First experience here was better than any I've had at buckman's. Cimco without a doubt pays better. Buckman's won't even give you a weight receipt and are very confrontational when asked for one. If your in the area, just drive to Cimco.
Checked the hours online. Says 4:00 on Google. Drive 40 miles to get there. Got the Scale at 3:32 and the guy walks out and says they stop collecting at 3:30 NOW THAT'S TODAY'S CUSTOMER SERVICE !!! He was kind enough to let me know I could travel another 80 mile tomorrow at 8 in the morning. I am positive they don't understand just how bad they put a hurting on me. Might as well go to Whitaker's of Buckmans. THANKS FOR NOTHING!
This place is the worst to do Business with took clean rims in and they tried to give me dirty because there was stainless steel on supposedly on it there thieves I wouldn’t ever trust them to take your business to!!
Happy my town has recycling I wish they had even just one later day it's very hard to get there before work closes (they close at 4 weekdays and noon on saturday)
Truckers : they are Quick but heavy load .they have two offices one by the scale and one all the way around on the other side of the building .go to this last one if picking up plastic and make sure you get there before 1430 before the fork guys leave .and To have an OBD number or BOL number .
Cimco in Ottawa il, used to be the best scrap yard around kind workers and decently priced, but over the past few years steadily growing worse almost to the parr of Buckman iron (which I'd incredibly bad), every time I go there say I bring 25lbs of cans I get paid for 21lbs or 30lbs copper get paid for 25lbs, well today was the final straw I brought 16lbs of copper weighed 16lbs on their digital scale and got paid for 14lbs on my receipt, so I called cimco and talked to the lady she said it was an honest mistake and I could drive the 20 mile round trip for the 2 lbs if I want I told her I don't care about the $3 of copper and asked how it's an honest mistake when it happens every single time I go there, she then screamed "well then don't come back" and hung up. What they are doing IS illegal, I have state cert. Scales at my work and the same guy certifies their scales, I've already asked him and he told me it is illegal but hard for them to catch in the act. I will be turning them in and advise anyone with the same experiences at ottawa cimco to turn them in also. It's a matter of principal, I don't like thieves and I especially loath thieves that hide behind a chain of command/business that'll rip people of over a petty couple dollars when they make 100s of thousands in profit from those people who worked for hours straight all night to strip a little bit of wires that they've saved for a year (strip by hand with a knife) just so they could have a couple bucks extra in a failing economy, I feel that's extremely wrong on their part, @cimco, I could have been a single father or mother needing to feed my kids because of lost job or just hard times and you would have taken that few dollars from a possibly starving person. (Just something to think about, maybe weigh in your own conscious, how many children or down and out people have you ripped off by not so honest mistakes?)
