If you're picking up oversized equipment Ritchie in Morris is fairly easy to deal with. If you don't make sure to buy the local oversize permit it will cost you Thousands of dollars. Just be careful.

Best all-around auction whether your purchasing for yourself or business. You can't be the price. if you choose to use them to sell your used equipment you will generally get the highest price as well in the auction. Wish I would have found them and use them years ago when I started would have saved so much time and frustration from other auctions. Unless something dramatically changes, they have a happy customer for life.

Terrible experience, one of the 7000-dollar items I purchased came with an electronic charger which they noted as working and left in the bucket of the mini skid steer which was outside and was sitting in a pool of water and of course did not work when brought home and a replacement unit costs over 1000 dollars-Also they make it seem like no big deal if you cannot pick up on time but then charge high rates per day if you don't. Bad practice-

I showed up for a pickup at 3 on a Wednesday without an appointment and was out of there in an hour. The guys were friendly and helpful.

I never bought anything from this place but unfortunately I already have a bid on of the trucks. I should’ve read the reviews before hopefully it won’t be a disaster

I bidded on a truck that had no deficiencies listed on the inspection report no warning lights on. I Drove 6 hours from Illinois. I get to the site in Ohio to pick up the truck and the truck has a check engine light on. They tell me it's probably the batteries. I asked could they check it and see. I was told we don't do that but you can bring a mechanic or pay one and have them check it out. I'm from Illinois I don't have a mechanic in Ohio. I let them know I'm a small business owner and I can't take that chance on you saying it's probably the batteries and I leave with the truck and now it's a $10, 000 dollar problem. If a check engine light was listed in the deficiencies I would of never bidded on this truck. So I didn't take the truck and they suspended my account. No accountability taken on their part they just wanted me to pay for the truck and take it with a check engine light on.

They get 2 stars because the people are nice. Be aware that there are no DOT inspections done here. More than likely, it is not road legal to pull off the lot.

WARNING: Ongoing pattern of misconduct involving post-sale damage, loan abuse, and wrongful re-auctions. We financed a $32,500 commercial Isuzu NPR from Ritchie Bros. Davenport — before we even took possession, their staff fried the truck’s electronics using the wrong voltage on a jump start, and then they sent it to a shady local mechanic (Kitto Sheds). Within 100 feet of pickup, it failed again. Now the mechanic is trying to re-auction the truck without our consent, and we’re still on the hook for the loan. We’ve filed formal complaints with no response and are pursuing civil theft and class action. We will be going thru Ritchie reviews for the entire country to contact others in order to do a Class Action Lawsuit!!! Buyer beware — this is not just bad luck, it’s systemic.

Ritchie bros should be ashamed of themselves for working with such despicable financial services. Don't borrow from them, you'll pay double what you should and will be shown no mercy or care. You are just another victim to them.

Justin Kopczick , yard manager, is extremely professional, easygoing, and helpful. He made the pick-up of the trailers smooth.

These people are as incompetent as it gets. With the exception of the ladies in the office, no one wants to help customers. I drove 5 hours from Detroit to view a repossessed truck owned by BMO. The batteries were dead. I went into the office to ask for a jump. I returned to the truck, gave it a 45-minute inspection before a guy in a maintenance truck showed up. I asked if he could jumpstart it and he replied with, "I won't but I can call for you." He did, but no one showed up. After informing the people in the office again that I really, REALLY needed to jumpstart that truck, they left me waiting. After over 2 hours, I never heard the truck start or got to move it or anything. They cost BMO a $50,000 sale by being a bunch of useless clowns. Deal with them at your own risk!!!

Morris Illinois If you are an owner or small company stay away from this auction unless you want to lose money. 3 days ago, this auction sold my truck for prices 2 times below the market. I want to refuse but they say you signed a contract. And from this amount they still take their percentage. Stay away.....

Consigned a piece of equipment to them and had it delivered to them on a Sunday morning. Auction site staff was very polite and helped me with everything. Place looks well organized and clean.

Be sure to make 110% sure your item is on the lot before you show up. Customer service booked my pickup at 11 am 8/4/20. When I arrive, after planning my day and driving 400miles to get here my item isn't here. Maybe it will show up today, maybe tomorrow. Horrible customer service. So make sure your item is here before you waste two days of your life like me.

My first time buying with them. I bought a Fecon Mulching head from the online auction. There was no mention of missing parts / it was not labeled parts or not working. When It arrived at my house and I started to inspect the machine, I removed the shielding to find the machine completely stripped of all major parts including the hydraulic pump which is 4,500 alone. The hoses had been left and bagged so oil would not leak and to make it appear all parts were there. IT was missing 9,200.00 worth of parts and had that been listed it would not have brought the money it did. When I contacted Scott Mcgregor he offered 500 to make it right..what a joke! Last purchase every and advise anyone to stay clear from this company. Clearly this company is o.k. with shady business practices. Completely dishonest! If I could give them a zero rating I would!!

I bought something and paid online with a credit card. I accidentally paid twice due to their website not confirming that you paid which means you can pay as many times as you want and it will never show as paid. After 2+ months going back and forth to get payment back after they promised me in person the day I picked up what I bought that a check would be mailed that day, they finally credited my credit card back but charged me 3%. I should have disputed the charge. I usually never complain but for a company that large they made it hard to do business with them.

It's 3 starts because the service is nice Friendly staff. However they seem to cheat on the weight. It said 3500lb when in reality it was over 12000 lb. Hope that it was an honest mistake. Because of this i had weight issues with the next load I was supposed to pick up. Not cool!

Stay away from Morris, IL location. Those people are fraudulent. They damage your equipment, never inform you about it or take any actions to repair, if the sell falls apart they never report it to you. No options to fight it back. If you try to protect your interests they ban you and sell your equipment for dirt cheap.

Professional public auction house is what I thought they are, rather what they used to be years ago. Recent commission fees for buyers are rip off for items up to $5000 which is $500 no less. Another example is their financing division, applied for $16,5k of something, loan? credit line? God knows what was it (I found that out at the end) Finance guy called me all excited telling me that I was approved and my payment is $600 a month for 36 months. I asked him about the fees and he responded to me: title and registration plus their docs fee. I told him, I want to hear numbers and where this $600 a month comes from, so finally that's what I hear: Excellent credit yield me a whopping 8% interest rate, with $350 title fee (title in Illinois costs $95) and than $995 their doc preparation fee puts me at roughly $18k. Upon calculation based on 8% at 36 months the total borrowed amount would have to be $19k with the payment of $595. Do you see where I'm going with this? There's $1k missing somewhere, that is why they talk to you: oh, your monthly payment is only $600. I declined right of the bet, that was total rip off. Don't get sucked in by their 120 days no payments, it is 120 days of interest only payments not no payments first of all, second of all after all the fees they charge your interest rate will be more like 15%-20%. As other reviewers noticed this new wave of greed is astonishing. For those who are interested, SELLER COMMISSION is 15% however it may be negotiable for some but not for most. I heard (mid 2018) there's new CEO in the house, I wonder how long it will take to bring the house down 🙄 with this approach.

Absolutely Fraudulent! I bought a dump truck recently on the Ritchie Bros simulcast. When I flew out to Morris IL. from Denver, CO. I found the truck very badly corroded and undrivable because all of the brake lines had dissolved. Absolutely no mention was made of this in the condition report. The truck is so badly corroded that the rocker panels and part of the floor under the cab are gone. A structural frame rail under the bed is completely rotted. None of this showed up in the photos. Unlike most Ritchie condition reports this truck had no photos of the underside. When I talked to the regional manager, he said that as an experienced Ritchie Buyer I should have known better, and that Ritchie never reports rust! This is pure naked fraud. Period. Absolute accuracy and honest are essential in a condition report for out of state simulcast buyers. Ritchie has been going steadily down hill for a few years now, and their declining volume, and closing auction sites is proof. Avoid buying on Ritchie Bros simulcast at all costs. If you attend a Ritchie auction in person, be very careful!!

Purchased a small lift from here at last auction. Drove up next morning to pickup purchase (having never been here before). The two guys at the truck gate entrance were beyond helpful to a first timer. I made my way into the registration office. Took only minutes to get me on my way with paperwork in hand. Waited a couple minutes for their operator to finish loading a truck with multiple skid steers. He then grabbed my purchase and placed it on my trailer. I then found out that they were short handed for this particular auction. I would have never known as my experience here was beyond excellent. Well done RB! I deffinately look forward to future purchases!
