Just stopped in on a long road trip from South Dakota to Cincinnati. Our check engine light came on after recently getting a new engine, so we pulled into Bolin’s to have it checked out. Even though the owner was swamped, he still took the time to look at it right away, put us first in line, and made sure everything was safe before sending us back on the road. We were in and out in under 10 minutes. Excellent service — thank you so much!
Great shop, very knowledgeable and very fair prices. They have fixed multiple cars for our family and always do a great job. It’s nice to find a shop you can trust.
If you are in northern IL and need help these are the folks to call! They rescued my child’s car literally in the middle of nowhere while he was on a road trip, and made sure he was safe. The worst people I ever talk to call for a breakdowns service. The lady who answered was really mean and was talking to me like I did something to her. I was talking to her first time they need some anger issue management.
We were an hour+ from home, got a flat on our camper on I74 (Sunday evening). We didn't have the right-sized tools to change it. Bolin's came out super fast and had it fixed in no time! Great service from the owner on the phone, and the driver who came to help us! Thank you!
I called a few days ago to see if they offered towing services in Monmouth, and the person who answered abruptly said they wouldn't go to Monmouth in the rudest way possible. There's a thousand ways to be nicer. I don't recommend them.
My truck broke down while traveling. Mike checked out my truck and said I lost an injector. Gave me warning of maybe being able to save the injector and replace what actually broke, or replacement cost. It took till the next day to gets parts needed. Mike had me on the road by noon the next day. He said the injector looked to be original and he replaced it instead of trying to save it. The absolute right choice. I'm glad I chose to go there. Rates are excellent too. Thank you guys.
Excellent hospitality. I was traveling from Indiana to Minnesota when my truck that was pulling my 5th wheel broke down. Mike was so awesome. He let me drop my camper while he looked at my truck. He had to order parts, so I camped out there overnight.
Needed towed after big snow & slid into huge drift. Called every tow service in burg to find maybe tomorrow, or not taking anymore today! Their dispatcher knew I was stranded, & had kids getting off the bus home alone...she had trucker there in 20 minutes & out of a tight spot in less than 10!!! ???
Car wouldn't start, having electrical issues. They towed it for me at a VERY reasonable price and had it fixed days before the estimated time. Could have up charged me without me knowing but didn't. Fixed my issue at well below a price I was expecting. Very courteous and helpful. Only place I'll use in the future
They came to help get our Buick Enclave started in our driveway in less than 30 mins. Couldn't get it started so put it on their flatbed and took it to their shop. Called the next day and said the battery was junk so they got a new replacement one for us. Very quick service and friendly. We recommend them and will use them again when and if we should need their service again.
I was driving our Aunt to Peoria, on I-74, when our engine blew. Called Bolin's and Tony responded. He picked us up and also assisted, with my Aunt, getting her into the Cab of the Tow Truck. Very positive & helpful individual. On a very bad day, that is much appreciated. Thank you! ?
We broke down outside of Galesburg on July 1st and had called our insurance company assistance never heard back. Aa women in a truck recommended Bolin's. They came within 30 minutes and provided great service. We highly recommend them.

Terrible customer service. Have had a vehicle there 3 times for the same reason and still having the same issues. Will not recommend them to anyone again. I was told they couldn't duplicate the issue and the scanner showed no history which is not possible.
He thinks that it is funny (actually giggling) that a very short time after the repair it started acting up again.
His comments were "well it must be the other wheel, you know that you do have four wheels", rather than looking into whether the part may be bad before that statement.
Do you trust a mechanic that laughs about a mechanical problem, then blames it on something else,

I called AAA when I was locked out of my car. They sent Bolin's Towing. AAA told me it would be approximately 40 minutes, he arrived in 20 minutes. He was kind, patient and considerate. He was professional yet friendly. He apologized for my situation and had me in my car and on the road in record time.

Good place to take vehicles for repairs and know they won't manufacture problems. Instead they are honest, knowledgable, and reliable. Towing at any hour of the day. You have to call ahead for appointments for repairs. They will usually get you in and out the same day of your appointment. They stand by their work as well.
I make an appointment one and one half weeks ago for a Friday morning at 8:00 am. Drop the car off Late Thursday afternoon. Call at 2:15 pm to see if the work is done. Said that they are pulling in the car now. Went to pick up the car at 4:50 pm and the car was parked outside, so I thought that it was done. Person inside stated that they didn’t have a chance to look at the car. They knew what the problem was a couple of months ago. They look at the car on Saturday. I was leaving town. Couldn’t chance them giving me the runaround for another day.
Beware they are thieves. Called AAA to change a flat tire. They changed the tire fine, but took the key to affix to spare tire to my truck. When I called to ask about returning the key, they stated that they put it in my truck somewhere and cannot recall exactly where they put it. After I called AAA to lodge a complaint against them for the missing part, they stated that they gave the key to me and I must have lost it, which is a lie. Do not to business with them, they will steal from you.
Mike, Dan and the crew have always provided quality service and customer care. Whether it's towing or repairs, they are the only shop I use or recommend.
Left my Subaru to fix an exhaust problem and it worked okay for about two weeks, then the problem happened again after l just paid them about 200 dollars. Called them back and they said they would work on my car next week, well next week arrived and l was not notified of the progress. So l drove by the shop with my wife and we noticed it had not been moved after several days. Stopped by the shop and this repair guy gave me an attitude and said l would have to pay an additional 100 dollars to fix the exhaust. l already payed them money the first time, so they should fix it for free. Con Artists. l said ok I'll bring my car back to the shop. Guess what, l never brought my car back.
These people are theives. I got in to car accident while on my way home from Indiana to Iowa when someone on the othside of highway, lost control and hit me head on going 60mph.i was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries and no option to collect my belongings. My truck was then towed by these people to their con shop and when my dad went up there to collect my Nintendo switch, s7active cell phone, laptop, ray ban sunglasses, clothes etc, they wanted us to pay them $500 to get anything out of my truck but one or more of the people that work there had took everything out of it that had value, they told me none of my stuff was in there when they got it. They let us look inside the truck and the case for the switch was there but no switch or games. Same with my ray band sunglasses, the case was there but no glasses.. all together laptop. Clothes, vaporizer, sound system (amp, speakers etc.. they stole about $3000 in property from me plus the truck is totaled and they still wanted me to pay them $500 to get it back.. never do business with these people unles you just want have your valuable possessions stolen.
Had a great experience traveling through on the way to other places. Advice was offered over the phone, and a tow arrived from the same shop within 10 minutes of the call. Didn't need a tow; the advice worked out! $25 service fee and we were back on the road. Made it all the way home thankful that Bolin's was available to help!
They charged me $50 to tow the car less than a quarter-mile, and after they had taken my cash they asked for another 10 to get my key back. I had to call and speak to the manager who then hung up on me after agreeing to waive the $10.
Never even got service! I hate to leave a bad review, but my experience was so unbelievable. Called on a Friday morning to see if I could drop my truck off for repairs after hours that night or Saturday morning for a bad oil leak. Gentleman on the phone said ok but they would not be able to get to it until early next week. I said that would be fine and I was not in a hurry at all because I have another car. He called back 1/2 hour later and unapologetically said they did not want to work on it--they had too many other things to do. Did not even offer me the option of waiting for them to have an opening or rescheduling. I asked him if he could recommend another shop and he said no. Thanks so much for the help! Am I not good enough to be your customer? I'm not going to beg them to take my money. I will take my truck and other family vehicles elsewhere. Really glad my truck did not end up there if this is their idea of customer service.
