A perfect place to stop in if you are out on a motorcycle ride. The food, drinks and atmosphere is great. They have an outside bar and stage. Would be a great place to see a band! Make this a stop, it is worth the drive / ride.
Stopped in on a very hot day out riding motorcycles! It was very comfortable and clean! The food was good had a chicken salad. Will definitely be back to check out their activities! Stop in and see the gang at Catalpa Grove Tavern and make sure you read the menu pretty interesting how the place got started.
Easy parking, stairs plus a ramp. Good burger, fries & coleslaw...with a soda...$19.
Not a huge menu which is good but plenty of choices. No wait at 1pm on a Thursday.
Just picked up Wednesday night chicken and spaghetti. Some of the best you are going to find and not just in the area. Service isn't the fastest because they are very busy but it is in no way slow. You can quickly get a drink and food is about 15 minutes. Great place!
Great place. A little out of the way in Central Illinois but worth the trip. Imaginative sandwiches ( I recommend the "Hot for Teacher Burger") and the naked chicken wings were massive. Can't wait to go back.

Always a great time. A wonderful collection of characters getting along w no difficulty. Granny's, Bikers, Moms w kids, and the occasional well mannered dog. Worth the drive!
I have some family in this area, and this is always my go to place. The food is great, and the atmosphere is dripping with cool. Bikers are not only welcome, but I think they are encouraged to stop.
A great find! We came across Catalpa Grove while riding our motorcycle out of a campground near Starved Rock. We'd been to the area many times, but never ventured out this way and we're super glad we did. This is perfect bike stop with an outdoor bar and outdoor stage. Service was friendly, food was good, and the surrounding area was peaceful. We'll be back!
First time there. We went as a group on our motorcycles. We walked in and immediately was asked if we wanted to be seated inside or out. Our entire party hadn't shown up yet so we weren't sure. We were then asked if this was on 1 check or separate. We said separate but we didn't know how many people were ordering and who was going to get what so we weren't able to answer the question of how many separate checks. We were then asked what we wanted. Most people would read this and not see the problem. Fast service.. the problem was we hadn't been there long enough to make any decisions or even look at the menu. Half the group that was there were going to the bathroom while we were still waiting for people to show. There wasn't alot of people there, yet i felt very rushed and not welcome, even more so when we weren't able to answer the bartenders questions right away. Most of our party stayed inside, while others went outside. 3 of us ordered food. I personally got mozzarella sticks. I don't think they were cooked all the way. They weren't frozen still, but not hot either. I got the chicken bacon ranch grilled sandwich with fries. That dish was fantastic! Once we were done eating we all went to the outside bar where there were just as many people out there ( 6) as inside, not including us.. the bartender was a lot more laid back. All in all, it's not a bad place and most likely will come back.
VERY cool place. Eaten there a few times and food was very good every time. Fun place to hang out and meet some great people... And the steak was AWESOME!
First time!! Great motorcycle ride there. Bartender very nice. Outside seating, bar, band place. Didn't see inside. Highly recommend. 3 of us and all loved the food. Will be back.
Really nice indoor outdoor spaces sandwiches and sides yummy ...it s a space alone you almost stumble on but when ya have ya want to come back. Waitress are really nice or kind of rude... I waitress so like always some friendlier if think tips are gonna flow but def recommend!
Always worth it to come here! The food is outstanding! The ability to choose going inside to the bar or outside to enjoy the weather and music at certain times is awesome. We love coming here any day of the week and any time of the year!
The food was good flavor, but not hot enough in my opinion, temperature wise. Although I like my food piping hot. The service was great. They need to update the menu prices, even permanent marker over old prices is better then guessing on what the current price is. There is a sticker on the front that tells you prices may be different, but what's that mean? Out of 4 items only one was the price on the menu, other 3 were about 30% more. I'd prefer to know the price. But it is a nice place that fun when they have music playing.
The staff at Catalpa are amazing! They were nice, biker friendly (duh, right) and fun to be around! They were one of the stops on our ride the day we went and they were ready for anything. I personally did not eat but quite a few of our group did. I did not hear one complaint about the food! Everyone who ate something said it was delicious! Ibhave plans to ride back out to eat and pick up a purple tank top, if they have it in stock by then! I did not get out of there not spending money tho... I got an awesome men's mechanics shirt that I LOVE! The skull chair is beautiful and we took a pic on it. The atmosphere is so relaxed and easy going. I def recommend this place if you are out for a ride, are out that way and feeling some hunger pangs.. You will not be disappointed, the area is beautiful. Great outdoor seating for a group on picnic tables or you can go inside to eat and be just as comfy. Do be careful in the parking lot as it is gravel, but if you ride safe you'll be fine. If you don't, do not blame them you were advised. Most def a place to revisit and have fun at!
You can eat in, or they have plenty of seats outside. There is plenty of parking and clean place. Very nice atmosphere would recomend! I had the low rider burger and it was fantastic!
Sometimes the best places go unnoticed, and this is one! The ABSOLUTE BEST burger in the area, better than anything in Kewanee (where I am staying). It was WELL worth the drive! And I will drive here again vs ANY overpriced place in Kewanee any day!

Been here three or for times. It's about 70 or 80 mile ride through the country. We'll worth the ride. Great service and food. Plenty bike parking with very friendly folks. I Recommend it ? ?.
Sounds like a great place to get an "off the beaten path" bite to eat, but had no idea they only serve food Wednesday through Sunday. Wish their website reflected that. Bartender was very nice and apologetic. Definitely need to come back on a day they serve.
