Wish I could give a "Zero" Star! Horrible! Run away as fast as you can! Tony, the Owner, is a scammer and does not care about his customers.
Unfortunately, at the time of my auto accident in 2021, my insurance company pushed me to use Fix It Auto in Barrington for my auto accident repairs and they did a horrible, unprofessional and careless job on my vehicle, causing me to get the repairs done a second time here in 2025. Thank God I found Woodfield Collision as they were able to fix all the mistakes made by Fix It Barrington.
On numerous occasions in the last four years since the original repair, I would physically go into Fix It Auto and would talk to Tony the Owner about the front grille falling off my car. He would take the car in the back of the shop only to tell me I should not go through the automatic car washes that use the brushes but that I should go to the touchless car washes so that my front grille does not fall off the car again.
After following those silly instructions for the first two years (2021 and 2022), in 2023 I finally realized something bigger was wrong with my car. In 2023 and 2024 I visited Fix It Auto annually to find out what was wrong only to be told that it is something on my end causing the front end of my car to fall off. Somehow during those years they lost all my records and were unable to validate my annual visits back to their shop.
In 2025 I decided to pay out of pocket for a reputable shop to look at my car. Thankfully I found Woodfield Collision.
Woodfield Collision fought for me as a customer even when Fix It Auto wouldn't. I had to re-open the insurance claim in order for my car to be properly repaired. My insurance company wanted me to go back to Fix It Auto to have them re-do the repairs but I said No Way!
All my repairs were made by Woodfield Collision and Woodfield did a high quality repair of the mess that Fix It Auto made.
Fix It Auto is the last place I would ever recommend anyone go to for their auto body needs. If you want to be scammed and brushed off, this is the perfect place to go. Zero accountability and the problem is all on You the customer. Good Luck Fix It Yourself should be their new name.
Leaving this review for my dad. My dad was hit by another vehicle which resulted in him needing his car repaired. The Fix Auto crew made the process easy and seamless. The car looks amazing and my dad is happy!
They did a great job and completed the work under the budgeted cost and had my car completed earlier than expected. They were also very helpful in arranging a rental car.
If you have to get your car fixed here, you should they are very good at what they do. I worked with someone named Shelby and she was very good. They even cleaned up my car really good as far as washing it and vacuuming it. They are pretty reasonable in price, especially if you have to go through your insurance for whatever reason.
I would very much recommend this place to anyone.
Fair estimates and quality of work is splendid. The staff is very nice and friendly. Tim Allen proactively kept me posted on the vehicle status on regular basis, never had to follow up.
Chose Fix b/c the insurance carrier preferred them. But, I'm glad I did. Their process, engagement, updates, and communication were terrific. The work product on my car was wonderful. I mean this with humor, I hope to never use them again - BUT - if I do happen to need a car repaired, I'd happily let them do the repairs. They did a great job and were very pleasant to work with. You'll be in good hands.
Fix Auto Barrington did a great job on my daughter’s car! They were professional throughout the process, worked around our schedule to do the repairs, and strived to make sure everything turned out perfect. I highly recommend this body shop!
Highly recommend these guys. Tim made the process of getting my truck back pretty painless , kept in touch along the way and kept true to his estimate. Victor the body guy fixed the damaged body parts on my truck and made them look new again, and Jorge painted the pieces and blended everything perfectly my 2002 Chevy looks like it’s fresh off the lot again. Thanks to these guys. Definitely recommend them for anything you need body work wise ?!
My wife recommended this place for me and they helped me get a rental car and and took care of everything. Gave me updates all the time. Very friendly!! I will definitely go back and let people know about this place!!!
I was in a fender bender and it smelt like something was smoking but the car was still drivable. Our insurance sent us to this body shop. Upon getting there I had mentioned right away that the car was doing something weird when driving and would make a jerking feeling.
They reassured me they would look at everything.
Well as the days went on with them fixing my car, I had to call daily for updates to see what was going on as we had to get a rental car and pay for it out of pocket so it was important for us to get updates of when we would receive our vehicle by.
When I called daily I reminded them several times to check the engine and transmission because of the jerking feeling. They reassured everything was absolutely fine.
The day we were supposed to pick up my car, they called me to tell me they ordered the wrong part and it would be another day or so.
When we picked up the car on the way home it was doing the shuttering feeling again but worse.
Got home and decided to have my husband test drive it, and same exact thing. We then called them and it took them 8 hours and they didn’t call us back so we called again and they told us they didn’t want us to bring it there if it was mechanical issues and it was better to bring it to the dealership instead.
We now are stuck renting another car for who knows how long and paying more money out of our pockets.
Steer clear of this auto body shop. They are awful and do not care about wasting anyone’s time.
I came into get an estimate for some minor damage to my car. I was greeted with a friendly conversation as I explained my damages. I should also mention that there to greet me was, Peanut, a very cute 1 1/2 year old puppy!
I worked with Shelby, who was fantastic! She went out to look at my car with me and advised me that the damage wasn’t as bad as I thought. She stated she would be able to remove the paint transfer quite easily and write me up an estimate if I could wait a few minutes. I took this time to enjoy Peanut a bit longer.
Shelby then informed me that she was able to remove the paint transfer easily, so there would be any charge for that portion. Shen the provided me with a detailed estimate for the remainder of the work that was to be completed, which was at a very fair price.
I highly recommend using this shop if you are looking for a professional and honest business. I didn’t know the paint transfer was an easier process to remove before Shelby had explained it to me. She could have inflated my estimate by including this, but was upfront and showed much integrity in doing so.
I would highly recommend Fix Auto. This is the second time this year I have taken a vehicle to Fix Auto to repair body damage. In this instance, we had our front bumper and trim repaired. Tim was great to work with and the work was done very well. Pricing was fair and the work completed in only 2 days. Overall we’re very satisfied.
Had repair to spot where paint had bubbled and was rusting. The finished work turned out great matching paint and striping to the rest of the vehicle. Tim in the office did the estimate and arranged getting my truck in to have the work done. Would recommend this shop!
This was our first experience & we highly recommend Fix Auto Barrington. We had some random damage to our EV and it was submitted to insurance for estimates, etc. They found the best pricing for us at Fix Auto. The service is what really made this experience great. They did the work in one day and picked up AND returned the car to us. I totally did not expect that to happen and that was a big relief, esp. since I work out of town most work weeks. The work was excellent and the price was right. We hope to never see them again, but will call on Cary should the need arise.
I had worked with Fix Auto Barrington in the past and they did a great job putting my wife's car back together. After a neighbor decided to use my vehicle's door strips as her work of art by smacking her doors into them chipping the paint just one too many times I decided to have them repainted and went back to Fix Auto.
They did an amazing job and also replaced a damaged rear wiper motor. I had left the vehicle with them while I was out of town and was blown away by how pristine it now looked.
The vehicle had been washed, the interior cleaned and surfaces wiped; windows cleaned and mats wiped and vacuumed.
Their attention to detail and great customer service was beyond what I had expected and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

This place is awesome! I had a situation with the entire passenger side of my car! I was mostly worried about the color matching. This color requires a "three step" job and I can't tell that it was repaired. I only needed thier paint services but if i ever needed any cosmetic service, this is the place to go! Cary was awesome and has a great group of guys that truly know what they are doing. We'll done boys!

The Fix Auto was efficient in giving an estimate and negotiated a good price. They explained the different parts of the auto body that needed to be painted and the parts that didn’t need to be fixed. The work took almost a month. That in our opinion was a little bit too long. The staff and the mechanics were very attentive and nice. Workmanship was good
Very pleased with repair that involved a front bumper minor repair and paint. Overall service was excellent. Dealt initially with Mike and then Cary. Both friendly, informative, and professional. Timely updates and car was ready when promised. Took care of dealing directly with my insurance. Highly Recommended!
Met with Cary who was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Received my quote the same day as promised. He was able to order the part and have my car in for the repair within a week. I would definitely recommend Fix Auto.
State Farm suggested Fix Auto Barrington following a minor fender bender. Mike was my main contact and he shepherded the repairs from beginning to end. They made the car look like new. Did it quickly and even did some requested repairs for me. Efficient. Timely. Reasonable! Highly recommend!!

I had a wonderful experience at this shop after my car had been side swiped. They were extremely friendly & helpful on the phone as well as in person & never made me feel rushed or silly about the questions I had. They had my back when my insurance company tried to dispute covering parts of the damage from the incident and really fought to make sure everything was covered under my policy. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone looking to get work done on their vehicle!
My husband and I had a great experience at fix auto! I had never been in an accident, so I was a bit of a newbie when it came to insurance claims and John was super helpful. The repair took about 9 days and the car looks brand new again! The work done is guaranteed by fix auto for life (as long as I own the vehicle) which is fantastic. I would highly recommend!!!
Cassandre was very friendly and helpful in dealing with the insurance company. The shop did an amazing job on the body work on my Toyota Camry. It looks like I just drove it out of the showroom.
I worked with Cassandre at Fix auto Barrington, she was friendly and helpful. She had my estimate quickly. She assisted me with getting insurance involved. She set and appointment quickly, arranged my rental car. My car repair was completed quicker than expected. The repairs completed were exceptional. My car was returned spotless inside and out and also was sanitized. This is not the first time I have used Fix Auto Barrington. It is my place of choice.
My car was in a small fender bender and insurance sent me to this shop. The owner and staff were great! Once I picked up the car, the owner walked me around and explained everything that was done, and made sure i was satisfied with the work. He also helped me address a few other issues with my rear suspension.
Paint wise, they did a great job matching my quarter panel, so for paint, I would highly recommend.
Everyone was very friendly in the office and Jim, the the owner was informative and helpful. The results of my repair exceeded my expectations and were done in a timely and professional manner. My 2009 Honda Accord looked like new when we picked it up and Jim agreed to fix a few minor problems at a very reasonable cost outside of the insurance claim. I had never used this business before but will definitely in the future should I need auto-body work and would highly recommend FIX AUTO OF BARRINGTON to anyone looking for quality work and excellent customer service in the area.
Being of a car enthusiast personality, I really wanted my insurance company to just write me the check and I would do it myself. However, I don't have the time to do the job so i had to wake up and realistically look around for the best service possible. I landed on this shop based on the reviews. I was not disappointed! Handled everything professionally! Made sure I was taken care of and Jim was even very patient with me when I was running late to pick my car up. They have skilled employees here and they respect your vehicle. When I picked up my vehicle and was driving off, i immediately noticed that my car was spruced up and cleaner than how I left it. This was way above my expectations. Will now always trust this place for work and will always recommend to friends and family if they ever need work done!
