They barely pay half of what Ben's Global offers for general scrap.
Surprised that they would not purchase microwaves, cast iron or steel individually so I made the mistake of scrapping everything for weight.
This yard is the worst ripoff in the Kane / McHenry County area.
Watch what you sell these people! They will rip you off and lie about it to your face. I'm used to going to Rockford and elgin. But this place was close and convenient for us this time. They ripped us off! Got half the cost for our aluminum, and I laughed when they called PC boards shred. Check pricing at other places before coming to this place. This place will cheat you!
Staff goes well out of their way to lie about pricing. They told our company pricing that did not match what Rockford pays them or us. Computer boards are not shred. Rockford paid us 1.13 a lb for boards after the girl in the office lied and said that Rockford charges them 2 cents a pound to take them. Hence they would take them for free. Since the original manager Wade left. This place has been nothing more then con artist. Double check pricing at other locations before believing pricing here. Also, weigh out anything before you come here. You will notice there scales are off.
Great facility, very nice and professional workers, best price for any facility that I have gone to. They go out of their way here to help and make you feel like your business is wanted and needed.
A clean yard is about all that can be said about this facility. But even that can be dodgy. After I went I called a few other scrap places and most were paying far more than Behr. In fact they were the lowest paying scrap yard in three counties. Don't waste your fuel for your time going to this facility.
Said they were open on Saturdays went to haul load in got here at 9:45am we’ll before they close at 12noon. Gate was closed. If they aren’t open they need to post it so people know! Now I wasted my fuel and time and on a rainy day to boot!
Very clean (for a scrap yard) with very skilled and safe crane operators to get you unloaded. Prices vary as the market does but they are very fair and will treat you with respect. Large yard makes for easy access for any size vehicle.
Would be really nice if they were actually open when they say they will be. We are only available to take things in on Saturdays and there was one Saturday that they stopped letting people in 45 minutes before they were supposed to close and today their hours are supposed to be 8-11:45 and when we went at 9:30 the gate was closed.
This is what a metal recycling place should be! It is clean, well organized, and very efficient. I bring my personal scrap metal in once or twice a year, and am always impressed with them. They are very honest about why some metals are worth more than others, and have been very helpful. I will always bring my scrap metal to them.
