Update on my last review. They gave me a different car and of course the Transmission went on it. Then when we stopped paying of course it hit my credit score yet they gave me 2 faulty cars in a row. One with a bad motor and then now with a bad transmission. Do not go here the are scam artist and I already have a complaint in in Pennsylvania Attorney General and the Ohio Attorney General. In January 2026 when I am sworn into office I will be making sure a Federal Lawsuit is brought up on the company #justiceforkayleneoehling

On Saturday they hurried to get my step duaghter approved for a vehicle that was supposed to be delivered to the car lot on Tuesday. Tuesday came along and she was told the vehicle was sold out from under her. After she made an early payment on the car she was trading back in and switched her insurance over to the vehicle that was sold out from under her. This place has no regard for their customers they just want to put you in anything to get you out of the lot. Their cars are junk and have to be very careful about what you get put into.

I purchased a vehicle from JD Byrider Lafayette less than three months ago. While the sales experience itself was relatively smooth and Jordan was personable, I’m now dealing with serious mechanical issues including ignition failure and tire pressure system malfunction. These problems surfaced well within the warranty period, yet accessing repairs has been unnecessarily difficult for someone who works full-time. The dealership does not offer Saturday service hours, meaning customers must miss work to get repairs that should not be required on such a recently purchased vehicle. The registration process has also been a fiasco. I currently have a 90-day extended temporary tag because DMV paperwork remains unresolved. The visible auction stickers still on the window—combined with the rapid onset of mechanical problems—suggest this may be a rebuilt vehicle, pieced together with minimal integrity. Under Indiana’s Deceptive Consumer Sales Act, businesses are prohibited from concealing known defects or misrepresenting a product’s condition. I believe JD Byrider violated this statute by knowingly selling me a defective vehicle and failing to disclose its actual condition. When I request a loaner or alternate arrangement during the repair process, I am not asking for a favor—I am asserting a reasonable request given the hazardous condition of the car and the dealership’s duty under the warranty. Furthermore, when I called for resolution, an employee named Jeremiah flat-out refused to provide contact information for the site manager and falsely claimed to be the manager himself. If these calls are indeed recorded, as the dealership states, this interaction should be easy to verify. I also have my own recording of the call for corporate’s review, should they choose to take accountability. This is my formal notification to JD Byrider Lafayette that I consider the ignition failure, horn malfunction, and tire sensor issues to be active safety hazards. I am requesting an immediate and timely repair or appropriate resolution, with reasonable accommodation to my schedule and in line with the warranty coverage offered at the time of purchase. After the evasive and dishonest behavior I experienced on the phone, I have retained legal counsel who is now reviewing the terms of the purchase agreement and warranty limitations. If this dealership continues to obstruct access to repairs or disregards these safety concerns, I will escalate to formal litigation. This includes pursuing legal claims under Indiana’s Deceptive Consumer Sales Act, seeking rescission of the sale, and seeking compensatory damages for deceptive and negligent business practices. I also encourage others who’ve had similar experiences to do the same. You have seven business days from today to resolve this issue. I will not play phone tag with you. Failing that, I will proceed with escalations that are legal, public, and persistent. I expect a timely—and this time, professional—response.

Wanted to share my review for JD Byrider Dayton Mall. READ!! Bought a car here three years ago and it broke down within a month. Went to get the problem fixed and they claimed my catalytic fell apart when they went to fix the other issue. Quoted me an outrageous price to fix but went ahead and fixed it. A few months later the catalytic went bad again, replaced it again. About 6 months later it went out again, replaced it again. In February of this year it was acting weird so I took it to the shop. The timing chain, catalytic AND muffler all needed replaced so we spend 5K replacing it all. It was broke down by March again. Had it in the shop again and they said the engine needs replaced and said our warranty would cover. GREAT!! Then said because we don't have every single receipt for oil changes for the past two years that the warranty won't cover it after all. They are scam artists. Now we're stuck paying for a car that can't drive. DO NOT BUY HERE. Horrible place.

I keep reaching out and nobody calls the byryder in greenwood Indiana has had my car over 2 months it went from a radiator to head gasket to them breaking my timing chain that was replaced last year now they saying the timing chain cover is cracked I need my car !!!!!! I don't recommend byryder to anybody and I mean NOBODY !!!

When I approached the counter seeking assistance, I was looking for guidance and support, but instead, I felt as if I was being interrogated. The staff member assisting me, Danyel, seemed dismissive of my situation, which came across as condescending. Her tone and body language suggested that my inquiries were an inconvenience rather than an opportunity to help a customer in need. This interaction was particularly disheartening, as I was already navigating a financially challenging situation and was hoping for a more compassionate response. I think it is crucial for all team members, especially in customer-facing roles, to receive training on how to handle sensitive interactions with clients. I will never deal with byrider in Roanoke, VA ever again, nor will I refer anybody. They preapprove, false advertise and then decline you no reason and just walkaway. The manager is very Rude, definitely not in the business to help you. I have been to them twice, yesterday I came back with more money down, same information on credit report. The only thing that changed was my residence still in Roanoke, same job since 10/2023. If the manager had an issue with my residence they could have easily called. I watched them go out and let people test drive that had literally just pulled up and while I sat there. Keep in mind they only have like six cars on the lot. They pick and choose and I make well over enough income. I thought they were buy here pay here. I will also go on BBB to report false advertisement.

So I have a complaint I posted yesterday that I'm assuming was taken down. However I had my car for 2 weeks before they repossessed it over insurance issue. They took it Saturday and would not wait until Monday so I can call my insurance company. Since this is hiw they do "business" I requested to have my $1200 down-payment reimburse to me and of coirse they will not do that! The best they can do is.split the repo fees. So not only will I be contacting the company who bought then out, I will also be contacting the Better Business Bureau to report them as well. I employ anyone who has had issues with this so called "business" to do the same!

I’m very upset and disappointed with JD Byrider in Maumee Ohio. I purchased a vehicle about 3 years ago. I’m still making payments on. I have had engine trouble after having the car 2 years. Last year in November, I was told that I had to get a new engine. This vehicle is my only source of transportation. Desperately needing my car. The service manager mentioned that they had finance company that would help me get the engine by making payments to Snap Finance. This company is associated with JD Byrider. They covered the cost for $50 every week. An extra $200 added every month plus the $560 every month for the car. Total of $760 every month. Here I sit again without a vehicle. The service manager and the corporate office will NOT return my calls nor do I have a vehicle to drive. It’s been over 2 weeks. Merry Christmas to me! Thank you JD Byrider

I am literally sick to my stomach. This is only the third year I had this car. I am paying 23,000 dollars for a car worth 15, 000 if that. You would think the car out live the contract or at least a washing machine, my washing machine works better and its older than this car. Make my payments on time. Like I'm supposed to. I took the car to change battery then after byrider changed my battery, my check engine light came on. Like forreal. I spoke to someone I was told it will get checked out but the problem is Noone answers this the phone in this company EVER. I had to call cnac to leave messages so I can get the battery changed. you think people get paid to answer phones in a business where you are taking so much hard earn money from people. What kind of battery change turn in to check engine light so I'm driving my car and it starts jerking back and forth then cut off and to top it off it won't go pass 30 mph now. I call byrider because this happened today. Yes 08/14/2024 today and I call way before it's time to close and guess what no answer I called 5xs in a row. By the way WHO EVER PAYING THE RECEPTIONIST AT THE LIMA OHIO BYRIDER LOCATION IS WASTING MONEY. YOU MIGHT AS WELL FLUSH IT. YOUR PAYING FOR NOTHING. JUST LIKE THIS CAR. 23,000$ is a lot of hard days at work, a lot of busting your A$$ to get these payments. This is a complete disrespect to humanity. This business is supposed to be built on trust. We trust you with our lives. People have kids to get to school, work, DRs appointments, trips. Emergencies etc. We trusted you with everything we do, giving you money we barely have, Who do you think you are byrider to do this to people what makes you think your in titled to peoples Muscle Money and you dont have to do anything on your part to ensure the saftey and quality you promised. JD Byrder has to be the worst car lot in West Virginia. My car has been sitting here unable to run for 3 weeks. They wouldn’t even fix it and today they said their office is closing in Morgantown and haven’t even tried to schedule me in their office in clarksburg not to mention my daughters car has been in their shop 4 times and one year and the last time it was in there they let her go home with it and the transmission went out the same day! All their cars are lemons and luckily in WV we have laws about that!!!

YOUR Waco office allowed a person who purchased a car to drive off their lot without having liability insurance. The driver of that car side swipped the right side of my car trying to get 2 lanes over to turn on 5/29/24 Wednesday. She the driver informed me that she was allowed to drive the car off the lot without any liability insurance and her 1st pmt was to be made that Friday with proof of liability. Well here I am with someone who hit me but no liability insurance. Waco office said they insure their cars only. UP TO DRIVER TO PROVE THEY HAVE LIABILITY INSURANCE WHEN THEY PULL CAR OFF LOT. WELL guess that office failed. My insurance has been informed of this and if they don't come after you I will bring to civil court. MY car is MORE than likely totaled per estimate from a body shop. Just wanted to fyi corporate ofc.

If I had the option to give them no starts at all I would. 1 star is giving them too much credit. I had a car for two days and the motor blew on the side of the highway. I was told I had to pay my own tow to get it to their job. They have had my car for a week now. I literally drove the car less than 72 hrs. Nobody in the office is on the same page. One person says one thing someone else says something different. The customer service is no where near professional. Just about every car on the lot has almost 100,000 miles on them. All I can say is good luck if you choose them to do business with. You’re going to need it.

Worse car dealership ever. They have shady practices when handling peoples accounts. My parents paid off their car l truck and had been waiting for the title for 2 months. They called to see where it was and they said oh it does not seem it was sent off we are sorry we will get that mailed off to you. Another month later still no title so they do by the office to just pick it up and they say oh we can’t give you the title because you have a balance from work that was done in 2021 which they didn’t know about because nobody ever told them they owed anything for it or ever sent them any bill or phone call saying it has not been paid after 2 years. Which no one still could no seem to know why it was "overlooked" for 2 years but tells them oh we know it was our fault and even tho you did pay off your loan you still can't get your title. If somebody owes you as a company $600 you think you would notice it has not been paid in 2 years right. They are scammers and crooks do not buy a car from them

I live in Roanoke, Va and I have been having the worst troubles with my 2011 GMC TERRAIN! I purchase 6/5/2023!! I had to put a deposit down $2200. For a car that is worth $6000 I’m paying $8000 for the loan. My check engine light came on 2 days right after driving off the lot. I called about it and was told it’s something with the censor and the state of Va doesn’t care about that. 2 months later engine failure then a month later the starter failed. Mind you engine light is still on. My car been smelling like gas too until just last week 4/27/24 they fixed 2 leaks I had one in radiator and one in the water pump then they replaced the 02 censor because supposedly that was the issue but soon as I get home check engine light is still on. I tried talking to the manger there but he is VERY RUDE NO EXAGGERATION. The shop manager Keith is nice but he be lying too! He gone tell me I have a leak in my exhaust but didn’t bother fixing it cause they did enough work already!!! They are crooks with 0 ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY THEY NEED TO BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS! We need a class action lawsuit against Byrider they are predators!!!

Some help me please. I'm in KC. I've been lied to and stolen from. Not even 7 months ago chose car made down payment. Full 2 year cover in their shop they said, I used and pay for the full coverage they offered. My car was hit and run still was drivable sent police reports and continue to make my payment and insurance every two weeks with out a car now since Aug every day they say one more week its been months ice lost my job they hang up at even coorperst

No help at all, I fell on hard times due to medical issues, I paid what was asked of me to get an extension when I could I was out of work 3 months, they reprocessed the car my father gave me money to get it back, it's past due at the moment because it's broken down and I pay Uber for transportation and my rent, a pothole caused the issue and the city is willing to pay, they won't release the estimate nor will they give me a payoff for a trade ,claiming they want their money ,I have a way but they are refusing to help,this is my second car with them I paid off the first with 0 late payments. Worst ever don't buy from them

We bought a 2019 while in Florida had issues. Took it in they no questions. Couple months overheats. They tried something didn't work. Told us needed new motor water pump bad, got hot cracked head, part hit top of piston. Said it would be 7 days. We needed second car and now only had 1. They loaned us a car fixed ours in 4 days and brought it to us full of gas and detailed again. Lots of sand from the beach. We love the team in Pasco County Florida!!!!

Had the car for a little bit and had overheating issues. Was gaslit by the main mechanic supervisor and told that I dont know what I am talking about when I kept telling them it was a head gasket. Turns out I was right. Got it replaced and picked up car to have a check engine come on while driving home. It was never on before. Open up hood and my overflow tank was gone. Called byrider and was told to bring car back and that there was noway I am missing my overflow tank that the mechanic said he didnt have to remove it. Bring car back and they mysteriously find my overflow tank mixed with another cars parts. Check engine light goes off and mechanic says cant do nothing unless its on. Drive back home and its on again. I call and explain everything and again main mechanic supervisor tells me I never had missing parts and my car sounds fine. ITS NOT FINE. Its in limp mode and I have to walk 2.5 hr to work and 2.5 hr home. Still paying on a car they cant seem to fix.

If I could give a 0 I would!!! Absolutely the WORST! Total ripoffs!!! My son, who has a mental disability, went up there, without my knowledge, and bought this piece of trash car- total lemon!!! He has had problems with it right from the beginning! The has taken it up to Byrider multiple times to get fixed, and they keep giving it back to him saying it’s fixed, and then the same issues keep happening. He works an hour away and the car has broken down on him several times. The time before last, his engine blew, so I replaced it, out of my own money so he could get back to work. A couple weeks later, same thing happened, so it’s obviously some sort of electrical issue or something. Our friend checked it with his scanner and FIFTEEN codes showed up!!! I had to buy my son a new car so he wouldn’t lose his job! I called corporate and they said to contact the franchise. I contacted the franchise and they said it was a corporate issue. I called corporate 2 more times and the call mysteriously disconnected. I called again and was transferred to a very rude woman. I asked for my son to be allowed out of his contract and they could take this piece of junk back, and she refused. A complaint with the BBB is next as well as a lawyer because I will NOT be putting another engine in that thing!!!!

Called this morning hoping to get customer service however the first time I called I was hung up on once I explained about the car having two safety issues less than 30 days. Then the second time was given a name and number for Jason in Jacksonville FL. When I called the number Michael answer the phone and told me Jason is out of the office for a week ( how convenient) then when he ask for my name he rudely became to insult my name stating it was named after a fish which is not true. So not only I don't have a car and had my name insulted during the process of getting another car because I don't trust a car that shuts off while driving and the driver door unable to close but no one has done their job and seem to be ran by a bunch of immature children. It's 11:46 am and waited close to three hours for someone to contact me at this point I just want my $1600 back so I can do business with a trustworthy company.

Has been a horrible experience. Had the car for 6 months and have had it break down 3 times now with transmission issues. On top of that was charged for the lojack service and never got it. Talked to corporate and all they can do is send an alert to the management team which is the same people in the local office. So I got sold a lemon and charged for a service that I don't get. Hmmmm..... really. No point in telling me to call the corporate number either since I have already done that and still didn't get any help. What a scam!

I regret getting a vehicle, from this company. Each of the car lots are rip offs, even the people that corporate office don't care about their customers. They rip off old people to the youngest. They lie they steal money from you they give you broke down cars. I was told they do not check their cars out, to see what is wrong and what need to be fixed. After I had my car for 4 days it broke down. I was told they do not have lenders, I'm talking about another vehicle for you to drive. This is sad, money is more important than their customers having good transportation. They lied and said that my payment will be 209 every 2 weeks, it's $400 I really regret getting a vehicle from them.

Poor customer service. Corporate office is an absolute joke. If you call to ask for a payoff receipt or the difference they owe you - you just get sent to your local JD Byrider. Local will not give any information they refer you to corporate. Corporate has hung up on me twice too. This place gives poor quality “customer service”. I was also told they don’t have supervisors or anyone higher up I could speak to, what good call center states stuff like that? Is that really protocol for how you treat your customers? If I would have know what I know then now, I would’ve never even considered buying a vehicle from them. They are about the sale and that is all. Please take your business elsewhere. Plenty of other companies that have values that are able to get you into a nice vehicle. I’m so happy my vehicle is paid in full.

I was buying a car from them and a 17 year old boy rear ended me, totalling my car. I called them and told them. They did not tell me I had been paying for accident insurance. I got the boy's insurance to send a check to them for the totalled car. They told me for almost a month that they did not receive the check. (The check was mailed on 8/23 so they had it the whole time). Every time I called they transferred me. 2 months later I still don't have a car bc they said I told them I didn't want to get another car from them. Which is not true. I called corporate and they transferred me to my home office!!! I am suing this company bc I want my check that was suppose to go towards a down payment for another car. This is a HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!!

I was in a terrible car accident and needed a car asap went to them because of the down payment plan they do and this was the worst thing I ever did I ended up buying a 2014 Ford Focus and with in the last 2 1/2 months since I bought I have been stranded on a side of the road 2xs and with out a car for weeks day my payment was due CNAC called me to college money but guy was extremely nasty called me a liar and everything what do you know the very next day my transmission stopped working and left me for almost 11 hours on the side of the road with my 10-year-old son run from this company They take advantage of you when you are desperate and could careless as long as they have their money!!!!

I bought a vehicle from the Akron location one year and four months ago. It has been serviced for the same issue 10 times and they still have yet to fix it. Gregg the owner was horribly unprofessional and rude l. Melissa and Marty both managers there are extremely unorganized. They have replaced both Cadillac converters on me vehicle twice now within 6 months. I have been paying monthly for a lemon that isn't even safe or reliable for me and my family . Because of this company myself along with my children have been without a vehicle during my pregnancy and this pandemic. I have missed several weeks of work and they have added so much more stress on to my family . Absolutely the worst experience in my life . Don't walk RUN from this company !
