My husband and I both use Superior Auto Works and love their whole team. Everyone is so welcoming when you walk in, and we always get great service. We really trust the work they do and their recommendations. At my most recent visit, Joe went above and beyond by taking it upon himself to drive to a nearby Repair Center to pick up the part that I had been waiting on for my car and fixed up my trim piece himself free of charge while my car was in the shop. Worked with Brian to repair a failed AC compressor on a 2000 VW Beetle. They were the ONLY repair shop willing to even look at our beetle. Repairs were handled very professionally and the overall experience was outstanding. Highly recommend them!

I wrote my original review several years ago. As many businesses come and go, or flat out change perspectives -- Superior Auto Works has stayed completely consistent in quality of services offered. Joe and team really stuck with my car (now a 2011 Merc C300) to diagnose a weird feeling with the drive. There are a number of places you can take a car to get repaired -- but there are few that will truly get to the root of the problem and make certain that it's properly resolved with no lingering issues (or why it can't be resolved, as was my case this last week).
I really only trust Superior to work on my cars now. When/where I'm allowed to have work done, I tend to get on the schedule at Superior to have things resolved proper the first time. Every dollar I've spent has been well spent money -- I really can't say enough good about this team.

I was recommended to these guys when I was looking at buying my BMW. 5 different people who were not involved in the same conversation told me to talk to Joe & company.
Two years ago, they did an unbelievable inspection on my car before I purchased it.
Last year they saw a problem developing on the tensioner on the serpentine belt, contacted my warranty company and got things lined up to get it fixed (before I had problem).
This week (04-Mar-2014) they went well above the line of duty when I reported a mysterious leak. They found that I had 2 major leaks and battled my warranty company (for me) to get everything covered that needed repaired. Not only does my car work as it did when I drove it off the lot, but I really have a sense that everything about the car is working fine.
If you're looking for a reliable, neutral, honest, auto mechanic who delivers exceptional value for the money, I +HIGHLY+ recommend you give them a call. I cannot say enough positive about my experiences with them and how lucky I feel to have been recommended to them.
I'm brand new in town, had an issue with a tire and popped into Superior Auto Works without an appointment. The three men running the business that morning were gracious, gave good advice, rapidly fixed my tire and aired the other three without me asking. Gave me a tour of the auto bays ... very clean, nicely finished and impressive! A pleasant intro ... now I have my go-to to keep my truck running reliably.
I love my MINI and was afraid it was time to say good bye. After the dealership gave me an eye-popping estimate for a clutch repair, I called around town to find a good shop and get advice. Joe was so straightforward about whether it was worth doing and promised to get to the root cause. I am glad I entrusted my car to Joe and his team. They have all gone above and beyond to get me back on the road, and I'm confident I'll be driving my car for a long time.
I called the shop for an estimate on an expensive repair that I was sure I needed. Instead, their mechanic gave me some advice over the phone on how I could confirm the diagnosis. When I couldn't reproduce the problem, he offered to have a look before taking the car in and disassembling the engine. He checked everything and assured me that the part in question had already been replaced and the car was perfectly safe to drive. I was never charged anything.
I couldn’t ask for a better experience. Even before I had my car to the shop, Joe spent nearly 3 hours on the phone with me and a shady dealership trying to do unnecessary work on our X5. Once I took it to the shop, he squeeze me in and was able to get all the information to me about my car, specific and detailed expectation and was immensely helpful during the entire process. We ended up needing quite a bit more work than we were both expecting (Joe and I) but a previous job on our value cover created a few more issues than desired. That said, Joe did a great job communicating, his team was very responsive and helpful and I will be using them exclusively in the future on all my cars.
They value their clients/customers and will do a thorough job. It’s hard to find good help and honest work, but Superior exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds. Thanks Joe!
I had recently bought a vintage Audi TT (1st generation) and although it was in good shape for its year, this was definitely a project car. I decided to entrust it to Superior Auto, as one of their areas of expertise is in German autos. I was told at a dealership that various certain repairs would cost me several thousand dollars worth of work. For example, the timing belt and tensioner at the dealership were over $1,000 from what Superior charged. In short, my car has been returned to excellent driving condition
and I saved a lot of money. These folks are capable, competent and most importantly ethical. I will continue to use them whenever possible not just for my Audi, but for my Cadillac.
The shop is extremely knowledgeable about all different types of cars and different problems. If you’re looking for a discount shop or the cheapest garage in town, this is not the place. But if you want your repair and service done right the first time, trust Superior. They use the very best parts they can source. Everyone is super cool. It’s hard to get an immediate appointment but they will work with you. They really know how to diagnose and fix everything
Joe is absolutely fantastic - knows cars, thorough, responsive and a great person. He did a PPI on a used vehicle I was looking to purchase (from out in CA) and identified some significant issues that helped me make my decision. Very fairly priced. I’d work with him again in a heartbeat.
The owner and his employees are so kind and helpful. They try to help as best they can with the BMW knowledge they possess. They do a great job. I definitely refer them if you are needing any work completed or you need your vehicle looked at.
I was refered to Joe at Superior Auto Works by a business associate. I've been very impressed with how meticulous joe is when he works on my car. The quality of the work is second to none in my experience. However, every time I go into the shop, there is a new office guy. One time I was charged $600 for an oil change. So, the administrative side is very inconsistent. But Joe works on Diesels and not everyone does.
Our daughter was returning to school this fall on a record high temperature day. She was three hours from home and three hours from school when her engine overheated. She stopped at one garage and they said she would have to schedule an appointment and could not do much for her. She left frustrated and empty handed. She next went to Superior Auto Works just as the garage was closing. Everyone was headed home for the night. Joe (the owner) stayed to look at her engine, assessed it as a slow/slight coolant leak, showed her the problem and how to put more coolant in when the engine was cool enough, researched the coolant she needed, and made sure she had plenty of the right coolant to get back on the road. She turned her AC off and confidently made the rest of her trip with his assurance that he would tell his own daughter to do the same. Car is under warranty still and she will have it repaired at school.
Thank you so much Joe for going above and beyond to help a young person with car trouble! It is alarming as a parent when you fear your loved one may be broken down on the road without assistance.

I recently had Superior Auto Works take a look at my Forester for a second opinion after the Subaru dealership wanted to charge me $3000 for a repair.
Brian and Joe were very friendly and pointed out that the issue was likely carbon build up. An issue that can be simply resolved with an intake cleaning.
After it was all said and done, I no longer have a CEL or rough idle and it cost a fraction of what the dealership wanted.

My friend who owned Sams Auto Repair closed his amazing shop and had always worked on my vehicle. It was the best shop in Carmel. He was hired by Superior Auto Work. So, of course, I followed him.
I took my Yukon 6.2L to Superior, just for an oil change.
At Sams Auto, I previously had them put some dye in my air-conditioning to find a leak. So I asked the owner of Superior to see if my friend could see the leak.
I got a bill for $190.00 for just an oil change. I was told I had multiple problems with my vehicle. I NEVER asked for an inspection. The bill was going to be over $5000. To fix a rear engine oil leak and all my other issues.
I took my car to Pyramid lube & alignment. It was $153.00 to fix my air-conditioning and $79.00 for full synthetic oil change.
The owner Of Superior is a scammer. Beware!
I have gave one star not because I paid 200$ for the diagnosis but in my diagnosis noone from your team updated me the same exact root cause of the issue and told me to check with the dealership.
And not provided any documentation for the same.
And then warranty company call you for the same you told them that we already diagnose this issue.
Apart from them Everything is fine from your end but because of this warranty company rejected my complaint and then I need to spend 3000$ dollar just because of lack of communication and not any documentation.
I highly recommend taking your foreign vehicle to Superior Auto Works. They are very professional, and customer service oriented. The name says it all! Superior Auto Works. They do an outstanding job maintaining all of my high performance vehicles. I have taken my cars to other foreign auto mechanics around the city, and by far these guys are on the top of my list.
Fantastic service. I was worried about finding a mechanic I could trust once my dealership warranty expired, but everyone I asked recommended Superior to me. I'm happy to report that Joe and his team have taken excellent care of my truck, and I recommend him to anyone with a BMW.

I've now owned my 2006 BMW X5 for 11 years and it's running great, still, thanks to Joe and Superior Autoworks.
Brought my 2003 BMW 3 series in and ended up needing the entire engine replaced. Joe and his team were amazing! He got the work done exactly when he told me it would be done, he communicated with me through the entire process, and his pricing is very reasonable. I will be bringing my vehicles here for all the work that needs done from now on. The attention to detail and just making sure absolutely everything was done right impressed me greatly, you can tell that Joe takes pride in the work that comes out of his shop.
Serviced my X1 28i XDrive here twice in the last year. The work they do is beyond my expectation every time! The team’s tremendous attention to detail given to inspections and respect given to the cars in for service is much appreciated! They keep a surgically clean shop and I wish I could hangout there sometimes! My 5 year old daily drives like a new car thanks to the team at S.A.W. I will continue to be a customer for the long ownership of this car.
Took my 2007 high mileage Lexus GS300 in during the COVID quarantine to take advantage of the bumper to bumper inspection advertised on a flyer for $150. I will add that I had them look into a check engine light as well as a rough idle I was getting from the car. Two days later I got a call saying there is $6600 in repairs needed and my bill for the inspection would be $240. I understand that I had them diagnose a specific problem and I had assumed they would increase the charge for that additional service. HOWEVER I was never notified before they added $100 to the agreed upon amount. But whatever, $100 isn't what urged me to write this review.
The thing that solidified for me that I will never take a car here or recommend a friend or family member to take a car here for service is that when I asked for the inspection findings to be printed off at the time of paying the $240, the owner of the shop said "oh it'll be a lot easier on my end to just email it". (I will add, that at this time I told the owner that I won't be completing the $6600 in repairs with them because I had priced out the work at other shops to be nearly 1/3 the price. You could tell his attitude changed right then.) I said that's no problem I understand, ill look for an email later on. Later that evening I still had not received an email with the inspection findings. I gave them a call and asked what had happened. The owner said " Yeah Sir, so I'm not going to give you that list because I think its best for you to have your other shop do a full inspection and do what they think is necessary." I asked him why he would tell me to my face he would email it when he knew the whole time he wouldn't... the owner is a liar and coward. Thank god I didn't go through with the $6600 in repairs.
I took my older Volvo to a specialist in Fishers & was told I needed an engine replacement.
I tried Joe at Superior Auto Works for a 2nd opinion. He diagnosed, compression tested, reset computer,& repaired for less $$ than Fishers shop check out.
Joe is good on any vehicle especially European.
We will take our MB, BMW, Volvo to Superior Auto Works from now on.

After having far too many disappointing service experiences at authorized dealerships, I wanted an independent inspection of a suspected problem on my 2018 BMW M550i. After reading the reviews posted about Superior Auto Works, my decision to reach out for an appointment was made quickly and without hesitation. Wow, what a great experience!! More than fair pricing, sound and no-pressure recommendations/solutions, professional/prompt/friendly communication throughout, and impressive attention to detail (even on things I didn't catch, and I'm overly particular concerning my vehicles.) They even washed and vacuumed out my car prior to pick-up, and gave me a tour of the shop!! Talk about clean... one could eat off the floors!

On advice from a friend I took my Nissan to Superior Auto Works. Was a great experience. Skeptical at first as I am a female without much vehicle knowledge. Joe and Brett took the time to explain what they would be doing and even took me on a tour of the shop. Now I will admit that I don't know a lot about automotive shops (except your Jiffy Lubes/Tires Plus type of shops); but this place is cleaner than any place I have ever been! The repairs were completed in a timely manner and everything was explained in great detail what had been done to the vehicle. Will easily go back as a viable alternative to the Dealer. I was having some minor issues with my car and other shops were having trouble properly diagnosing and fixing the issues I was having. I normally take my car to the dealership but it just wasn't getting fixed.
On a recommendation I was told to call Brett and make an appointment for an evaluation of my concerns at Superior. The business is properly named, SUPERIOR Auto Works. Great experience. I sat and met with Brett who listened to and noted my concerns. We also discussed what had been done prior at other facilities. I agreed to leave the car there for two days while they evaluated my concerns.
Around 12:00 on the second day I got a call from Brett. I went into the shop and met with Brett again and the technician. After some discussion I agreed to let them proceed and make repairs. They also noted a problem that could be a bigger problem if not addressed soon. I had it fixed too. Very, very happy. Great facility. Great Staff. Was able to meet the owner, Joe, and received a tour of the facility. The place is spotless and receives my recommendation to family and friends. Thanks Joe and Brett.
We had an excellent experience at Superior Auto Works! Since purchasing our car, we had it serviced at the Lexus dealership. We decided we wanted service closer to our home and had heard great things about Superior. We were not disappointed. Doug at the front desk was knowledgeable and very personable. He helped us understand our car's needs and professionally presented our estimate. Following our service, I couldn't believe the difference in the way my car drove. I thought it drove great before having it was serviced. After Joe's excellent craftsmanship, my car drove like a brand new car. I highly recommend this shop.You won't find any place where the staff cares as much about customers and their cars as do the guys at Superior Auto Works. I know from my own personal experience that they will treat you fairly, and they will take care of your car. When you enter the front door, meet "Dutch" at the front counter. He'll take care of you.
So today, I picked up my beloved BMW from Superior after being there for a lenghtly (not a fault of Superior) and complex repair. First, let me preface that I consider myself reasonably knowledgeable about cars due to having worked in the auto industry and being a car enthusiast. When it comes to automotive repair, I expect perfection - yeah I am the mechanic's worst nightmare as I scrutinize every aspect of the job and crawl around the car making sure the car is not missing a single screw after the repair is complete. So when I dropped the car off, I was frankly worried, especially given the extent of the work required. Let me tell you - these guys know their stuff. I was skeptical but they proved me wrong each time I second guessed them about something. Actually they were more knowledgeable than one of the BMW techs I talked about one portion of the repair. They took their time, it had to be done their way, but at the end you could not tell that the car was touched by a mechanic. This is the standard of service you seldom get. So be prepared: your car will be fixed right, it may take a bit longer than elsewhere, but at the end it is worth it. The shop is spotless, has good equipment, the car is properly protected during repair, the parts are well organized and looks like the techs are all seasoned. I am glad to have them so close to me. Great job - you deserve to be called Superior.
