Always great customer service! These guys do an excellent job for an affordable price in a timely manner. They're honest, trustworthy, and good at what they do.
We tried multiple times to use them due to proximity. We won’t be using them going forward. Every time we’ve dropped off for service our bill is over double what we were quoted with no phone call or discussion to the bill being higher until we picked it up.

My car broke down and I could tell it had some pretty intense issues. They were able to get my car in within a week and they work with a tow company to streamline the process and invoice. I got a phone call midday letting me know the extent of the issues with my vehicle. Even after I declined any repairs, they were extremely kind and thoughtful. They offered me solutions and recommendations for selling my vehicle and put no pressure on me to have it immediately towed away. Best possible experience with all of the stress. I will absolutely be back to them in the future.

I took my Porsche to Mears because they were able to fix my husband's Chevy Van after half a dozen other places had given up. They gave me good advice, got me back on the road quickly and saved me money.
I was at a conference 100+ miles from home with car trouble late at night. A woman at my lunch table the next day recommended Mears in Carmel. Light of day, the cause was apparent - 3 out of 5 lugs broken off. (Lucky I made it to the hotel) Toby at Mears was able to schedule an appointment the last day of the conference. AAA towed my car to Mears while I finished the conference sessions. I called with our diagnosis, so Toby could get the the parts. Got a ride from coworkers to Mears, where my car was nearly ready. On my way SAFELY home in less than an hour - thanks to Toby and crew!

Inexpensive, Quality Product, Fixed the issue
I have a 2011 Chevy Tahoe and the air conditioning went out. When I went to another auto shop, they stated they wouldn't be able to fix the issue because they were understaffed and didn't have the people to completely remove the front dashboard, which is where the issue occurred. I called multiple auto shops, all of which said they wouldn't do it or tried charging over $3,000. Finally, I called Mears and was quoted the cheapest price and was able to fix the issue within a couple days. The guys there are very polite, went through everything with me, and kept me in the loop throughout the entire process. Mears will be the first place I check if I ever need work done on my vehicles.
I have used Mears Auto repair for a few years now and what keeps me coming back is the fact that they are honest, affordable, reliable And don’t try to upsell services that are not needed. I would recommend this business to anyone who asks me if I know a reputable mechanic service.
Over and Beyond
We took our Honda Civic in for some routine maintenance, but we also had a problem with the seatbelt on our Honda Odyssey which had become jammed. Mears quickly and kindly fixed the problem and didn't even charge us. Who does that these days? On top of that, the work on our Civic was completed in one day. Friendly and efficient, Mears of Carmel is the only place we take our cars.
Just a note to let you know that I was always impressed with your service. When problems with the starter reappeared, you honored a warranty that I was unaware that comes with repairs. After going to my dealership’s service shop for several years I decided to give Mears a try. They came highly recommended by many rating sites. This first visit was about the brakes, looking into pulsing/vibrating actions while braking at higher speeds. Mears replaced the front rotors and brake pads, and bled the entire brake system. Work was done on time as promised, at a competitive price. I will do future business with Mears.

Most recently, I brought in my 2023 Ram for an oil change, and as always, they provided exceptional service. They meticulously inspected the entire vehicle and even identified several items still under warranty that needed attention from the dealership. Mears has become our trusted mechanics. They are very professional and pleasant people. We were having some issues with an older vehicle and they made us feel comfortable and confident that things would be taken care of and that we would know what repairs to prioritize. Nate was very willing to talk through all the repairs and explain the cost of repair. I really appreciate their transparency and trustworthiness.
Terrible company. I brought my car in because my brakes were making a noise and my AC was completely dead. $1100.00 later and the brakes are fixed but nothing was done with the AC. So I bring it back in and they charge me a couple more hundred dollars and was told it “should work now”. By this point it’s like December so I can’t really test it for months. Come a warm spring day I turn on my AC and? Dead. Still. I call them up and ask them to repair it for free. They call back and not only refuse to fix the issue for free, they acted like they told me it wasn’t fixed and all they did was a diagnostic on the AC. That is not what was told to me. Had I known that they had added a dye to the Freon tank looking for a leak, I would have scheduled a follow up appointment right then and there. They then had the balls to tell me they couldn’t even truly fix the issue in one more appointment (because they failed to do their job correctly the last 2 times I was in). Stay away from these bait and switch conmen please!

Somehow my previous review was deleted, so here it is again. They WAY over charge, which wasn’t the case a few years back but seems to be the new normal. The last 3 times I took my vehicle here the quote was double or more than what other shops ended up doing the work for. The final straw was a locked up brake rotor - they wanted $1200 to redo my brakes another shop did it for $600. Absolutely not worth it take your business elsewhere.
I was having issues with my radio screen and lights flickering in my Cruze. I knew it was the alternator and that it needed replaced before I got there. They got me in right away and had my car a day and it was fixed. They replaced my alternator and did an inspection and told me of other things that needed repaired in the future. They even mentioned that the part was under warranty that was replaced so that made me feel comfortable. As a person who is hard to gain trust for, this group won my trust and future business. They were extremely helpful and nice, and they made sure I was taken care of. Thank you Mears!

Mears to have it checked out before I left on a trip. They called me and told me everything looked great. After I picked it up, the air conditioning wouldn't work… there is never been an issue with it before. I feel like if they had given it a thorough check up they would have noticed this and called me saying there was an issue. Super disappointed..I will not return.
Just had my car repaired here and I was so impressed with the customer service and overall experience. I’ll never take my car elsewhere. Professional communication, honest service, and kind people. Repairs took longer than expected and they gave me a complimentary loaner car, communicated early and explained everything clearly. As a woman, it was a breath of fresh air to be spoken to like a real person at an auto repair company.
I was beyond impressed with the service and care I received here. Quote for rotors and breaks was spot on and actually less at checkout. They even helped me with oil change price as it was higher than I expected. I had called a few places and thought they were middle price point I wanted to go local and their reviews were so awesome I had to give them a try. To make it even better, they even offered me a loaner car for the day so I didn’t have to wait and didn’t have to refill gas or anything. The lobby and restroom though small were super clean I can’t emphasis how great the experience was. Definitely going back. Nice to feel cared for and not just another dollar. Five stars!!!

Mears Carmel did a wonderful job on my 2013 Ford Fusion which had just run off of extended warranty.
Quick, complete, and easily handled.
The Ford dealer had the car 3 times and still did not have everything completed.
Took it in to Ford first for oil change, car recall, and speaker problems.
First time, they sent me to their quick lane for the oil change because they did not have parts for the rest. (They mailed me the recall notice!)
Second time, they said scheduling fouled things up and it could not be done that day, but parts would be ordered.
They also recommended the Brake flush, coolant flush and ignition tune-up.
Third time, they did the recall work, but did not do the speaker, because it had not been ordered.
That is the last time this car will be to the Ford dealer in Carmel.

I have been here multiple times now and have not had a bad experience yet. They do high quality work at fair prices. They also go out of their way to help meet your needs, and have great customer service. They were able to provide me with a loaner car when they had to keep my own car overnight. This is definitely my go-to shop! I keep coming back because Mears is reliable, priced appropriately, and doesn't upsell you on repairs. I can trust them to be honest and fair.
