Like all tow places,they are out to drain your wallet.They do that to keep your property.Unreasonable prices.They will impound your vehicle,even though they can tow it to your house.They won,t tell you that though.
They will take your car.. Hide it.. Tell you they dont have it until the charges are high enough that you wouldn’t pay for it.. then probably sell it to the tow truck driver that took it who wanted the car in the first place..
Terrible customer service.
Wife was involved in accident. Elkhart PD called towing. We informed them to take it to a repair shop. They took it to their facility. When I called and inquired why that occurred, I was told "not to get smart with me."
People make mistakes, I get that. Getting shitty with the customer isn't a good look on your business. Do better.
This tow company is terrible, in the middle of them towing my truck they got a call from the police and told me they would have to go answer the police tow first....confused, how do you stop in the middle of a tow to leave someone starnded???
Watch out for these price gougers! These guys towed me 12 miles and charged me $937! They charged me more than what companies charge for semi truck towing. A semi weighs 60k-80k, I only weigh 25k. If these people will do this to one person they’ll do it to anyone!
I’ve got Howard‘s phone number saved in my cell phone contacts in case I need them. They have provided me excellent service in the past and if I need a tow, I will use certainly use them again.

This place has no heart, in town from Florida for 48hours for a funeral parked in my sisters yard for 20 minutes to change my clothes. Without any no parking signs anywhere this place impounds my rental because I couldn’t find the keys. Then I find the key Google search this place it says it’s open at 8am mind you I have a funeral this morning, I have a friend bring me here all the way from south bend off mayflower at 8am (with Google saying they’re open) i call them at 8:10 since I don’t see anyone they tell me they’re not gonna be in till after nine. Then charged me $550 to get the car!!! Straight bonus charges they had the car for less than 15 hours. !! This place is grimy
They helped me when I truly needed help and ended up not needing their help and they still went out of their way to follow me and make sure I made it to my destination my car was broken down but when they showed up it started and they still made sure I got to my destination without charging me I give them five stars most friendliest nicest people I've ever met
My son's van was impounded due to being arrested. Ok. Called to get it out. Said 804.00 for 5 days and he had to get it out. Still in jail. Now out. 1 week and over 1000.00. . Something is not right with this company
Was involved in a crash on my motorcycle. The gentlemen thay came out on April 5th around 1800 hours to pick it up was amazing and professional.
The young lady, I believe tracey? I apologize ma'am I'm terrible with names has been fantastic bending over backwards to help me. If her name was not Tracey, whoever was working 08April at around 0900 has been fantastic. Thank you very much!!!!
My son's car got towed, and they help were very helpful. They calmed my son, who was stressed out over the whole ordeal. I would highly recommend them.
I had contacted storage rentals of america and the gentleman there was told of my situation and that I would have a payment of what I owed which was only 170 dollars. He informed me my vechiles would not be towed. Another lady decided to go against the agreement without notifying me and when I called the tow yard the lady in charge said just the tow fee itself was 600 per vechile maybe more and that if I was to pick at least one up it would cost 1600 dollars to pick it up on Friday. Lady refused to work out a payment plan or to hold my vechiles title as collateral
Till the fees were paid off. I also have important medications and documents in them that are desperately needed. And am sure to claim my items it will cost a arm and a leg. What a bunch of crooks this place says they care but they don't. They don't care those vechiles are the only reliable transportation I have and just started a new job and would be willing to work out something. Lady very rude that answered the phone. How will I get to work if I don't have a reliable vechile. Would be willing to pay what I owe in time but need my reliable vechiles to do so. This businesses has no heart or compassion. What's even funnier is those 2 vechiles aparently now have a lien on them from child support office so they cannot do anything with them
My whole experience with them was great. The ladies in the office were so nice and very understanding. I went and paid but had to leave my car behind until I could get someone to take me back to pick it up. They allowed me to leave my car parked on their property until later in the afternoon. Thank you to the Ladies running Howard's for caring and treating me with the upmost respect.
Was expecting the same cold rude almost criminal experience we had at Toms24 awhile back and we were pleasantly surprised. This crew is very Understanding and compassionate about the fact that there customers are used to having to pull teeth and pay more than the vehicle is worth to obtain there property back and it shows!
This is only for the lady that helped me on the phone she is really nice and helped me to figure out what I needed to do. Would be nice if they were willing to cut a break on fees and took cards but not really their fault either they gotta run a business.
Wish I could give negative stars!! Got into an accident, and the cops called this company. I asked the driver how much it would cost to tow it where I needed, he quoted me $460. I told him to take it to their lot as it would've only been $240. It was in their lot less than 24 hours and the cost was $770! They charged a $125 "admin fee," and 2 days worth of lot storage even though it was there less than 24 hours. They also added a $100 oil dry fee when oil dry was never used. Then Tracy, the office lady, got REALLY crappy with my mom when she just looked frustrated, my mom didn't even say anything. We were told cash only, but yet they didn't have ANY money for change. They also almost lost the keys because their kids were playing around their key wall. Super unprofessional and really rude for no reason. Of course people are upset coming in because you're ripping everyone off! This company is beyond a scam and I'd recommend calling ANY company other than this!!
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I'd give 0 stars if I could. This company is inconsiderate and a joke. We got our car towed and the car wasn't even on yet, so we offered to pay right there. They still took our car, it was on a Saturday night and they weren't open on Sunday so we got it on Monday around 11am because we were told it would be $120 more if we get it past 12pm. The lady said it was gonna be $525 which is ridiculous and when we got there they told us $580, obviously trying to take more money from us. When we looked at the invoice they charged us for 3 nights!! We immediately called her again and when we explained that she charged us for 3 nights when it wasn't even 48 hours, it was 37 to be exact, she hung up on us. What kind of a professional person does this? If you don't enjoy your job, leave it instead of taking it out on people. Customer service is not your forte.

Accidentally clicking my locked button when buckling my kid in the car seat and put my keys in the front seat. Locking my child in the cold car. I called Howard’s for a locksmith and they came within like 10 mins. Thank you so much! Definitely recommend them

Towed my vehicle after it was totaled last year. We were dazed after the crash and didn't get all of our belongings. Although it was our fault for not grabbing everything it's sad that the employees stole a gold bracelet off the rear view that had ashes hanging on it. I called to ask if they could just tell all the employees that we didn't care about the $800 bracelet if we could just have the ashes back no questions asked and no one was willing to speak up. Not to mention the nasty rude office woman threatening to call the cops because we left our son out front in the car while we gathered our stuff from the totaled vehicle while a family member was parked next to it keeping watch. Instead of asking and realizing we had someone watching they acted really trashy. Not shocking behavior from thieves I suppose
NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. This Christmas, I had relatives stay in town and not even 6 hours of them being parked outside our home their rental car was towed. The next day, when trying to figure out where the car had gone, we called only to be met with rude customer service. Then, to be told, the cost of the tow job would be over $500 and not even available to be gotten that day without more money spent. Then, when we did get the car back, the receipt also had the wrong home for the tow notice, and no stated time when it was picked up. I would give 0/5 stars, but that's not possible. These people are crooks and heartless
On my way home this evening I got a flat tire right off the exit turning onto 19. I don’t handle stressful situations well and have no idea how to change a tire (and would honestly struggle due to some personal limitations). My husband was on his way to help however it would be 30 + minutes before he would be there to change it. Zack (spelling could be wrong, I apologize) pulled up behind me, asked if I had a spare, and offered to put it on. Even used his own tools since mine aren’t the best. He let me know exactly what he was doing/would be doing to change my tire. He was extremely kind and mannered. I appreciate the interaction and kindness he put into this sometimes terrible world. If I ever need services again, Howard’s will be who I call.

Great experience. Almost 60 years old and never had to deal with having a car towed. From guys in the yard, the driver of the truck and the ladies in the office were all very helpful and understanding. I hope to never have to use these services again, but if I do I won't hesitate to call Howards.
Best experience I’ve had with any type of car service in my life. After working a 12 hour shift at Elkhart General and having my tire explode after hitting a pothole, with absolutely no way to get home or way to take care of my car at 8 PM, Howard’s was a godsend. Their dispatcher was so sweet and reassuring about cost and time. The driver got to me within ten minutes even with an ETA of 30 or more. I got a ride home along with my car back to Michigan and he was pleasantly good company, a very nice guy and handled my car with care. As a small woman stranded in Elkhart at dusk, I felt safe and in good hands, which I think is important to note.

Unfortunately my car was impounded because the vehicle was park in a dangerous spot. We try several towing companies and all was a two hour wait. Go figure summer time lol. We had to get to Enterprise before they close and when I came back car was gone. I’m lucky nobody got hurt. Was inform of this company that took the car in. Lady I spoke with was very professional and kind. Had them tow to my house until I can get it look at. Thank You very much. Would recommend for your future needs.
