Dicks towing in Joliet are horrible people. I was in a car accident and had a rental parked at my apartment complex. It was the weekend and I was unable to contact the apartment complex to notify them. Dicks towed my rental. I then told them I would have a different car later on that day. They told me to call them with the details of the car and it would not be towed. The very next night, the car was towed. He claims he told me it was on the do not tow list for one night only. That is a lie. He never disclosed that information to me. They are horrible people that do not care about anyone or anything besides the almighty dollar. I was in a terrible position, and they insisted on making it worse. God don’t like ugly. What goes around comes around.
I needed a tow for my vehicle to come 2 hours away, back home and they were available, and kept me updated throughout the time waiting on the driver. The driver was very nice & worked fast. I’d 100% recommend this place!
Vern answered my call. Professional, courteous, very reasonably priced. He gave a courtesy call stating he was on his way. He stated 1 hour but the wait was much less. Will use again if needed.
my sisters car broke down on the side of the road and they came out to help ASAP, the gentleman who towed her car was wonderful. made a very stressful situation a whole lot easier to manage!
We blew a tire on GMC Terrain and I didn't have right jack. Dicks was closed and in came a driver w flatbed tow truck. He asked if we needed help. He changed tire out for me didn't want to take money I insisted very nice young man. I'd definitely use them for whatever when needed if I am in area.
Terrible Experience - Avoid at All Costs!
I had an awful experience with Dick's Towing in Joliet, IL. They only accept cash payments even though there's a sign on their door clearly stating they accept cards. Their prices are so outrageously high that no other towing service I've ever dealt with even comes close.
They towed my trailer from a reserved parking spot, which I had legally occupied with prior agreement from the truck stop. Before towing, they deliberately took photos in a way that hid the reserved parking markings so they could claim it was improperly parked. They stuck to this story no matter what evidence I presented.
On top of that, their service is completely inaccessible—you can’t approach anyone or get a straight answer. It’s obvious they’ve handled so many shady situations in the past that they’re avoiding any direct confrontation. Everyone there is extremely rude and unprofessional.
Stay as far away from this towing service as possible. Unethical, overpriced, and dishonest!
This towing company nowadays are killing the Americans, and this is one of them.
Unbelievable crazy expensive they are, 140$ daily charge for a standard van. Towed 520$. Call them Friday around 7pm, they where closed forced me to come back Monday and pick it up so they can rip of another 500$.
0 customer service, they have a gate at the office where you can speak through because they are afraid of talking with people face to face.
They tow 24/7 but to release the cars they don’t.
Cash only so they can cheat on taxes for sure, Shame .
When you get the call for help & in a situation for needing a flatbed tow ASAP, after calling companies that didn't even answer, Vern answered & was on his way! He's a nice guy that came & saved the day quickly & got us back home. Thank you!
straight plum evil cowards . save yourself the time and money. This place will be junked if i found Out they tampered with my property. Stay away from clowns like these who use “policies” to hide their wickedness
I just want to say thank you guys so much. When I was stuck in the time of need at 2am fern showed up in 30 mins and was amazing. Everyone other tow truck company quoted me double the price and 2 to 3 hour wait.
Wow, look how many reviews with 1 star... let me tell you about this place, my car was towed last night and when I pick it up was crashed. The older guy at the office said "I don't know anything here", "I'm not the manager, call him". He ignored my questions and said "I don't have time for you". Please don't hire this company!!!!
Just found out that this company is only towing complexes cars because they do not have clients. This is NOT OKAY, if your company has no clients... evaluate what you are doing wrong... ALOT!
By the way I'm forced to give them 1 star, it was NOT MY CHOICE!
A couple nights ago, I was one of the lucky 9 cars to end up on the side of I-80 headed eastbound. While attempting to change my tire and throw on the spare, Thaddeus pulled up next to me and offered to help, seeing I was having trouble. Within 10 minutes the flat was off, spare was on, and I was on my way. Great service, very thankful he stopped to help.
These people are trolls. If you park in a lot with their sign up just have money ready. They literally towed my car and then closed the office so I would have to pay storage. I have seen so many bad reviews and heard bad things about them over the years. I'm not even talking about the rude people that work there. If you have no customer service skills maybe don't work with the public. Zero stars would not recommend
the females that work there need an attitude check. worst customer service skills ever. they also have horrible communication skills because i was told i had a grace period for them not to tow my car for expired tags yet they still towed it and made me pay $200 to get my car even when this wasn’t my fault and i was told my car would be fine. horrible company and workers.
Thank you for being there. You picked up the phone at 5:22 am when open 24 hrs. Timely, friendly and professional service and not out to make a buck. You took my unique flat tire situation into consideration, followed me home and gave helpful advice at no charge. If you are lucky enough to get Big Bob as your driver, he is knowledgeable, friendly, understanding and doesn’t make you feel like “such a girl “ :)

They had a driver come help me with my car, his name was Bob. He was pretty decent. He answered all my questions and made everything pretty simple. Made me feel involved, like talking with me while he's doing his job,
Bug Bob was the best. Got there quickly and was very helpful. Im a below knee amputee and wear a prosthetic. It was hard for me to stand there and I had forgot my cane. He helped to the passenger side then up to the seat. Made sure I was good before he put my car on the truck. Thanks again Dick’s and Big Bob!
Big Bob was an amazing guy. He was very knowledgeable and very timely with his work. Took great care of my car and definitely went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable with how my car was being handled. I really appreciated the great service and will definitely be recommending to others!
My alternator gave up on me but Big Bob saved me from being stuck at the gas station. He was friendly and very understanding of the issue at hand. If you ever need a tow he is really reliable.
Big billy (Bobby) sorry I totally forgot his name ! But he was an absolute sweetheart. Was very friendly and definitely good at his job. A stressful day turned into it not being so bad after having a 45 minute conversation with this guy! Def give this man a raise
No more than 10 minutes after making the call Big Bob came through and efficiently took care of my car in a timely fashion. Very knowledgeable and accommodating as well. Call these guys first if you ever need a tow in Joliet!
Big Bob came fast to the rescue. We were stuck on the highway for 2 hours waiting for the insurance roadside. We called Big Bob and he was there in a few minutes. He waited with us until our driver got there to pick us up. Thank you for all your help!
My car was stolen and I didn't have the key so I needed a tow. Big Bob showed up quick and they gave me a good price from Plainfield to damn near the east side of Joliet. He was very helpful and so was the woman with him.
We had a great experience with Big Bob of Dick’s Towing Service in Joliet, Illinois. He came in just over 20 minutes and was friendly and very helpful. We got to our destination quickly and was a reasonable price, even for Thanksgiving night. In a situation like this we were already a bit stressed, but Big Bob’s friendly service helped alleviate the tension. This is the towing company I’m going to use in the future. Went to pick up my car. They started off nice. (Yes it was my fault the car was towed I parked in the wrong spot. No big deal). They tell me to go out and get the registration out of the car so a guy takes me out I have the keys go to open the car and see the glove box left open and center counsel open all of my paper work was just thrown on the seat of the car. So I find my registration go back inside ask did you open my car they said no must have been the cops. I looked at the lady and said no it was not the cop because the cop called me to tell me my car was being towed If I didn’t move it in the next few minutes which would be impossible cause I was 2 hrs away and had the only set of keys with me. (Yes the cop was a buddy of mine.) So I said one of your guys got into my car and destroyed it she says again we didn’t open it it was the cops. So I called my buddy the cop he said no we had no reason to open it I knew who’s car it was and I called you. Bottom line they are out to make a quick buck and get whatever they want out of your car.
