What clients say about Republic Services Recycling Center in Boise (ID)

Republic Recycling is a convenient and accessible location for all your recycling needs. It’s easy to get in and out of, making it a great option for dropping off recyclables quickly. The staff are helpful and the facility is generally well-maintained. However, one area that could use some improvement is the signage—it’s a bit unclear at times, and it can be hard to figure out exactly where to place certain materials. Better labeling or more clear directions would make the experience even smoother. Overall, though, it’s a solid choice for recycling and I’d definitely recommend it!

Many bins for lots of different types of packaging. Mixed paper, cardboard, tin, aluminum, glass, plastics...

avoid any recycle place that will not put their price on their web page. If they are not honest enough to keep an up to date price on the web page they are not worth doing business with. it would be better to build a small simple induction smelter for aluminum or copper & Stockpile metal until the buyers need the metal so bad they have to trade with respect.

You can drop off your cardboard for free. Just tell the guy at the booth and he will tell you where to go

They accepted my old junk freezer. and did not change a few. They were friendly and helpful.

We love this place. The employees are quite helpful doing a dirty job. Seems they take just about everything and the different containers are clearly marked. It's very conveniently located also, right across from Costco!

I had a great experience here. The staff answered all of my questions regarding where to put each type of recycle clearly with a great attitude.

What these people do too help organize and work with the recycling is wild ... I can say that I will try harder to make sure recycling is just that and will keep the trash were it is supposed to be .

Great place to take recycling! They take all types you could need. Employees are helpful when I’m not sure which bin something goes in.

Had to wait a bit before someone helped us, but otherwise good service.

My grandpa came yesterday to recycle a flat screen TV and they told him they charge per lb but he would have to come back after lunch because they were all on lunch break. Seriously, ever heard of employees taking turns! They wouldn't even tell him how much they would charge (very large tv) but they just didn't care how inconvenient it was to make him come back. so rude. thankfully when he got home i was there and helped him find a better place to take it -- and it was free and friendly.

I went there specifically to recycle cardboard and they said they don't do that anymore. I also had some insulation material (that kept some meals cold) they didn't do that either. They were nice and recommended Western Recycling. I got better service there.

Very nice, well organized facility. Staff were friendly and attentive (2 guys at the warehouse area), especially a very nice young man named Brandon. It was my first time bringing items to this facility and Brandon did a most professional and excellent job, patiently explaining to me exactly how everything works, what gets paid for and what doesn't, some Covid updates and how I can use the car-scale system and everything. He walked with me and showed me exactly where everything goes. He was friendly, clear and very thorough. thanks! I will definitely be back! :-)

Had 83 cardboard boxes of various sizes that I needed to get rid of after moving. We flattened the boxes at home, made two trips with the pick-up truck and got rid of all the boxes. Don't plan on sorting/flattening/whatever your stuff in their yard, do that at home - you need to get in and out quickly as this business is a high volume operation. The staff are busy, do a hard days work and are focused on large vehicles with 1000s of pounds of material; not joe-schmoe trying to sell a couple bucks worth of scrap. No, they aren't going to help you unload. Yes, you need to read the signs on the dumpsters to figure out where to put your stuff. It's a busy, noisy, dirty industrial location - get over it.

I just visited western recycling and was given little to no direction as to where to place my scrap. I walked into the office to get direction and was looked at by the staff as if I was getting in their way and didn’t have time for my questions. I get that it’s not a coffee shop or a place that values customer service, but for crying out loud, have a little more professionalism!!!!! Probably my fault for going there in the first place. Should have went to pacific.

EXTREMELY UNHELPFUL! When we asked questions they gave very vague answers and left us more confused. When asked where to weigh in they pointed to the window and said “over there outside the window”. Once I pulled my truck to the window they all sat there laughing and pointing. Finally a very nice gentleman came out and explained that we needed the other scale and exactly how we could get unloaded and paid. WE WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN!

When I walked in the office, the women simply glared at me and walked toward me as to divert me out of the office. The man who approached me (without even acknowledging my presence) apologized to the lady saying he tried to tell me not to come into the office. I heard no such comments before I walked in. The guy asked me if I planned to dump my scrap metal, or if I was asking to sell it to him. He told me to go to the other end of the building. I waited for nearly 5 minutes before he showed up. When I told him I'd like to sell it, he shrugged and offered me 1 penny per pound. The recycling centers around town were closing so I agreed. The market would have likely compensated me nearly $10, but this guy wanted it for 46 cents total. He joked about how his compensation for my scrap metal wasn't worth my gas to get there. These people are awful! I hope they shut down because they have no regard for their customers. What a bunch of losers!!!

Love their service ... but the guy that weighs in the aluminum is the rudest, crankiest old man I've ever run across. PLEASE HAVE SOMEONE ELSE DO THIS JOB!!

Seemed inconvenience that I was there. When they did finally help me, they let me know they didn't really care to help mom and pop recyclers. Then quite running ads.

I love the convenience. Hard to find directions for dumping items. Kids earned $22 for 3 garbage sacks full of aluminum cans (50 lbs)

I wouldn't recommend this recycling center. I had some scrap metal that I wanted to see if they would buy. Waited for about 5 minutes at their make-shift desk before someone finally came over. When I didn't know what kind of metal I had, he told me just to toss it into one of their donation bins instead of offering to come look at it to see if it would be something they'd buy. He wasn't rude, but was very short and not at all interested in helping me. Instead of donating the metal, I jumped back in my car and looked up other recycling centers in the area on my phone. I found another center about a mile or two away (United Recycling Center). This place was much better. A guy came out to help me before I could even park my car. He was super friendly...told me they'd buy any kind of metal. The place was clean and the staff was helpful. Drove away with $15 bucks.

I just took all my recycling to Western Recycling. I sat there and took my time separating glass, aluminum, plastic, and cardboard. Then the apparent "owner" came up and hassled me three different times. I was accused of 'stealing' and he said he has cameras all over and they saw me stealing cans, and he was going to have to ask me to leave. I'm not sure if it's because I have tattoos, but this man accused me of stealing in BROAD DAYLIGHT. Is this the thanks I get for being a good samaritan AND providing your company with money? I have never been more appalled in my life. I can't believe they have the audacity to profile me and wrongly accuse me. That company is truly repugnant and should be ashamed of themselves. I will spread the word to EVERY SINGLE PERSON I know about this company and their repulsive customer service. Your mission should be about RECYCLING not how much money you can make. Why on earth would anybody take their time to recycle if this is how they are going to be repaid? Shame on you Western Recycling!
