I live very close to this shop. I stopped in due to a flat tire. They filled it up for free so I could go somewhere to get the tire repaired. Very nice folks!
Jay was Very honest and explained what did and did not need to be done on my car. The dealer said we needed to have certain work done. But he assured me that wasn't the case. He could have easily charged me for something that didn't need to be done. I love the work ethic and honesty. And we'll continue going back with both our vehicles.
So skip all the low ratings and sob stories of people that got towed for illegal parking. That's their problem for breaking the law. These guys don't drive around town looking to tow people. They respond to a business or property owner calling them -- so take up your complaint with the property owner.
I have used AATCO multiple times and every time they did a good job, were super helpful, and made sure I got home safe. They have towed 2 vehicles for me at a reasonable price and also fixed a couple of my vehicles.
People complaining about prices? Well why didn't you just fix it yourself if you are so skilled. You are paying for labor of people that are trained, have tools, and have the ability to repair your car. They also have what's called in business "overhead", taxes, rent, more taxes, etc... Your mechanic isn't earning $100 an hour. It takes a lot of money to operate a business.
These guys are fair, friendly, and work hard. Most of the complaints on here are from white collar people that think rainbow people, fairies, and unicorns are real. Sorry -- get a real life and if you don't want your car fixed here go to the dealer where you can get a bottle of water while they screw you more than you will ever know.
If you like a good honest shop -- AATCO is the place for your and yes mechanics get dirty hands....
He towed me!! Can you believe that!? He did a great job, too! He got to me quickly, towed my vehicle 22 miles for an extremely reasonable price, and gave me a ride as well.
If you park illegally and get towed, well, that's your own fault. These 1 star reviews about towing are ridiculous.
Towed for parking illegally. I confess yes I was for 6 hours 1200am-6am. But to charge 485$ to get it out the next business day (it was towed Sunday morning) seems excessive.

I needed an engine replacement asap. I had an engine delivered to them and dropped my truck off. They had it done in just a few days at a very reasonable price compared to other places. When some kinks needed to be worked out, I was able to take it back to them and they looked at it right way. I've also used their towing service in the past and had a great experience with that as well. Anyone that has answered the phone has always been very nice and polite.
Me and my family have a landscaping business and anytime we need work done these guys always get the job done right and in a timely manner. I recommend them for any work on any vehicle. Fair price and they have there own tow truck so just saves a big head ace
They did an awesome job replacing the water pump on my 2012 f150 3.5 EcoBoost. The price was very reasonable and they said they would have it done the next day. I dropped it off the evening before and sure enough at 430 in the afternoon the next day they called to tell me it's done. Not a single leak. Truck is nice and quiet again. They are friendly and down to earth. I will certainly go to them again. They even stayed a little later so I could drop off my truck to them after closing.
Beware of this business. Avoid using them for a tow. Let everyone know.
So. My son forgot to move his car and, as warned, he got towed. That’s on him.
We received no notification of the tow, and had to track the car down. This company - AATCO Transmissions and Towing - charged him the unreasonably high price of $285 towing + $35 storage for the day.
To be clear I’m not complaining that he was towed, and we would have been fine paying a reasonable fee, but that price gouging for a 1.5 mile tow of a Subaru Outback is criminal!
I asked to negotiate down the price and they were unwilling. The part that got under my skin the most although was the excuses and lies.
“I can’t make those decisions.” “I can’t call the person who does.” “He doesn’t read texts.” (A tow company that doesn’t take calls or texts from the office. Really?! )
The owner was finally called, and he did answer the phone. After their complaining about how difficult it was to move a Subaru Outback from an otherwise empty parking lot (yeah, read that again) they dropped the storage fee.
After this, we contacted Nampa PD (should have started there) to see if they reported that they towed the car. They are legally responsible to do so. PD had no record of the car being towed (even though AATCO told us they did report it - another lie ) So, I guess they basically stole it!
And I’m not alone in complaining about this. There have been many complaints and bad reviews on this business.
Hopefully The Station Apartments at Gateway will read this and other complaints and choose a honest company to work with in the future.

Excellent Quality Work!! Labor cost $10 cheaper than any other place that I’ve taken my Vehicle to!! $65 vs $75 per hour of Labor!! Family owned!! Peeps!! Let’s keep them in business!! We have used AATCO several times and would highly recommend this company to any of my family and friends! They have towed my vehicles and more than one occasion and have fixed my vehicles several times! This company is trust worthy and really does care about you and your vehicle. A lot of the negative reviews seem to be coming from people who get their cars towed for parking illegally. Of course they are going to be upset because they made a mistake and now have to pay the price, but its awful that they get to write a negative review and slander a companies name because they made a mistake and don't want to pay the price for that mistake. I rate this company 5 stars. I have always been treated well and been super satisfied with the work done!!
i needed work done before a long road trip. They where very professional and made sure my car was finished well before i needed to leave. I'm very happy with them and will be bringing my cars back in the future.
These people were so nice. They really knew what they were doing. They will take care of your car and help in anyway possible. I really do appreciate what they do for my car and the prices are better than any other company that I've been to. I rate this company 5 stars!!
This place is so nice till the work is done. They DO charge for work they did not perform. Was told the water pump was bad paid 600$ for it to be done. 2 months later still overheating take to a differnt mechanic who shows me the same old rusty water pump thats supposed to be brand new. Turns out a head gasget and never was the water pump. The only reason we didnt go to small claims court is we lost the receipt and guess who woudnt print us one. The second shop was willing to go to court.
Took my 4 Runner there for what I thought was a rear main seal issue. They called and found that my oil leak was not the seal. A totally different, and less expensive issue.
I was kept informed as to the progress, and the car was ready on time.
Angela was very helpful, with explanations and descriptions of the work performed. I will go back. it seems like a true "family" operation.
This place is an absolute RIP OFF. They towed several vehicles from a lot and charged each person $320 to $365 to retrieve their vehicles. The office was filthy with a disgusting smell of body odor and the clerk was very rude. We were told all impound yards are cash only, which is clearly a lie, and not legal based on Consumer Towing Rights Advisory. I only paid $210 in Ada county after my husbands vehicle was towed by police, I paid with a credit card, and picked it up the next day... We picked our vehicle up within hours and were charged $320 plus we were each charged a $45 gate fee that could have easily been waived due to the fact that they had only towed the vehicles within hours and only had to open the gate once. I use a towing company on a regular basis for my business fleet and only pay $60 for a local tow and $125 for my large delivery truck tows.. These people are dirty, rude and very unethical. They take advantage of people because they think we don't know any better.... Mr. Patterson-- You have not seen the last of this group!!! I cannot rate 0 stars but this company deserves ZERO STARS!!!!
Towed my car 3.4 miles. On lot less than 30 minutes. Said they would accept cash only charged tow fee of $285; storage $35; gate fee $45. Total $365. Given average tow fee for local tows runs $35-125 they must have thought my compact SUV was a semi or ????
The best transmission shop ever. They gave me a fantastic deal and they were so nice and willing to get the job done and do it right. I would take my car there over any other car place. Thank you Aatco and I appreciate your business!
well let's see here. My night was going great until I exited a bar to see my truck had been towed. The parking lot was not clearly marked and there were other trucks parked in it as well so I decided it was a good spot. Only after figuring out my truck had been towed did I finally see a tiny sign to call aatco if I wanted my truck back.
This where the night went from bad to worse. How this company gets by and stays in business with their extortion practices I will never understand! $365 for a tow less than five miles?!?!
not to mention the $35 storage fee for a truck they had less than 3 hours and a $40 "gate fee". Unreal! BOYCOTT THIS BUSINESS!!! THEY ARE CROOKS!!!
Don't know where your driver was headed eastbound on I-84 at about 3:45 pm on 9/11/17, but tailgating and driving 75 mph in a 65 mph zone don't show a great safety record. I'll not be calling your service ever. He tried to intimidate me into moving so he could have the inside lane and tailgated me when I wouldn't move. I was already over the speed limit, so I just slowed down. He was not happy, but causing a wreck would have been a bigger issue. Not very professional!
Was told no charge for the tow had had them do the work office manager Randy is the biggest POS I've ever met lying no good SOB charged me 125 for the tow tookcharged me 195 dollars to Clean mud out of rear disk brakes 3 hrs labor come on not to mention broke my mirror drug my truck along something scratches and dents down the side of the truck am not happy at all wouldn't even let them work on a dirt clod!!!

These guys could see me from a mile away. Had my car towed to their shop 65 dollars no problem .asked them to replace a clutch cable parts one hundred twelve dollars labor two hundred seventy five dollars. It mite of taken lets say one hundred dollars an hour at best any idiot would give them lets say two hours two hundred seventy dollars for labor..........Guess I am the IDIOT three hundred ninety four dollars for a tow and a clutch cable ...................you be the judge......had to post one star to get a review.........
I've been to many other places, but these guys really made life easier. I came in to get my clutch replaced, and I figured it would be really expensive, what with the diagnosics of my truck, the labor, and the part itself, but it was definitely cheaper than the other guys. They made the entire process more simple, and the whole experience much more enjoyable.
Long story short, our car broke down at walmart only a couple minute drive from our house and I called around to see how much it cost to have our car towed home and most places wanted 70-85 dollars, but this place only charged 55. The service was prompt and the price very helpful as we are low income. We appreciated being able to get our car back in our driveway safely.
I recently purchased an 88 Suburban and thought I could change the distributor myself, I'm defiantly not a mechanic. I had called other shops and most are around $90/hour, AATCO however, was only $45 to diagnose and $65 an hour. One of the best things they did was they called me before they did any work and quoted me on what I wanted done so there was no surprise. Everyone looks for that small town mechanic and I have found it with AATCO. I'll be going to them for all services and issues from now on.
I cannot believe what a rude and inconsiderate place this is. My daughter went to visit her mom and parked in a spot that wasn't marked. Aatco ended up towing my daughters car. (it was a Saturday night). Once we found out where the car was we were informed that they were closed on Sunday, but they could have the gate opened for an additional charge of $45. We waited until Monday to get the car. When I entered the office, they asked how I was doing. I expressed "could be better". We begin to talk and I expressed that I was unhappy with the Sunday ordeal and thought they were in the business of ripping people off. He preceded to tell me that he could add an "a**hole" charge and charge me what ever he wants, and that I better shut up if I don't want to be charged more. I am going to the Better Business Bureau and inform them of the unbelievably rude and uncomfortable situation I found myself in. Do not do business with these guys. $295 tow bill? Seems excessive.
AATCO Transmissions & Towing came to my rescue! I was on a trip in Nampa Idaho and noticed my car was over heating, smoke was coming out of everywhere it seemed. I called AATCO and they immediately came to my rescue towing my son and I back to their shop. They were so kind and treated me like I was the only thing that mattered! They fixed my vehicle and got me back on the road in no time! I was so grateful for their compassion and understanding! They were very professional and fixed my vehicle not only well, but for a fair price! I haven't had a problem with my vehicle since! Thanks AATCO, I won't forget your compassion, honesty, and professionalism
