I wish I could rate this lower than a 1 star review. I woke up to my car missing from my parking spot, they towed my car from my place of living overnight, with absolutely no warning. I understand my parking pass expired as of January 1st but it is a weekend and we are not able to obtain a new pass until Monday at the earliest from our realtor office an hour away. When I called in, they were completely rude and basically said we are SOL and have to cough up 250 to get my car back within the same day or I will be charged more everyday it’s there. We have 2 parking spaces /passes and they explained that even with obtaining my car today, until the physical pass is hanging in both our vehicles, they can and will tow our vehicles again and again. INSANITY. They do not care about anyone, their situation, nothing, just getting more and more of your money. I beg you. AVOID this place at all costs. I hope to never encounter them again. Any positive reviews, are not real customers LOL
My car was stuck in a parking garage with low clearance height. I spent a day trying to find a towing company that had a lift and dolly truck that could retrieve the vehicle. One company came and then left saying they couldn’t fit. Another company failed to show up at all. Suburban dispatch was the most professional and polite out of the lot and did what they said. I was truly impressed by the driver who came out. He had a great attitude and said that he enjoyed solving problems. Made it out of the garage past some tight corners with no drama. At the destination, the driver had to back in to get the car facing the right way. He backed up about 100 yards with the car in tow including maneuvering around a tight S curve. Was able to get the car all the way into my garage without pushing. Very impressive. The best towing experience I’ve had. Would definitely use again.
I got in an accident and my car was towed here on a Saturday. Upon them towing my vehicle I asked what did I need to bring in order to get my things from the car . The tow truck driver said the paper he gave me and my id .. pretty simple, so Monday morning I went to get my items and lord behold.. the b word working in the office was very very snotty and refused to give me access to my car because it’s registered in my fiance’s name. My name is on the towing paperwork from the company and they towed the car from my possession. She was very rude.. very disrespectful and the information I had received said I was allowed to get my items . Had I known that I would go through all that trouble I would have waited for aaa to tow my vehicle! If you don’t have to DO NOT USE THEM! The woman who wants to be a man in the office will really upset you.. like she doesn’t get paid for the services! My fiancé drives over the road and due to their hours I still have not been able to retrieve my items and had I known it would be such a hassle I would have took everything from the vehicle. Not to mention I was injured in the accident and could hardly walk when I went to their office. I will not recommend
So here’s the deal and I’ve noticed that it’s been over five years since the owner last commented on anybody’s comments I get it that sometimes things can get busy and hectic, but I’m hoping the owner will reach out to me after this so my mother-in-law car had to get towed /Impounded she did not know that it was happening. The officer did not address it till after she was taken to the station, they did not give her a chance to grab her personal belongings such as her credit cards, her stuff for work. The Police had told her that as long as she paid the $600 that she should be able to at least get her personal belongings out because of that situation. The tow truck company is refusing to let my mother-in-law get her stuff out of the car. She does not do Apple Pay. She does not have her ID because that is also in the car so she can’t go to the bank to get the money they would not let her grab any of that and not only that my mother-in-law‘s having hardship problems as a lot of of us are in the past I have provided this company and recommended this company to several people. I find it unfair and unjust. I will say the owner did try to make a deal with her saying that if she just paid for at least the tow that she can get the car back unfortunately she does not have the money right now and she needed her stuff so that way she could work so that way she can come up with the money for it. This is where we’re at a standstill, not only that I know that a towing company and police station have contractual agreement when an impound is made the front desk person at the village Hall/police station had called over to. This company and the officers told my mother-in-law since she paid the $600. It cost her for the impound which was the last of her money that she had at least be able to grab her stuff so that way she’d be able to work on getting the rest of the money to get her car out but because of the tow truck companies and Wooddale Police Department failure to actually give justified and proper documents she now has to suffer and yes, I do get the fact that she was at fault for driving on a suspended license and whatever else that might have occurred, as that’s most likely what the argument we made here with the towing company this isn’t my first rodeo as I said I’ve helped numerous people get their car towed to this company because this company used to be great but over the years it has declined, not only to mention that also the lady at the desk the one that was keeping in contact with the owner to try to help us out she was nice up to a point until she tried to tell my mother-in-law her car got towed because of a DUI that is very incorrect and not true. It was impounded due to something else entirely. My mother-in-law did not know it was being impounded and like I said before until she arrived at the police station, the officer told her that they had already spoke with somebody and that they were willing to let her grab her important stuff so that way she didn’t lose her job and now because of this issue and this whole it’s at the owners discretion or tow truck companies discretion thing going on within the supposed paperwork that was given to her what was not given to her. The only thing that she had received was documentation from the Wooddale Police that her car was towed and where it was towed to she did not get any other information until I went in with her to talk to the lady at the desk to get/retrieve my mother-in-law of belongings, which we were told that we had to pay the 250 to do so again this is not right and because the tow truck company failed to give my mother-in-law any paperwork that is not right or just either especially since we had come in there the front desk lady could’ve gave us a copy of the paperwork we shouldn’t have had to ask the lady could have said or asked us if we wanted a copy of the paperwork so I’m hoping that this company can reach out and make this right and that I can continue referring my family to this location when they are in need of help.
I was stuck on the highway for more than 3hrs. The gentlemen that came removed a piece on my gear shift and broke it. This company is telling me they are not liable because it wasn’t towed. That makes no sense he touched my car and broke something and now you’re not responsible because it wasn’t towed. That piece should have never been removed. This company is crap they can mess up your car and accommodate you.
Got very good service from a young lady there her name was Cassandra thank you so much for helping this was my first time going through this and she was very helpful and patient
Driver was nice and professional. Towed bobtail truck for 17 miles, paid over 1000$ I think is too much. I gave them my email for receipt, never got it.

Customer service (very new and not very good, said the driver) and management were very rude. Driver lied to client about service and fee. When the driver (Lucas) was called to confirm what he said, he denied ever saying it. Lucas also left his oversized pocket knife in my car and client was nice enough to call and return it, knowing client was going to be taking care of. I will never use this company again and will never recommended them.
I've waited 3 hours for the towing truck to come from time I've called, the dispatch lady was lying she didn't recognize the adress l-290 westbound just pass the 5th Ave underpass, she asked for the mile marker, from state Police 19 and half and when I called back in 45 minutes, to update the adress when police moved us of the highway just 2 blocks, they should be near by then.. She got the new adress, and I've waited another 2 hours. 3 hours total, although they are only 23 minutes away. I recommend you guys call Ohare towing that came for the other party, which got there 2 hours before Suburban finally showed up. What a terrible service.
Needed my tractor trailer towed back in after a transmission issue. After calling around Suburban by far gave me the best rate, and even showed up in under an hour! Handled my truck with the utmost care. Absolutely professional service!
AVOID. I normally dont post reviews but this place overcharges on everything! $75 winching fee? $60 per day for storage and charging for a day they are closed? 4 mile tow for 250$? Find better places....
Great customer service and really nice people. I called this morning to have our car towed to a local shop. Rob was friendly and informative, truck was here in an hour, Sal was professional and courteous. Definitely recommend Suburban Towing & Recovery.
Had to move a large truck body and place it in a tight spot. Ryan Raimondi at Suburban towing did an EXCELLENT JOB! Would highly recommend them to move anything difficult. Took the extra care and time to work slow and think it through, not just stop and say no it can't be done. All of this in the rain and cold. Thanks again Ryan and Suburban towing!!
Would rather leave my car abandoned on the side of the road then deal with them again. I was in a car accident in which suburban towing came and towed my car. When I went to the tow yard to retrieve my belongings, in crutches and a broken foot and back mind you, I found that my iPhone was missing from the vehicle. I had tracked it the night before and it clearly told me my phone was at this location. I tore up the inside of the car looking for the phone through broken glass and broken pieces of car and was unable to find it. When I asked about this at the front desk I was told it was most likely at the scene of the accident when I have screenshots of my phone being on their premises. They’re a bunch of thieves I hope karma gets them back.
Update: I most definitely have the correct suburban towing and recovery as I went into the establishment personally please stop trying to invalidate reviews by claiming it’s the “incorrect” business
On 8/9/23 we've called Suburban to send the rotator for the trailer lift up, due to the trailer slipped off from the fifth wheel. It was brand new Cascadia and less then one year old Great Dane 53 footer loaded van. The Trailer partially was on the truck's frame, so we just need to lift it up and pull the landing gears down to squeeze the truck under the trailer. The Rotator arrived pretty quickly (it was close by in Elk Grove). The operator placed the strap under the trailer by the landing gear area. I asked him to move the strap forward over to the king pin area to PREVENT the bottom rail damage but he refused to do so and he said he will install the edges protection. For aluminum bottom rail protection operator used RUBBER MUDFLAPS AND TWO PIECES OF WOOD... HE DID TWO RUBBER MUDFLAPS AND TWO PIECES OF WOOD TO PROTECT THE ALUMINUM RAIL OF LOADED TRAILER FROM THE DAMAGE. Then he adjusted knuckle boom and hit the roof on the trailer. After about an hour of adjusting and hundred attempts to place the wood pieces between the trailer bottom rail and the strap he lifted it up. And then happened exactly what I told him on the beginning... the wood pieces squeezed off the strap and damaged a bottom rail and because of aluminum rail smashed it cut the strap and the LODAED TRAILER FELL DOWN. Thanks God I've moved the truck from under the trailer. Right after it happened the operator said I need to talk to the office or to the owner of Suburban and they will take care of the damage expenses. (Operator's name was James) However they charged us for the ,,Service " at the moment with no adjustments. I've called the office multiple times, dispatch lady says she can not help with this issue, she can not provide any information on this damage expenses and the owner is unavailable... Sounds like the best customer service, right? Now, what we got here: It was few months old trailer with no damage and after Suburban "worked" on it we got ROOF DAMAGE, PASSENGER SIDE BOTTOM RAIL SMASHED, DRIVER'S SIDE BOTTOM RAIL CRACKED, ALSO QUESTION MARK FOR THE FLOOR CONDITION due to loaded trailer fell down. THEY CHARGED US FULL AMOUNT IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE SERVICE CALL. And we do not know if owner of Suburban knows about the incident or not. This review probably the only way to bring it to his attention and to the attention of all future customers of Suburban as well. Business relations for us meaning honesty, reputation and responsibility ... but unfortunately for somebody else it is just about to get a few hundred of dollars ASAP. Thank You.
I've used them before and their service is fabulous; from the office (Colleen) to the drivers. They were at our place in less than an hour and got my SUV out of my 2nd floor parking space down a ramp without the truck! Impressive!! We had other companies tell us no. Thanks again Suburban Towing!
Drivers are wreckless and arrogant . Management refuses to address safety issues and personnel issues nor address complaints, instead would rather deflect and project the issues onto the customer. Their drivers need a lot more training on safe driving practices. If they were in my fleet. I would fire them.
This place is outstanding! The dispatcher was kind and efficient. Matt and Daniel took extra care for our show car hellcat and made sure to handle it delicately. Hands down the best service I've experienced in a long time!
Was quoted fair price and when Mark Newman arrived at scene promptly the quote didn’t change and communication was clear and nothing was hidden. Mark showed care for my vehicle and they had no problem towing my lowered car. I told dispatch it was lowered and Mark came prepared. Would not hesitate to use them for towing again.
Our van which is used for our business died and was block a loading dock. We called AAA but they never showed up. I worked with Larry who went out of his was to make sure it was removed promptly and towed to the dealer. I would highly recommend and thank them for their assistance.
These guys were great, beginning with Stacy who answered the phone. She must have dispatched someone immediately because Suburban Towing was there in 15-20 minutes. I had a flat on my work truck and still had other jobs scheduled. When my spare tire release broke, this guy literally crawled under the truck, cut the spare loose and changed the tire. WAY above and beyond! I thought the price was VERY reasonable. I'm keeping their number!
Everything we smooth with the start of the process of towing my bus. My friend that had the money wasn't there to pay them at the pickup location. I had told the driver that they will get paid on drop off location cause my friend wasn't there yet. However I was on the phone when they called me. They said they contacted that shop that was going to be at the drop off location and said that they were going to give them a check which I had no idea about any of that. I had someone that was going to meet them there with cash. They had left my lot within 7 minutes of a missed phone call.
They would have possession of my bus and thought wasn't going to pay or something no idea how they thought like that. Any tow company has the right not to drop the vehicle until they are paid.
At the end off the day I think it was more of the fact that they had an emergency call that was going to make them more money and 350$ for 2 hours wasn't enough.
The fact is 7 Minutes if money was such a big deal on pickup the company you at least speak to the person that SET UP THE WHOLE TOW not someone that I had no idea who it was that the office spoke to.
Another thing is 2 years ago as well no idea what had happened I also had a chevy that I was driving everyday all of a sudden they get a police tow with my vehicle I go to pick up my car and my engine is all of a sudden knocking.
We called several roadside service companies and this was the only company that picked up the phone at 6 pm on a Friday evening. All other calls went to voicemail. Woman said they would have someone out quickly.
(My husband could not get a lug nuts off to replace with spare). Mike arrived quickly and took care of everything with the tire change. Thumbs up to Mike! And Suburban! Start to finish one hour.
My car broke down. I was recommended by my mechanic to use these guys.the dispatcher was very polite over the phone. (I think her name was Carry) She quoted a very fair price. I was also told that it would take anywhere from 60-90 mins for the tow. I received a call 20 mins later saying he would be there in about 15 mins. When the tow truck driver showed up he was very professional. He was able to get my car out of a pretty difficult spot. My car wouldn't go into neutral and the steering wheel was locked up. My car was in "safe" mode, and was at a gas pump. He clearly made sure my car got on the truck carefully. Long story short. They are saved in my contacts and I will use them in the near future. Give them a call and get a quote!
I called suburban towing to have my project car taken from EGV to Streamwood. I’m stuck in FL so it was a lifesaver to have them show up, get air in the back tires, onto a flatbed and to my friends house with zero issues. The dispatchers are very polite and i was a pain in the butt because I had to call back to verify my friends would each be at their homes to have the car taken and dropped off, and suburban worked with me and was able to change the pickup time. It cost me $138 said and done. Great value and the tow driver absolutely nailed the landing on getting the car off and into my friends garage, first try. Highly recommend!
Great , friendly, awesome people. Thank you so much to Colleen, Christ, Larry and Stacy(hopefully I didn’t spell their name wrong, if I did, bear with me please). They have great customer service, patient, polite. I had an car accident and almost didn’t know what to do and how to deal with my car. I am a stranger to them, but they were trying their best to help me today. Gave me extract help besides their services. I am really grateful for their concern and their kindness. I defiantly recommend them to anyone who need tow service in the future.
