I have found Candlewick Lake to be a nice place to live. We can walk out our door and be on a pontoon within minutes. The fishing here has been really good. As a Realtor, I've sold homes here for sellers and buyers over the years and I'm also a resident. I've seen, first-hand, Candlewick become a community that offers reasonable real estate taxes and a desirable lake lifestyle; not to mention the golf course, bar, pool, rec center, gym and more. The 4th of July festivities have been great. Enjoying lake life!
We’ve lived here 29 years this coming August. We love our street and neighbors too. Good people.
We have loads of amenities which include: club house with gymnasium and full basket ball court, party room, library with fireplace, full showers, work out room, 200 acre clean lake, hiking and biking trails, 9 hole golf course and carts, tennis courts, many play grounds, security, swimming pool, kiddie pool, slide, fully staffed and guarded. Beautifully maintained grounds and open spaces. Excellent fireworks display each year, musical and craft shows.
I’ve been coming here 50 years and my dad was one of the original property owners and attorney. Many professionals in the Belvidere/Poplar Grove community call this home. The schools are new and excellent. Our taxes and dues are reasonable. Water is high but we’ve had it tested. No chemicals run off, lead or any other worrisome things. People here care of their yards, homes and pick up any trash that may be blown out of the cans on trash day. Neighbors are friendly and we all watch out for each other. We have camper storage available and a full staff of maintenance crew for roads, water, sewer. We have boat docks and lake security for busy boating season. You can attend board meetings and your voice will be heard.
Lived here 13 years. Best place I have lived. Friendly people and quiet. Waterbill is high but other then that its nice to have the gates, pool, golf course and lake
