My family and I were on our way home from Florida and started to hear a hissing noise when accelerating. We aren’t from the area so we just googled a place nearby and thankfully Kyle was kind enough to stop what he was doing to check out our car. He gave us reassurance that we would be okay until we got home. He didn’t charge us for his time & we are so thankful. We appreciate his time & help!!
I own a shop in town. One of my guys who is very smart and knowledgable, could not figure the problem out. Kyle came down to my own shop, took time out of his own schedule to come and help us. He helped us narrow the issue down and had the customers car back on the road. We are competitors, however small we are, but I have the utmost respect for Kyle and his work ethic. I can not give enough stars!
I went in for window regulator replacement and left with the the window not working as it was in the first place , they do good mechanical work but don't ask for body work or window work, he doesn't know what he doing.
I had spent a lot of money throwing parts at my truck trying to fix an issue with it, they were able to diagnose the issue for me and charged me less than 50bucks. I trust this shop. What made me go there in the beginning were the good reviews and they didn’t disappoint.
Not that nice to African Americans. In the past my doctor recommended this place and spoke such good things about it. So, I was expecting a good experience with excitement. Had a worker speak to me as I was about to walk inside, told me to hold a minute so he could get somebody, never showed up. I called the store all to be disrespected and told to go elsewhere because they don’t do business outside. Why would your worker tell me to hold on instead of saying it’s best to walk inside? The way the entire experience went for me was embarrassing and humiliating. As we know, times are changing. It’s time to start being more mindful of where we seek help/business. I don’t like to leave these reviews, but it’s time to start acknowledging things for what they really are. God bless.
Took my truck to a shop closer to where I live. They told me that I needed a new engine. Bad, expensive news.
I trust Ray’s, so I had the vehicle towed a good distance to get it to them. New lifters. That’s it, I needed new lifters. Ray’s saved me thousands of dollars! Kyle and company really came through for me. Can’t recommend them enough!
Kyle was amazing! He helped me with my difficult/stubborn car changing the headlight & was friendly & quick! I will definitely be back whenever I’m in town for anything else! :)

Ray’s was awesome. I was having van issues on a road trip & had no idea who to go to. Every one recommended Ray’s and I can see why. Honest, kind, hard working folks run this place. They even got me back on the road in lightening speed.
I only wish I was local so I could take my van to them always.
Our A/C went out on the drive back from St. Augustine to Atlanta with two dogs in the car on a Friday afternoon with 95 degree temps outside. They took us in, got the car fixed and were amazing to us and our doggos. They let the doggos hang out inside the air conditioned building and gave them water as well. Could not have asked for better and friendlier service!
Honest is the word that comes to mind when I think about my first experience at Ray's Auto. I'm preparing to head out on a cross country road trip and now have peace of mind regarding some of the concerns I had with my truck before bringing it in to their shop. This is the type of local business I want to support and would recommend them to friends and family.
It was the best automotive experience I've ever had !!! I was traveling up I-75 from Miami to our home in Knoxville, when my Cadillac Escalade blew a hole the size of a tennis ball through my engine block. I had my vehicle towed to Prince GMC & Chevrolet, and they gave me a written estimate of $21,000. to replace the engine with a rebuilt 6.2 Liter. I was told by 4-Local automotive shops that only two shops in Valdosta were experienced enough and had the right equipment and resources to take on that big a job. I called Ray's Automotive and spoke to Kyle Ray (Owner), and he was prompt, knowledgeable, and professional !!! Kyle found me another 6.2 Liter engine, had it shipped very quickly, and did the job for half the price ($10,700.) that Prince Chevrolet quoted me. Ray's was also $2,500. cheaper than the other quotes I was given in the Valdosta area. But, what was even better... was that Kyle went over my vehicle with a "fine tooth comb" and didn't try to charge me for additional work. He was extremely honest to tell me my vehicle didn't need any additional work. Most automotive shops would have taken advantage of the situation and found a ton of other work on my vehicle ,since I was eager to take care of any additional other parts, such as brakes, suspensions, etc.
I just picked up my vehicle, and I'm EXTREMELY HAPPY with the work Ray's Automotive did. My Vehicle rides like brand new. Thank you to Kyle and his entire crew !!!
Excellent customer service! The front axel broke as we exited the interstate in Valdosta. These folks were very helpful and it seemed like the entire staff jumped in and took prompt and professional care for our situation. They had my part in stock and completed the work in a timely manner. We were back on the road within a couple of hours. The entire bill with towing and urgent service was less than expected. We are extremely pleased with the great folks at Ray's. Their high level of attention and customer service made our little mishap seem like a blessing! Thank you Deborah and Kyle!
Absolutely amazing people and service! My alternator went out unexpectedly when I was supposed to leave town to help my mom who had been in a car accident and unable to even shower herself. I called late in the day explaining my situation and they got me in immediately upon opening the next day and had it done in forty five minutes so I was able to get right on the road. Everyone was extremely kind and the cost was extremely fair too. Since I only recently relocated to Valdosta they were truly a Blessing to find and I will use them for any automotive needs in the future. I was even given a number for a reliable towing company should I ever have to be towed in. I can't thank them enough for getting me on the road to help my mother so quickly in Pinellas County, Florida enough.
My daughter's car broke down at VSU and I am not from the area. I found them on the internet I called Mr Ray and spoke with him about my daughter's car he told me who to call to have it towed to him and with in 3 hours he had her car repaired and ready for pickup his price for repair was great. I would highly recommend this shop. I told my daughter as long as she is in that area for school to take her car to him.
Just moved here a few months back and needed my car to have a once over. It was shaking while driving fast and the engine would rumble. Ray's quickly identified that the vehicle had a dirty sensor causing a malfunction as well as warped rotors. Ray's had my car for one day and I picked up the following afternoon. They do quick work for a very reasonable price. The employees listen to what you describe and use it as the basis of your visit and don't try to convince you that you need additional work done. In my experience, I've never had to make an appointment. I'm always told to bring it in first thing in the morning. They have done my oil change for me and did an inspection on the things that I asked about, only cost $10 for the inspection, keep in mind my dealership charges $150 for an inspection. They let me know that my tires were pretty worn and it would be safest to get a new set before a long trip that I'll be taking. They don't do tires so they recommended a couple of places here in town. My fiance needs a new hybrid battery that was going to cost over $5000 at the dealership and Ray's has a mechanic that found a battery and gave us a price of a little over $ 3600 for parts and all labor included. Seriously go to Ray's Automotive. It's the best mechanic shop I've ever been too. The employees are genuine and actually want to help people without price gouging them or suggesting services they don't need. I've never been happier with a service in my life. Great business. Great service. Great attitude. Incredibly genuine.
Truly disappointed. I was told on a Monday, that my truck would be looked at the next day. Wednesday of that week, I called back and the same person told me he had a full schedule and would get to the vehicle when he could. He called the end of day on Thursday to get some clarification on the problem occurring with the vehicle. On Friday, I called back. He stated he was ordering a part to try out to see if he could get that to work. The part came in Tuesday. I called Wednesday to see if the part made a difference. He said no. He was trying to do some coding to see if that made a difference. All in all, my truck was there for two weeks. I paid to get it towed there and am paying to get it towed from there because the problem could not be diagnosed. I'm not upset that he couldn't diagnose the problem. I understand. It happens. What I am upset about is the very poor service that I received over a two week span. I was called once over a two week period, every time I called it didn't seem like anything had been done, and even though there was no diagnosis, I was charged for a part that made no difference. There was one thing that this place could have done to remedy this. Don't tell someone you can look at their vehicle the following day if you already have a full schedule. I would have taken my vehicle somewhere else. Now its been two weeks, a couple of hundred dollars later, and I'm in the same spot I was when I had it towed up there.
Just got my Chevy out, needed some work done and Mr. Rodney did an absolutely amazing job.
It had no noises and she felt great riding out of the shop, he checked in with me mid day with some updates keeping me in the loop if anything new came up and took great care of the truck, even going a little beyond to review some possible underlying issues.
Great work from a great business!!

I took my 2017 Hyundai Accent to be serviced at Ray’s and was not disappointed. The prices were exceptional and the work on my vehicle was even better. Rodney and his son Kyle went out of their way to make sure my vehicle was taken care of. In the future, I will return with my car for any other needs I may have. I highly recommend everyone to come here.
Ray (Rodney) has been servicing my vehicles (3 so far) for almost 20 years. He gets me up and running each time. His work is good and his prices are fair.

The most honest people I’ve ever been to. Very helpful. I would highly recommend this place. We had car trouble on our way home to Indiana and had a couple places in Florida try to rip us off and saved a lot of money coming to this place!!
Amazing experience! Ray was very helpful and did an excellent job with my car! I would highly recommend. He obviously know what he is doing because he told me everything that was wrong and what it would do to my car and he was right.
Rodney & Kyle do good work, always give a fair price & in a timely manner. I would recommend them all day. We've used them several times over the past few years and have always felt like we were treated honestly & fairly.
