Amazing experience, they fixed a no start issue on my truck when no other shops wanted to even look at it/diagnose the problem. 10/10 company, will be going with them again.
Wants to charge $150 dollars to find out whats wrong when the problem is already known. Just another shop trying take more money. Im not going to pay them to tell me what i already know whats wrong. Next time just offer to fix the part that needs repair instead of squeezing another $150 dollars.Plenty of other shops on that street willing to just fix the problem without having to do a full diagnostic check which I didn't want since I knew what part needed to be fixed already makes no sense sorry...
Amazing experience at Stephen’s Automotive in Palatine with Cris and Eric. The car was towed there after hours and they handled everything smoothly, followed up with us, and kept us informed. I needed a new auto shop, and I am so glad we went to Stephens! We were with our previous shop for 30 years, and it was our neighbor's shop, which meant we had high standards of service. Stephens has exceeded our expectations! We had small and large car issues with both of our cars this summer and the service was beyond professional. The owner, Joe Stephens, and his staff, Chris, make it their personal responsibility to ensure your car is fixed and safe to leave with. The big issue was our transmission. Stephens sent our JEEP to a 40-year referral of theirs that specializes in transmissions. Joe and his Team oversaw the work the entire time as it took a long time due to getting correct parts and a valve being back ordered. Joe gave me and my car very personal attention. He also repaired a new dent and detailed my car because of the extra issues and time it took for our trans. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND Stephen's Automotive. Kris

Stephen’s Automative was incredible! I had to bring my car in last minute with a tight turnaround for when I needed it back. They fixed my original issues and identified some other parts of my car that needed updating. Chris was extremely helpful in keeping me updated while my car was in the shop and explained in detail, while also showing me on the car, what was fixed. Hoping for no more car troubles in the future, but if needed I’m for sure going back to Stephen’s Auto.

Really professional and friendly group. They are great to work with. I’ve brought my cars in several times and they did a great job. My Buick was deemed irreparable by a local Buick dealership and Stephens repaired it for way less than I expected. It’s my favorite car and they made it perfect again.

I just had a wonderful experience at Stephen automotive in Palatine. I own a handicap vehicle for my son in which I transport him in. I looked at many places to try to get some repairs done on the vehicle and it was very difficult to find someone my son reached out on Facebook and someone recommended Steve automotive here in Palatine and I gotta tell you was the best thing that could ever happen. They took care of our vehicle fixed what needed to be repaired but not only that they were very professional they were very knowledgeable. The owner Joe is absolutely wonderful And a young man by the name of Chris really put this mom‘s fears to ease. I highly recommend them. They’re in Palatine and they’re called Stefan automotive and such a short time they became family because of all the wonderful things that they told me and how they answered all my questions and their kindness and professionalism. Stephens, and Chris really helped me out in a bind and very quickly. My daughters KIA had gotten broken into - an attempted car theft in Chicago - and in 2 days these guys fixed everything. Glass replaced, parts ordered and put back together like nothing ever happened. It's a beautiful thing. Plus they fit in an oil change on top of it. Thank you Stephens! The work you did was awesome!
Chris was so great and informative about my car. Went in for a tire repair but he noticed my shock absorbers were leaking (and I had just been to the dealership for a major tuneup). Got them replaced and what a noticeable difference in my drive. I highly recommend them for their expertise, honesty, and fair prices.

Stephens is hands down the best automotive repair facility in and around the Palatine area. We’ve been taking our vehicles there for years from little minor repairs to some pretty big jobs. Chris, the Service Advisor, is always prompt, courteous, and straightforward when it comes to communication about what our vehicle needs. There’s never any BS or hidden fees! The owner is also very involved with his customers to make certain every customer is satisfied and happy with their experience! To us, that says A LOT! I've searched many years for a auto repair shop that didn't disappoint in some way or another. A shop that was fair in pricing , knew their craft and communicated what needed to be done and what could wait. A shop that welcomed you and the business you were bringing in and didn't treat you like just another number in line. After doing my homework by reading others reviews and hoping for the best I brought my Jeep Cherokee into Stephens Automotive and man they didn't disappoint and went beyond any expectations. Starting with my initial phone call with Chris, showed me the importance they placed on earning my business. Chris didn't want me to waste my time and didn't want to inconvenience me when they told me to wait couple days before I brought my Jeep in so they can repair it that day instead of it sitting on their lot for a few days until they can work on it. They called me to inform me of the repairs needed and told me the cost which was fair ,competitive and which stayed as quoted and didn't change for any reason . They also told me what to watch out for but didn't need repairing right away. I truly appreciate that honesty. Quality work and treated well at a fair cost. I believe I found my repair shop. Always feel a sense of relief when hearing of others complain about their experiences from other repair shops. Never crossed my mind to find a service shop closer to my home. Highly recommend
I've taken my car to Stephens a few times now, and I probably won't go anywhere else as long as I'm in the area. They've been more honest with me than other repair shops, and after I recently had several repairs done by them over a couple of sessions, they patched my noisy exhaust at no extra cost. They're fair, and they do good work, quickly.
I’ve had 3 separate experiences at Stephen’s, all positive. First two were expected routine maintenance. The most recent was a near dead battery. Chris was able to have my car looked at within 30 seconds (I was coincidentally driving by) to confirm the issue and check if they had the battery. Great local shop.

First off I called a few months back about having them look at it and I believe it was Chris who I spoke to and I had a real sense of honesty on the phone… fast forward months later….. I Brought my truck to Stephens Automotive and talked with Chris about issue I was having since it was my first time coming here. And off the bat I felt like my truck was in good hands he told me the issue and looked over the whole truck found other issues that weren’t mentioned even at the dealer didn’t notice.. so long story short Chris and his team were awesome I got my truck back as promised and Chris communicated with me about the status on my truck. A good place to take your vehicle for repair. From automobiles to vans and buses, they repair. Friendly service and reasonable. They look like a small place, but they’re not small by any means. Joe and the crew are very friendly and accomodating. They offer consistently good service with very good pricing on a wide variety of foreign and domestic vehicles. The shop has free Wi-Fi and has some comfortable workspace for those circumstances that involve waiting such as a simple oil change.
