This morning, I visited a local scrap yard to drop off metal parts from my Ford Escape. Upon arrival, a worker attempted to dismiss me—suggesting I discard the parts in a dumpster without compensation. As a deaf individual, I found this approach not only disrespectful but potentially discriminatory. I declined and informed him I would take my business elsewhere.
If you or someone you know experiences similar treatment, I strongly recommend speaking directly with the office manager to ensure fair and ethical service.
Love this place, I do a good amount of different types of scrap. Drive in and either go to the back of the building or scale and unload then rescale. Easy as can be, nice and friendly staff
Wow prices are not competitive. Everyone was nice and the process was simple but the places 10 miles away pay 4-5 times as much for the same exact materials. I feel like I just got robbed. A decade ago this was the best paying place around so I figured since I was in the area and had some scrap with me I'd drop it off here. Last time I ever make that mistake! I can't get back what I just lost but hopefully I can save someone else from losing out.
Very dangerous place to sell your scrap metal the Machine guy it’s driving the crusher while dropping off metal it’s not worth get hit by the machine for $20 dollars go somewhere safely not come back to this place anymore place.

Wow I received a call to bring scrap. This is my first and last time. Zero organization today. Not sure how it is on other days. We pulled in with our truck and after waiting for direction that no one gave, we pulled up to the scale. We waiting at least 5 min and nothing. We honked and didnt receive attention. Since its our first time we assumed we were weighed in. Continued to empty out the truck. We followed a line to drop off aluminum and other metals. Horrible customer service. I didnt even leave my copper. Im going else where
This place is extremely organized and has a great system down. Literally every person that works there is helpful. I can’t complain about their payout either. I highly recommend this place!
Sold them my OEM catalytic converter off of my car and they gave me $30 once I went home I did a little research and found out they ripped me off. They did not weigh it or even inspect it. He just took a quick glance at it and gave me the same price as an aftermarket catalytic converter, and I’ll find out after I left most catalytic converter’s that are OEM have a scrap price over $100
I have been to S&S 3 times. Twice I have been ripped off. First time, I unloaded my truck and went to the office where the guy said that he accidentally gave the money from my load to a guy in a van. He offered me $20. As if he couldn't tell the difference between a white pickup and a white van. The second time went okay. The last time, I brought in a stainless steel commercial double oven that weighed 760 pounds. I only got $45 and change. They decided that a stainless steel oven was only made of steel sheet metal. I will go to a different scrapyard next time. You should, too.
Pulled in. Office was locked at 10 am. Nobody around to help. Was blocked in by trucks that the drivers had left to try and find someone. After 18 minutes I left with my pickup still full of scrap brass. Good luck.
I had old frying pans that I didn't want disposed of in a landfill. So, I brought them to S&S. It was my first visit and everyone was very polite and helpful - including the gentleman who answered the phone. So happy I found S&S online!
Costamer service was very bad. Every time I pulled onto the scale I waited for what seemed like 5 min for the girl behind the counter to finally acknowledge me and tell me to move forward. Same for when I went to the office. I knocked on the glass, made I contact with her, and she just turned back to the person she was talking to. Other scrap yards I have been to I would have been out of there in mabye 10 min at most. I was waiting at this place for at least 45.
Be careful with these guys. Today they cheated me out of 36 pounds of yellow brass and tried to pay me for iron instead of stainless. They'll throw out numbers to each other in such a hurry that you'll have a hard time keeping up. Then they'll throw the metal into there bins right away so you'll have no course to check after you get your receipt. Shady outfit.
I been a scrap metal guy for almost a year and since day one I try this place and defintly is the Best place top better pay and Best service is not worth try to waste my time to go other places to compare prizes

I love recycling oh my metal here. I cleaned out my garage last week and brought everything we could find that was recyclable. S & S has great service!
My whole family scraps with them. From cans to copper great prices. The yard can get a little congested at times but when your getting money for your basicly garbage sometimes you have to be patient the guys are helpful in unloading my truck with care to not damage it or scratch it. They have always treated me well. Will be going back soon
I called them to see if they could provide a flat bed & a 50 yard roll off container for a small demo job I was doing in the area. I scheduled BOTH the flat bed & the roll off long before the job began.The buyer David gave me a price of $300 to provide BOTH pieces of equipment needed to haul away the material. They did a good job providing a roll off container & a flat bed. But thats where the customer service ended. David tried to low ball me on over $2000 worth of nonferrous. I got a better price across the scale than what he quoted me. The worst part is, they took a month to pay me for the sheet iron & then when they did pay they DOUBLED THE HAUL CHARGE. I very untrustworthy scrap yard. I WILL NOT USE THEM IN THE FUTURE!
Been coming here for several years and never had a problem. Like any place, once you know the routine, it's easy. Even when I was new at scrapping, the guys were quite patient and helpful, even with some of the odd stuff I bring them (where else would I dispose of a roll of lead??). Keep up the great work!

Just moved to the area not to long ago. I have been recycling for a long time and never had issues finding places to take cans to be recycled. But my drive here was about a hour and you guys were closed! Really upsetting when I have to work all week and your closed when I'm off work!
