My first time here, brought 3 loads of scrap. Everyone was really nice and helpful through the entire process. Rachel at the front desk was really nice. Dave, the supervisor inside, took the time to educate my boys and I on identifying specific metals and was very helpful. I would highly recommend and go back again!
This is a fine scrap yard. It has very specific organized piles for different types of metals and alloys. I am always very happy with my business dealings there.
I have been going here since we moved down here 3 or 4yrs back. I've gotten to know the people pretty well I especially like Dave he is awesome and he knows a lot. They are good on prices. I go there only. Friendly people.
I am a truck driver and my company delivers to this place. I don't like how when they say next truck in line and you are the next truck someone jumps in front of you

I went today to pick up a specific size of pipe. I told the employee exactly what I needed. I explained first thing that I needed the pipe in 10' lengths or shorter that we could weld into 10' lengths. I had with me a 10' trailer. I was directed to run all over creation between the various facilities on both sides of the road. It was darn near impossible to find anyone to help me, especially in the facility on the south side of the road. After approximately an hour and a half between both facilities I was led back to pipe in 20' lengths at the facility on the north side of the road where I started out. The same employee who had kept me waiting for over an hour only then told me they won't cut the pipes in half for any price per cut! There was no negotiating, no price could be paid for the cuts. I needed five pipes cut for ten halves. I couldn't believe that the pipe I needed was right in front of me and there was no amount of money I could pay to get the length I'd asked for in the first place! The employee fed me some line about how the office ladies wouldn't know how to charge for cuts. I had to leave completely empty handed. This was complete waste of time. Don't go to this scrap yard. They will waste your day and aren't up front with you. I hope to never set foot back in this place.
Was skeptical at first about recycling centers, but this place is a game changer. Not sure how many of you have said that "the place you were at was just ok, but the people made the difference", but the entire time I was here, that's what I thought.
It was a little confusing for me since I had never been there but if you read the signs closely it's not too bad. I took an old dish washer and microwave and they did pay allot better than I expected. I am not physically able to do much and the people were very helpful. I've been to other scrap yards that aren't nearly as helpful, definitely better than most.
Would have been GREAT if they would have said remove the fuel tank on the vehicle we took rather than haul it back home . We were told to make sure the tank was empty drill holes in the bottom..it was so empty there wasn't even any gas odor
My recycling company has been doing business with RIM for over 3 years now. Rochester Iron and Metal is a very reliable and easy to work with company. We look forward to doing more business in the future with them!
Extremely rude people! The lady at the window is rude and miserable and the operators act like they don't want to be bothered with anyone! I will never do business with these people again!
Went this morning to drop off the aluminum cans I have accumulated and a few pieces of steel. The woman by the name Anna grabbed the steel and threw it down on my tailgate, creating a large dent and scratch. I saw the gentleman that was helping to unload just look and shake his head.
Unless you have been here before you don't really know what to do or where to go after dropping off the scrap metal and nobody is friendly or helpful. Even the attendee at the window by the name of Jill was rude. The employees don't want to talk to the customers there needs to be signs.
Not a good experience taking in a truck bed of aluminum cans and only get $52.00 and probably a $500.00 bill if I wanted the dent and scratches fixed. It's a truck and it won't be fixed but I say this out of principal.
