he went over everything like at dealers they bump the price up on you after you waited 2 hours before you sign your life away. Here I was done within 20minutes after picking out my truck with keys in hand ready to roll :)
Absolutely the best car buying experience I have ever had. After having a new 2022 Kia Telluride on order with a Kia for 9 months (with no delivery date in site), I decided to look at the used market. Telluride's are really hard to find and Auto Express had exactly what we had on order sitting on their lot with only 3,000 miles. I drove all the way up from Northern Kentucky (3 hours one way) that day, and it was worth it! Solved my 9 month long problem in a day! Armon and the entire team made it Hassle Free. I was in and out in a little over 30 minutes. I would highly recommend Auto Express to anyone looking to buy a car!

Originally I went to Auto Express with 1 vehicle in mind. After a test drive, it didn't work for me. Casey took me to the drawing board with 2 other vehicles with the bells and whistles that I needed. I tested both out and eventually found the car for me. Car shopping the week of Christmas was hectic but I waited for it to be completely ready(inspection, detailed, new items). Casey was very helpful throughout my experience. He kept me updated with new deets and met every request that I had. Drove away a happy Gal right in time for the New Year!! Big thanks Auto Express!
My experience with Auto Express was great. Everyone was friendly. James Downey was really nice when he was selling me my 2015 Chevy Cruze. James and my parents got along great. First of all I want to say I enjoy buying/ owning new vehicles but I hate the car buying process. It’s normally long, annoying, and some sales agents are truly full of themselves. Working with Brian Stout on getting my truck has honestly been the best car buying experience I’ve ever had. I currently live in Colorado and I flew and drove down to Auto Express simply for the price. I put a deposit down on the truck and a week later I showed up, the truck was detailed, the tank was filled, paperwork was completed, I just needed to sign and drive. Absolutely no surprises. They have a large inventory of vehicles so if you are looking for a vehicle even if you are not in the immediate area I highly recommend working with Brian. Definitely worth the trip, this is how pleasant and painless car buying should be. Thanks again man!
Where to start... The selection of vehicles are pretty good. Most of them aren't older then 5 years or so. Pretty decent prices for the vehicles. I went in a total of 4 times before I purchased a 2014 passat. Each time they were polite, very accommodating to all my wants or needs. I like the fact that they allow you to test drive whatever you please by yourself. Makes it easier to test drive and see how much you really like the vehicle. I test drove 8 vehicles before I decided to go with the passat. I never had to hear a sales pitch from any salesperson I spoke to. They only went as far as answering any questions I had, no pressure what so ever. The paper was easy too. Took me a total of 2 hours to buy my car. They also fix any other issues you catch they miss (had a bad tire) within their 3 month warranty they put in every vehicle they sell for free. I also purchased window tint from them while I was purchasing the vehicle. $200 for all the windows @ 15% including a brow. Cheap and top quality work. Overall the car buying experience was great. I will be buying another car from them when I pay my passat.
I believe Auto Express is the best auto dealer in the great Lafayette area. They set everything done very soon because I told them I will move to another state soon. I bought a car from them last Saturday, and I registered my car in BMV on Tuesday. A staff in BMV told me this process usually takes 45 days to finish. You won't feel any pressure from dealer when you pick your favor car. They are very friendly, politely, reliable and responsbilty. Thanks James, you' re awesome guy.
Continue, the right back tire was flatted on 63 road on Wednesday，35 miles far from Lafayette area. My children were on board at that time. a big trouble for my family.

Was a very positive experience, the staff was helpful and very kind amid the fact that they seemed very busy with multiple people/customers. The main guy we were dealing with Joe Childes told us to take our time test driving the cars we were interested in and once we got the car we wanted they even let us take it out for about 45 minutes to eat or do whatever we wanted to do while they tried to find the lowest or best APR rate from various banks and such. Joe called us while we were out and explained to me what he was able to work out, he was able to get our monthly payment very near to what we were looking for. I am completely satisfied with my experience there and would recommend them. Thanks for the great business!
Honestly was a great experience buying the car from these guys. It was as described and I had no issues with the vehicle. I called and put a deposit on the car without ever seeing it because I was searching for 3 months to find the right car, right mileage and year that I was looking for with my purchase. I got a 2016 Dodge Durango for a great deal and couldn't be happier. Had a clean car fax and everyone communicated with me through the entire process.
They even recommended NOT to put the deposit down without driving it but I felt comfortable with the pictures and car fax that it was the right car. Came in and was exactly as described. Took it home that day.
